But overall, I was impressed by the album. I could nitpick on little
things, but after the obvious ammount of effort that OFB put into this
(and the fact that they have apparently kept tabs on what the majority

disk of OiaL, right before Metropolis, the crowd begins to chant something.
It sounds like a bunch of Frenchmen (oddly enough), but I can't make out what
they're saying. Near the end it begins to sound like "Meh-tro-po-LEES." Any
ideas?

clean shot off. It's a song off of the Metro-Police's new album, wot?

Ok jammers another lurker comes out of the mists,
I got into DT through I&W. I'd heard Bruce Dickinson cite their production and songwriting qualities as a reason for leaving Maiden who were heading the other direction. As luck (or fate ?) would have it I picked up a second-hand tape copy of I&W without the insert sleeve and with the writing on the tape seriously worn out. As a result I didnt really know which songs were which and to this date I almost see the entire album as one wonderfully long piece of top quality music.
Anyways, to the point, James voice did not grate or bother me at all, I loved his range and adaptability........so why did Awake (Voices repeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllliiiiiiinnnnnnnngggggg mmmmmmeeeeeeee) and FII (Take away my pppppppppaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnn) really start bugging me in places? Are we talking about production nuances, that Mr Prater knew how to handle this powerful voice or is it the songwriting and phrasing of James lines ??????
Whatever it is, this 'phenomenon' is causing me to skip lengthy sections of OiaL (which i think you can split into Disc 1 Dereks' disc and Disc 2 JP's disc) Also although I hate to be too critical of something we've been looking forward to for a long time but the drum solo seems a little 'soul-less' too me, it doesn't have the tonality and feel of other solos i've heard from MP or other drummers
Your thoughts would be welcome because I feel almost guilty about it because there is something fundamentally wonderful about DT that keeps me much more than just vaguely interested.
On another point, did i read right a coupla jams ago that 5YiaL would not be released on PAL format................ Are us UK jammers to be deprived of this visual feast ??? This would be ironic as almost all of the performance footage recently released comes from European gigs (Rotterdam,Paris and Ronnie Scotts)
I'm a bit uncertain about this as I've heard of a dutch release so I dont know if their TVs use the same format as us Brits........
Any UK jammers able to ease my mind ???????

This one sounds very intriguing! I heard some RA's on their site which sounded really cool, but please tell me: how are the vocals? They didn't sound too good on the site.... but then again, they are crappy RA's, so who knows?
As far as Lovecraft goes, the (formerly) mighty Met has done two Lovecraft-inspired songs "Call of Ktulu" and "The Thing That Should Not Be". Also, on the cover of Iron Maiden's "Live after Death", there is a Lovecraft quote: "That is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange aeons even death may die". There's a website which lists musical references to Lovecraft, and you'd be surprised at how many groups have at least some fleeting mention of Lovecraft. Including Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, Yngwie Malmsteen (thanks Lovecraft in liner notes of a few albums), it says a Marillion song makes a brief reference. I have totally got into ChromaKey and I had to get it off my chest... Hell Mary rocks my world - I saw Deep Impact at the weekend and I'm really paranoid about asteroids and comets now and that track just fuels it all for me. As for On the Page, this has got to be one of the best tracks ever written. It's that whole kinda can't deal with fame thing...too cool. The cd just ain't long enough really...!
Question for UK Jammers (well everyone really) - Has 5YIAL been released in the UK yet, and if not when is it due...? I know I'm not in the UK anymore but I have a friend who is trying to get hold of it...
Just to Fuel (gimmie fire, gimmie that which I desire - ooooh) the Met@#lic@ thread, I thought that "AJFA", was their peak, "Black" was really good, "Load" was ok (with probably 4 or 5 really good tracks) and "ReLoad" was so obviously the tracks that weren't good enough to make the "Load" cd (with a 2CD set considered as commercial suicide), that it completely sucks and has probably only been in my changer twice.

One may question your specific goal in searching out large game in a woodland area. What type of animal are you planning on mounting? Without making any moral judgements, domestic animals are often prefered over the wild variety. Sheep and collies are traditional favorites, but similar animals may work.
