Correct: Macedonia is a part of Greece, though FYROM is not.

Could somebody clear up some confusion I'm having over the various versions
of the Dance of Eternity Boot CD.

The one I've recently acquired is a single CD recording (good quality) of a
93 show at the Impax club, Buffalo.
It has Eve on it (no samples, Doh) and other standard I&W, WDADU fare on
    it.

I recently saw a jammer posting about ACOS(orig version) being on a DoE cd
    he had.

    WHATS GOING ON..........??????

I've just become aware that Kiko from Angra and Jason Becker at one time or
another had put out instructional videos. If anyone knows where I can buy
these or even possibly trade if buying isn't possible, please email me.

I am also trying to track down a George Lynch instructional from JVC called
"Open Jam with George Lynch" if you can help with that also.

    Thanks.

As someone from Slovenia (yes it used to be a part of YU too) I have to
back up Dushko. Why the f**k won`t greeks just give it a rest. It`s
rediculous. And the way they tagged Macedonia with the name Former
Yugoslavian Republic Of Macedonia is just the biggest load of crap! I
generally like greeks, but they`r behaving like jerks when it comes to
Macedonia. How the hell would you like to be called Former Part Of
Alexander The Macedonian`s Empire? (and yeah! he was macedonian like
dushko and NOT from the area called Macedonia in Greece)

`Nuff of politics for today :)

Dushko, the CD will be in the mail tomorrow. Sorry it took so long, but
I just got home from Paris.

This is a pretty intersting answer. :)

Keep in mind that we're talking about 2 SEPERATE boots.
There's one, simply called "Dance Of Eternity," which is the show in
Buffalo (same show as "Dream Out Loud" from Kiss The Stone, I believe).
The other is called "THE Dance Of Eternity," which is the infamous 3/5/93
show w/ ACOS and Eve (w/ Samples).

            Make any sence now?

Yeah, Steve Vai has no emotion. Yngwie sucks. And Portnoy shouldn't use
two bass drums. Sherinian doesn't need his TriAxis and Trinity. Myung
should play with a pick, and LaBrie should sing death metal. You guys are
on crack. When you make emotion content objective, then maybe you could
argue relevantly about its existence in certain players' sounds. Until
then, your perspective is no more valuable than your opinion that Swedish
Fish are good until you've had your 43rd fish, at which point you want to
puke up a large solid red chewy lump.

Who can tell me that Yngwie doesn't have feel on his first two albums? Or
Vai on everything he ever did? Well, any of you can. But it doesn't mean
anything to me. I've been playing guitar for half of my life, and I'm
confident in my ability to make up my own mind about music tastes. Get a
    grip, yall.

    Heya Dushko,

I happen to know some things about Balkan history coz i'm fed up
with this stuff..being a GREEK and all (dont look at the email addy).
So i am sure of what i post here.I agree its a political matter
only and I have nothing against ppl who live in FYROM.You say
Greeks arent serious, what about the "macedonians" then who
claimed northern Greece is theirs and
sooner or later they'll even get Salonica etc..They wanted to
put all this in their constitution.Isnt it nonsense too?
Its funny how our politicians (both greek and yours) say only what
we want to hear..and we keep voting
You havent always been called Macedonia,Tito first used that name
(at least officialy) many a decade ago but greek politicians
were stupid enough not to complain (being busy with civil
wars and sending communists to deserted islands). Now if I start
using some name (more like "stealing" or borrowing it) and
after a looong time someone complains (doesnt matter if he's wrong
or right),do you think its a good excuse to say "Yes,but I've used
this name for a long time now,its mine"..Ask any lawyer and you'll
    see who's right.
I can also ASSURE you, there are NO "Macedonians" in northern Greece,
I have been there so many times,i have friends who study in all
these northern cities,i have relatives living there as well. There
are Greeks, muslims,a few bulgarians maybe or ppl coming from
southern Albania. And i doubt any of these minorities is being
supressed (as the Turks claim! funny how THEY have killed many a million
ppl from Kurdistan..its money thats talking here..german/american
investments in Turkey). If you find any "Macedonians" there let me
know :) I'd like to meet them (i'm serious).
You may have an american embassy there,so what? You're lucky enough
to be in the only ex-yugoslavian normal country..watch croatia and
serbia, they keep killing each ther..montenegro and slovenia are
somewhat ok too.Wouldnt the americans need a base in the Balcans? :)
Since we closed their greek bases a long time ago? Think man..
Anyway,I dont believe there are many ppl who care about this stuff,
no matter what I say,u'll keep using that Macedonia name and its fine
to me,I'm not gonna save the country..if we're to live in peace
you can use any name you like :) We'd rather stop here and
talk about DT only eh? We're not going to agree anyway.

ps your mom has a kewl job btw.
pss about ticketmasters...you ppl act like suckers sometime..
if you think the prices are too high, then dont go to the damn
gig! if DT were to split (*cross my fingers!*) and i had
the last chance to see their last gig and the ticket was
like $100,i'd say NO.I wont let anyone fool me,dont even
care if god himself is performing live.
psss someone said ppl who liked October Rust, will find Gathering's
Mandylion (which is a great album, imo. better than Nighttime
Birds) good too.Emm..what does Type O Negative have to do
         with the Gathering?? *curious*

I think the only reason it looked more 'Dream-Theateresque', is
because, well, that's what Dream Theater used. In any case I think
the new fonts have more to do with what fits with the artwork. Do you
imagine the FII cover with the old logo? It'd look STUPID. Besides,
bitching about fonts is like bitching about people's accents. Does it
    really matter?

IN regards to a previous question asked as such:

    >> >Was ACOS ever played live?

It has indeed. They played it instrumentally at Sundance back in the pre-LaBrie days on good ole Long Island. And it pretty much remained almost the exact same over the years, song structure that it. Pretty remarkable if you think about it. Even on the old demo's of the song, it sounds incredibly close to the current version.

Actually at the show they DID play it at, they did an all -instrumental set anyhow.

    Very cool.

There's a debate on the DT newsgroup about whether Lisa Marie played an early copy of OiaLT last night or a boot from a show in Paris (possibly the same show as OiaLT?).

Anyway, James was remarkably restrained (which is good), but I don't remember him being that way at all when Mike previewed OiaLT prior to his clinics. I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

I DO NOT remember Derek's intro to 'Lines in the Sand' being anywhere NEAR that kick-ass when I saw my only (sniff) FII show in Chicago last November. Whatever anyone says, the man can smoke, and the range of sounds he incorporated was amazing.

I saw Henry do a spoken word show in Austin this past weekend. A phenomenal show to
say the least. If any of you are interested in going, go to www.two1361.com , Henry's
book publishing company... check the News section for tour dates. When I saw him in
Baton Rouge, LA, they let us go backstage a few at a time to meet him ... and he
rocks... this time he came out and met those of us waiting around at the front of the
stage. He's a really cool guy. Also, his new book, "Solipsist", is really great... of
course so are all of them.

sorry about sending this again.. I was dumb :)

Maybe its just cause the band I was really into the most when I got into DT for the first time was Floyd, but I really love Storms work, especially the covers for Animals and The Division Bell. I'm pretty sure it was his idea to change the fonts, so you can blame him for that too ;-)

Yeah... at least now I have someone's ass to kick over the fonts :)

I would never say that Sorms work is bad... I just don't know if it says "Dream Theater" to me... I like the Floyd covers and I "like" the new Dream Theater covers. I just get a funny feeling (and I know I got the same feeling a while back when he did an Anthrax cover) of "Hey is that a Floyd cd?.. uh no.. it is Dream Theater" I think his work is SO recognizable as "Floyd" that it feel weird or out of place on anything else to me... :)

    To each his own... :)
