Metallica were definetely the first to compose "Enter Sandman"...
On the Metallica-home video "A Year And A Half In The Life Of Metallica,
part 1" you can see Kirk Hammet explain how he came up wtih the basic
riff.....
Die Krupps covered the song right after it was released....
The video is really cool by the way.... Metalli-guys in the studio and
all... Pickin' on each other...

I have OIAL, and really didn't notice, but seeing that it seems to happen to you a lot, maybe your system is wired wrong! ;-) But seriously... if it is mixed that way, maybe it's done that way on purpose to make you feel like you are on stage? huh huh just a thought.

Hi guys. I know it has been over a year since I posted and this is fairly unrelated but deal with it. I not only saw Journey in concert last night but I waited them out and MET them afterwards. It was absolutely incredible. They were phenominal, the new singer kicks ass. I know the tour is limited but if you have a chance to go see them you should do it. My roommate and I were some of the youngest people there and the band was quite amused by us. They were great guys, very willing to give autographs and chat. Not to mention an incredible performance. In summary, if you can. GO!!!

It was written by Metallica and released on their self titled "black" album in 1991. Die Krupps did a cover album of Metallica songs at one time (I don't know the name of the album or the year it was released), that had Enter Sandman on it. So to answer your question Metallica DEFINITELY wrote the song. And how the hell you heard Die Krupps do the song pre '80s is beyond me, since neither Metallica nor Krupps were around in the '70s.

If the panning was wrong, or the film was reversed so that JP was on the wrong side and the toms went in the wrong descending order, then JP and JM would be playing left handed on the vid. If that's not the case, then there is no error, is there?

Well, its a problem that can be easily fixed. Just listen to it with headphones on and switch them around, put the left part where your right ear is, and vice versa. Or just flip your speakers around (if they're not attached to your stereo).

I've always a band that would combine the bizarre experiments of Aphex Twin with the proggishness of Rush and the anthemic quality of U2. What a killer band that would be!

Nuno Update from http://www.kramerskorner/extreme.html October 21, 1998 - Nuno has completed his followup to Schizophonic and will be delivering the master to Japan this week. It should be out in Japan before year end. It was originally to be out in August, but since things did not work out with Mangini Nuno had to play all of the drums himself and it took a bit longer than expected. Nuno is still looking for a new drummer; He has tried out a few but has not found the right one yet. Regarding the name of the band, Mourning Widows (as reported on numerous other sites) is being considered, but is NOT yet official. He had other names, but they were taken by other bands elsewhere. Apparently it is difficult to find a name that is not already taken!

What you're referring to is called mixing from "Drummers Perspective". Its a pretty common practice, and it comes in wicked handy when playing drums (or air drums) to a CD. I actually prefer drummers perspective to the other "audience perspective". As a general rule of thumb, audience perspective is how a lot of european albums are mixed, while most stuff in the states is from drummers.
