Maybe someone can clear this up for me. Has John Myung ever changed the way
he plays his solo in Metropolis??? I don't think so. Everytime I have ever
heard it, he has played it the way I have it tabbed on UACM, inwhich I got
from the instructional video. I have heard it live and on the CD and to me
they are all the same. What do you think???

In 5 years in a live time they play it together with no trade off. I don't
think anything is to tuff for these guys.

Aloha.
Does anyone have any input as far as CD's by the aforementioned bands are?
They are about the only 2 I've yet to find out much about and they seem like they
could be a good future purchase for me (after I get my ear out of the speaker, my
mind back to earth, and my gluteus maximus back in my chair after all the cool
trance stuff at CDUCTIVE - Great site.).
Ok, yeah, great thanks in advance. Hopefully I will get some true to life, honest
responses and not some pig latin from the "linkbot" if you know what I mean.

Damn it, i just went to a few stores, none of em had the Video of OIAL, I
has to settle for the Cassette Version (Cd player is Dead).
Some Points-
Petrucci's Solo is amazing (period)
MP, That drum solo is sick
I disliked the original version of Take Away My Pain from FII,
But this Version was great.
Overall the album rocked.!!!!

I sent in my money for a membership last year, and got the 1997 Xmas CD.
My question is, how do I know when my membership runs out and have to send
more money in? Thanks
Also, I would just like to say that the way James sings the last minute or
so of LTL on OiaLT just blows me away. The way he goes up that extra minor
3rd or whatever shows me that he has balls the size of coconuts.
Also, I am loving SG - Tyranny more and more every time I listen to it. It
has been getting some serious rotation in the CD player the past few days
since I got it. Hope For Us? and Spoken Words are both two truely
beautiful songs. Laura Jaeger has an incredibly intense voice, just like
the woman on Queensryche's O:MC CD that sings on Suite Sister Mary. And
the transition from Baker to LaBrie is incredible. I nearly got whiplash
the first time I noticed it...The change to LaBrie's voice is just so
smooth. A great idea. I just wish James sang longer : )
Can't wait for the OAN live Sym X CD!!!
If someone has the answer to my fan club question, I would really
appreciate it.
Thanks!
Jon

You are damn right about that! ;-) The Flying Finn deserved the
victory!

Someone mentioned the high price of OIAL... I was rather shocked myself,
having to pay FIM 150 ~ $30 for it. I knew I was buying it from an
expensive
store but damn, they were the first ones to have it and I didn't want to
wait till
it was available in a cheaper store. I'm not really complaining, as the
CD is
well worth the money... just comparing it to FW's "Still Life" which was
$21...
After a couple of listens, OIAL is excellent with minor complaints.
James' voice
gets too "harsh" in some songs at the end of the show, but that's
understandable.
I am not a fan of the artwork on this CD, "IAW & Awake" era's beautiful
art pleases
me much more. All in all it's great to have a CD of such high quality
refreshing my
memories of the two DT shows I saw this year. :-)

Absolutely! Al's totally right. Don't be afraid to post because of a
silly little goof. It really is half the fun!

Yeah, I agree with you there. Spock's will eventually grow on you like
a nasty green mold though! Hey, can any of you other Beard fans suggest
any other MP3's that Al ABSOLUTELY MUST HEAR?! I already sent him "The
Doorway", "Flow", and "Strange World".
Oh, by the way Al....... did that "Flow" MP3 finish getting through OK?
> Kinda like YES meets Crosby, Stills & Nash... I guess.
Hmmmm.... perhaps. I don't know many Crosby, Stills & Nash songs though
to compare.
I'm sure Al will educate this particular youngin' sometime though......

(Lord knows I've had many a nightmare about KorgX3 after I read one of
his posts........ not to mention I tend to get a contact buzz just from
seeing his words on the screen.......) ;-)
> Where can I find some Angra and Dali's Dilemma MP3's?
I'm also really looking forward to hearing some Dali's Dilemma! I have
high hopes! (just like Sammy Hagar)
As far as Angra - I can hook you up with MP3's from "Angels Cry", but I
haven't heard anything yet from "Holy Land" which is supposed to be
superior.

Well I thought the fake MP interview was GREAT... and yes I do like South Park. :)
And I am very certain that click at around 1:27 of ACOS pt 1, is JM plugging in. I seem to recall at the show I saw that they came on stage 1 at a time, so it makes perfest sense. Plus it just sounds like it. Sorry if this has been resolved already - if so I haven't seen it.
Also, am I the only one getting the jams in a mixed-up order? They will come like this: 2, 3, 1, 4, 5, 7, 6, 8... And when I read them they SHOULD go: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8...
Is anyone else having this problem? As I'm responding I'm missing one. I'll probably get it later...
SkadZ? What should I do?
ThanX,
-maX

Hi all,
Thanks to a few enthusiastic Jammers I have added several Angra & Dali's Dilemma MP3's to my large (and quickly growing) MP3 collection.
First listen: Angra. So far I like these guys... I'll continue to randomly listen to these songs and see if they click.
First listen: Dali's Dilemma. I like this stuff... Only I can't avoid thinking that the drummer is too busy beating the shit out of the drums to be musical about it. This bothers me :( I'll keep listening though.
Help me out here, I'm getting musically bored. I really like Fates Warning. Fates does great at any style of music, but when Fates is in the "Mellow" mode they really shine. (IMHO) I think when it comes to the soft stuff Fates is more musical than DT. DT sometimes sounds a little too analytical when doing the soft stuff. Fates does a great job of projecting the mood.
So where do I look now? I like the technical prowess and lyrics of DT. Mix that with the song writing of Fates and I'm there! So who now?

i've been thinking about this [groan from crowd] and as an avid air-drummer, i kinda like it. it puts me "in" Mike's shoes and i get to hear what he hears (well, sorta); let's me truly unleash the spectacle that is air-drumming: spinning cymbals, spitting at "James" (caution: don't try this while driving), chucking sticks towards "Derek," croaking back-ups w/ "John," grinning at the other "John," waving to looney YtseJammers in their oh-so-l33t-ytsejam tshirts, checkin out the babes in the front row -- all this while madly flailing away 12th notes in 36/5...
