For the jammers that like RAY GILLEN, his last sessions are available at
Impulsemusic.com. They also have the new YNGWIE MALMSTEEN (everybody
please take a bow) video, "Live in Brazil" for 24.99. And the double cd

Well, you know, I can sing nearly an octave higher than that in falsetto
(and most people can and still make it sound decent), but that is NOT
falsetto. Go ahead and listen to LtL, TTT, AD, ACoS. They all E's which
are DEFINITELY not falsetto. LtL is an F#, so I'm SURE he can sing a G.
And he's got kids, so I guess he's not a castrotto... :)

david@iisweb.com
<<< that part is incredibly falsetto. Yeah, it's impressive that he sings
that high, but I think it sounds pretty cheezy since he can't add the
fullness of his natural voice. Plus, that line just seems to be way too
high in the mix relative to the otehr vocal parts, but that could just
be a characteristic of it's highness and thin tone. go listen to it,
and it's easy to hear the falsetto. >>>

I got into Tool right when "Undertow" came out, and I think that
Undertow's a little better. But a lot of people got into Tool after
Aenima, and like that best. I'll admit that I thought it was a little
"dull" at first. Too much excess sound effects (BS) between songs. But
you should give it more of a chance. It grows on you, and there's some
really cool parts buried in there, you just have to find them.

According to the IMDB, Trevor Rabin wrote the scores for the following movies:
The Glimmer Man (1996)
Con Air (1997)
Homegrown (1998)
Armageddon (1998)
Enemy of the State (1998)
Jack Frost (1998)
The score for The Rock (1996) was composed by Nick Glennie-Smith, Harry
Gregson-Williams, with "additional music" by Don Harpera and Steven M.
Stern, and "two themes" by Hans Zimmer. I believe Mr. Zimmer receives
primary billing for the score.
I have too much time on my hands :)

Hello,
>for the movie "Enemy of the State",
>that Trevor Rabin is doing the music?
I think Trevor is in contract with producer Jerry Bruckenheiner, as (to my
knowledge) he has scored every one of Jerry's films over the last three
years.
> Does anyone know all the songs where JP uses his 7-string ?
Awake:
6:00, CiaW, Voices, Mirror, Lie, Scarred? (not sure there),
and SDV is either dropped-D or a 7 string
ACOS:
ACOS
FiI:
New Millenium, JLMB
Those are the ones I know of. I have frequently wondered why, if so many DT
songs are on a 7 string, the JPM models are not 7 strings themselves. Not
that they don't kick ass in their own right.
And since I'm on the subject, a quick warning to all you guitarists: when
buying a geetar with a Floyd Rose, DO NOT BUY A BASSWOOD BODY GUITAR. I
just found out, after a $80 repair estimate, that most luthiers consider
basswood too soft to support a Floyd. In the case of my guitar, one of the
posts is angling forward in the wood because its too soft to support it.
And yes, the low-end RGs are basswood (mine's a Washburn MG, same thing as
an RG really). Just an FYI.

who sez ya gotta be perfect on a live album, anyway?
go pull out that Live After Death album, and listen to ol' Bruce sputter
and fumigate his way through the classics of maiden
literature....perfect he ain't, and perfect he didn't need to be.....
as far as Labrie, i'm not sure that I care that i can't quite understand
him at times, becauseu in those instances on disc, his voice basically
becomes another instrument in the dream theater arsenal
livewise, when he falters, agreed, it is kinda painful, because he's
either on, or way off, and rarely with any middle ground.....but as for
as the live enunciation goes, same as above applies, his voice is an
instrument, and we oughta enjoy it, knowing in our heads what he words
are, and fillin' 'em in with our own puny little (lack of any true)
vocal abilities......

I just got it for $15. I don't particularly like it. But I must be the ONLY
one. I heard nothing but raves about this one, so I bought it. I haven't
made it through one complete listen yet.
Just doesn't do it for me. Sounds like Malmsteen with Dio on vocals.
Oh well, to each his own. I also got Conception - In Your Multitude, which
just kicks all ass, and Superior - Behind, which rocks reeeeal good.
I also bought the highly recommended(by Ken Golden) Arkhe self titled CD, and
am having some real trouble getting into it. I like the tunes, but the guy is
just trying SO hard for that KJLB sound(maybe TOO hard), that it's hard to
digest. I'll keep trying with this one and SymX though, 'cause I would hate
