Wow, the jam has been moving slow the last couple days...

Ok, I know this may be a dumb question, but for the top 20, does it
have to be *1 recording*? Because then a compillation (KMFDM - Retro,
Tangerine Dream - Private music) would not count.

Are collections OK? I would assume yes, as it's a Desert Island
thing, but I just want 2 make sure.

I almost have a preliminary, and I'll know for sure after hearing OIALT.

    ThanX,

    -maX

Let's do this.... Let's try to find every detail on the new album that's
something exeptional.... (No jokes like: "all of it...", though it's
    true.....)

    I found:

cd 2, track 6: piece of "Enter Sandman" by Metalllica
cd 2, track 7: piece of "Paradigm Shift" by LTE

I heard lots more but can't find 'em that quick again.....

    Anyone found some?

yeah, let's completely kill the surprise for everyone who hasn't heard it
yet. it's their own damn fault for not having connections so they can get
promo copies. i think it's a good idea to at least write "spoiler" or sumfin
    in the subjectline. moo.

Well, considering the fact that no one in the States has gotten
their copies yet, except for radio-type people, I would suggest
holding off on this until at least the US release date (10/27).

If you do put in more moments, can you please at least put
some kind of spoiler message in the subject.

I hate to be anal and all, especailly considering that it's
only 4 days, but I'd like to get the full experience of hearing
the CD for the first time....

                                            thanks,

                                                    Al

No joke. After hearing FII fully in its entirety (in MP3 and RA formats) I
couldn't believe how much it ruined the album for me. Reading anything
about the little "surprises" would probably kill the moment for this CD,
too. Nothing is better than going into a "fresh" CD with no preset
    objections. :)

Preset objections? What the hell do I mean?

Some somber news for us cheap-ass Jammers (yes, me included...) :(

Well, it finally looks as though those CDNow people realized they were getting screwed and turned off the discounts given through the roadie contest. Now you can only enter in the sweepstakes for the free plane tickets (yeah, who's gonna play or care now??). Sorry to be the bearer of bad news for people like me who must've tried HUNDREDS of times using HUNDREDS of different names (relatives, friends, dogs, dogs' relatives, etc.) and never won that ever-so-elusive $50 discount - well, I tried!

    Hey Gang -

What's up, folx? There was a request for the Scarred Records URL. Here ya go:

    http://scarred.mit.edu

..And, there was also a request as to what "Stained Glass" was. It's a new boot coming out next year of the complete Rotterdam fan club gig. Supposedly, the quality is to die for. Check out the Scarred web page for more info.

That's all for now.... Buh Bye

Hey all! Well, as I have missed a lot of the jam a couple months ago, and several months before that (I joined in early 1997), I have completely missed the NIN thing. I know what's up with Blind Lemon, and James, and all that crap. But I don't know about NIN.

As we're not supposed to discuss this here anymore (I guess it got beat to Hell), could someone please enlighten me over private e-mail?

And I hope it's not just a "NIN suX, NIN rulZ" debate...

    ThanX,

Yes. Just like Socrates. And Bruce Lee. > Listen good 5/12 means there are 5 __***12th notes***__ per measure.

Max, you've said some damn crazy and pseudo-mean things, but this is what I've wanted to see for days - BREVITY. Should you ever see my guitar case you will find the above sentence posted inside. Right next to:

"Please explain to me the scientific nature of the whammy." --Agent Scully

After being prompted to go through my Intro To Music Theory 116 notes after your one-line lesson, I now know I was being what they call a "fucking bananahead."

    > If you don't even know what a time signature is, then shut up about it!

That's what my music theory teacher said the first day I walked into class. "What's a time signature?" "I don't know." "Then SHUT UP ABOUT IT!! I AM THE LIZARD KING!! I CAN DO ANYTHING!!"

If you haven't heard the re-vamped 1998 "Ice Ice Baby," you are missing out.
