Ice Queen snaps at KorgX3's big manly ass: :-I (Hahaha!!!)

    >>>Besides which, Korg isn't gay and male is he?<<<

Well, not as far as I know, but why would we care anyway? He's crazy,
but I am crazier than he, and I am NOT gay... but I do think Korg is a
male, as least I always assumed that...

       Some jackball snorted humidified snot:

    >>>I would like to invite you to join the vivid mailing list.

    DTACEC.....almost
like Ptacek......maybe we should have chris for prez of that gang, after
all, he's legal now, what with his 21st b-day passing by
    yesterday.....<<<

Well, it's a CULT, and Ptacek can be Prez, but KorgX3 is then Supreme
Almighty Dictator. BLITZKRIEG!!! MUSIK IST MACHT!!!

The Earthian Cyaron Ambassador revolts with perspiring glory:

[I.Q.] >(But you should ask yourself, am I male or female?)

[PROGtologist] >>>Why should he? Or is this a question that has
       been haunting you?
If so, go back about 1000 jams, when the topic was HOT!<<<

[Ambassador] Man, I missed the jam right around then.
I don't see why the DREAM THEATER mailing list has 2 quibble over
these things. Do we really care? I was just annoyed slightly at
       this post.

Time 2 clarify: I was NOT annoyed at the PROGtologist's post. I reread
my post and it sounded like I was mad at him. Nope. He's cool.

If you are talking about the part that comes at around 5:11 or so in "Speed," it sounds to me
like the beginning ov the instrumental part before the keyboard/guitar harmony kicks in after
the second verse on Metropolis. It sounds a bit different though, but they may have sped it
    up or slowed it down.

I just got back from Best Buy having purchased the new Rush live album
Different Stages for a mere 16.99 (for three cd's!!!!!) Not to diss
DT in any way but I have to say that Rush is my all time favorite
band. I really wish I could have gotten into them earlier. I started
listening to Rush when I was a freshman in highschool, right after
Counterparts came out. They put so much emotion into their music and
it really shows on this live album. Now five years later and 19 years
of age, their music speaks to me more than ever.

I just returned from a Mike Portnoy drum clinic in Syracuse. It was
kind of strange considering I'm not even a drummer. It lasted 2 hours
and was incredible. I still can't believe I shook hands with the guy
and talked to him for about a minute...unbelievable.

The clinic consisted of Mike soloing for about 10 minutes...he spoke for
a little bit on some theory, especially time signatures and how he
implements them into his playing. He played along to "Paradigm Shift",
"Kindered Spirits", and "Universal Mind" off LTE. He played a medly of
about 40 drum clips of various songs to show how many songs out there
are identifiable just by drum parts...he did a few Zeppelin songs...some
Rush...he did "We're Not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister. He
demonstrated the beginning of the instrumental part to Metropolis. He
played along with "Erotomania". I think he did another Dream Theater
song, but I can't remember...it might have been "Take the Time" but
    don't quote me on that.

At the end of it, he openned the floor to questions. One of the
questions was about touring and he said he already booked a few dates
for right after xmas. He mentioned 2 of them: Toad's Place in New
Haven, and a show in Birch Hill, NJ. He said all the tour dates will be
added to UACM in the next few days.

All in all, it was a great night!

    Hey, all.

Just wanted to ramble a little. :-)

Imagine that: you sit down, do regular computer stuff, radio is playing on the background. All of a sudden you start to catch familiar names coming thru the speakers. The DJ and the co-DJ mention John Petrucci and Tony Levin quite a lot, then proceed to vote for best art rock albums (and Falling Into Infinity scores as the third). Some more brouhaha and off we wander with Liquid Tension Experiment and "Universal Mind". Some more praise in the general direction of Jordan Rudess & Michael Portnoy, then a lot of talk about the new Yes keyboard player (who comes from Moscow and presumably smokes on the keys).... And so on, and so forth, one and a half (or was it two?) hours in a row. Sometimes God smiles. That coming from an atheist is a big thing to say. :-)

Check out http://www.fusemag.com/, there's an in depth interview with Jordan Rudess and whoever else. :-)

Whoa yeh. Can't wait. It's told to be a regular show on Tuesday evenings. I'm starting to think a little better of my home country now.

Being a huge Cure fan myself.... Nope, it is not Cure cover! I think the Cure song you're reffering to is "Close to Me", Cure oldie which was remixed and released in cool fresher version on their "Mixed Up" album! But I definitely love seeing DT's diversity
