This is probably an obscure reference that no one here is gonna know
about.. but Ill chance it. Does anyone know who wrote Enter Sandman
first? I heard Die Krupps doing it a LONG time ago, perhaps pre 80's.
Ive never been much of a Metallica fan, so I dont know when they
released their version. I was just wondering, cus on both albums it
says each band wrote the song, and I dont think thats possible.

    Cheers,
    Amanda

Hey, just wanting to say that I did hear the release for OIAL no the
radio the other day (96.7 KCMQ in Columbia, MO for anyone who might be
curious). If I remember correctly, I think it was in an ad for Slacker's
    new/used CD store.

Hi folks. I apologize for getting in the way of the 12th note jam, but I'd like to post a followup to a post I made earlier this year, where I said that the idea of progressive industrial was a type of music I'd been looking for for years, and did anyone know of any bands that fit that description?

No one had, unfortunately, so I decided I had to do it myself (I'm still looking for industrial prog bands, so if you know of one, email me).

Anyway, I have this little project called Grendel, which loosely falls into the category of industrial (e.g. dance metal). It's also somewhat prog, though more in the Frippian sense than the Dream Theater sense, If you want to check it out, there's music to listen to.

I now return you to the Love Stinks/Women Are Satan discussion.

The "dickmunch" you speak of was MP. He fessed up to it just as the DT/ELP/DP tour ended. . .

    That's how I read it.

i dunno about that tho - the impostor used netscape to send mail and mike uses AOL. i'm not one to call mike a liar, but maybe he was kidding when he "confessed"? i dunno. it would make sense that it'd be him, but would he really go through the trouble to use a different mail program just in case some people on the jam were somehow able to find out what prog you used? doesn't seem like something you'd think of just for a joke. just lettin ya know. moo.

Frequenting the live rock clubs, I kept running into a band that would change members at the drop of a hat. As their members changed so did their name.

So, by the third time their name ended in [insert name] Theater I asked the drummer what in the hell was going on with this "Theater thing."

Hearing a description of their music I picked up I&W about three months after it's release.

I've been completely hooked ever since.

Well, that isn't entirely true. The Ytsejam ICQ chat room does have some chats of its own...Though i agree, It doesn't compare with IRC. I provide an alternative for people who don't know how to use or don't want to use IRC. I also provide an mp3 server with rare B-sides and live tracks for people to sample at their own will. hey there! i can understand that those of you jammers who dont have OIAL yet dont want to know everything about it for some of the surprises might get lost (btw, you know the setlist, youve seen them live, so which surprises??) just one thing. am i the only one who notices the pan setting seems 180 degree wrong? i mean it is some sort of strange getting petruccis guitars on the left while he is always on the right side of the stage, also the drums seem to come out inverted (high toms left, low right). maybe it is just a mistake that happened somewhere at the mastering of the disc. i noticed this at some albums already for example i have allman bros on cd and vinyl and its inverted stereo channels there as well. but then again maybe its not just a mistake, but kevins mix. i would have prefered it the way you got it on stage. i know this is a stupid thread, but its just a different feel. (btw, my demo is also recorded channel inverted, so if you want my original mix change the stereo channels :) ) thats all for now, anyone having the same opinion? ytsegreetings --------- download my ingenious demo at http://www.users.cloud9.net/~textral/dryheat.html
