I'm a bit bit picky on what goes into my rack and after I got a Replifex I stoped looking for FX units anyway, if You are into heavy processing it might not be You cup of tea but if You into subtle effects vintage style with no sound degradation and no glitches when switching sounds this might be the one. It's shure the one for me.

And we're glad you're here. Just because some guy thinks it is a good idea to slag you and Derek doesn't mean the rest of us don't appreciate the time you take to post first hand information and contribute to the jam's content. Also, great work on 5YiaLT!

On to other things, I went to the Dave Matthews Band concert tonight, and apparently they have hired a guy to play Chapman Stick. Either that or they just brought him in for the concert, but the guy can play. I didn't catch his name, but it is nice to see "unconventional" instruments being used in "popular" bands. Some retard behind me kept calling it a sitar...I thought that was amusing! Anyway, he played a solo on it, and I kept waiting for the opening of New Millenium!!! It was a great concert though, if you are into DMB. I like to think of them as the 90's version of Simon&Garfunkle. Folky songs, but with definte lasting power.

    Waiting patiently for:

This is my post... This is my post on OIAL =====0 (Boingggg) Any questions?

I was stalking the clerk of my favorite CD store at 12:01 AM. Six minutes later, I had the THE disk in in my hand.

THANK YOU DREAM THEATER! This is like digital sex. Sherinian is on fire! Anyone that still questions this man's abilities should seek professional help. And so should Portnoy! (the HAL 9000 of drummers) Petrucci and Myung both have outdone themselves here. (like that's possible) LaBrie has his flawed moments, but he also has his moments of greatness. You have to give LaBrie credit, his "instrument" has far more variables than his band mates. He will always be a cut above the rest. (Bar Alder)

Again, Dream Theater has provided us with a masterpiece that will be enjoyed for many years. THANKS AGAIN GUYS! -------------------------------------------------------- On a lighter note....

It's been nearly a week since my Ytse-scolding. I got off easy. I just had to soak my head in a vat of pickled rhinoceros phlegm for one hour, and say four "Hail Dream Theaters" I'm forgiven! (I think:)

PS: I met one of the local Pro Mark reps at the CD store tonight. We were both there for the same thing! Hehehe... He may be joining the Jam shortly. (I enlightened him)

    Later!

NP: King's X - Tape Head. First listen... So far I like it. The recording drips with bottom end. THICK AND HEAVY

You know, this ceremony is always the same: Everytime DT released a CD, LTE or AOI, we meet, drink some beer and try hard to get this grin out of our face... This CD absolutely ROCKS! Cannot believe I got it in my hands. As always: I'm not worthy <bG>

    Was that a spoiler?

Anyone who goes without this video is out of their mind.

The first third, I was like 'Well, that's nice. O.K., but nothing great'. From Rotterdam Part 2 on (which is about 2/3 of the tape) it is amazing beyond words, and I'm pretty picky.

And I don't care what anyone says, as the owner of some short hair myself, Mike looks about 100% better (as he did at the clinics), and it's GOT to feel better. Fashion/Grooming content over.

Joey is a good friend of the band and will probably continue working with them, but not an official member. Ray has said in interviews that they like keeping the band down to 3 people so that they can get stuff done without too much arguing :)

Jim is currntly working on his next solo acoustic CD (for those who haven't heard his first one -- First Impressions, I urge you to go to http://www.ivorygate.com/fw/discog.htm and check out some sound bytes...it is great)... After he finishes that, he said he'll begin writing the next Fates album...

Portnoy tore up the clinic last night Phoenix needless to say... playing a couple of LTE songs, the middle part of Metropolis, Erotomania, a solo, and "name that tune" with famous drum riffs... Great to meet up with all the PHX metalheads Vinnie, Nate, Eckie, et al... Congrats to Jay on winning the drum off! It has to be pretty intimidating to be given 4 minutes to show your stuff in front of a crowd of drummers, including beig judged by some professionals... Oh yeah, and Mike P. was there watching too! :-) A big "shut the hell up already" to Pistol Pete (not like he even knows who DT is and wouldn't be reading the Jam anyway)...

Picked up the CD and Vid at midnight before the trip home, disc one finished up just about 5 minutes before I arrived at home... it is a killer CD... tiem to crank disc two on the way into work and check out the video later tonight...

Hey Jammers, my copy of OIALT was sent to me on Oct 23, I recieved it yesterday and all I have to say is WOW! BTW for the people interested in searching for the hidden snippets of songs they are listed inside the liner. WOW! THIS ROCKS! As far as the recording perspective speaking as a drummer it sounds like any other DT album (toms high to low in order from left to right, etc....). Have I said WOW yet ?!

    Hey,

Ok, so OIAL is there when I get home but I resist listening to it until the kids go to bed (as great as they are - you can't concentrate on music when they're around). So what do I think...? FANTASTIC! I think the mix is good and the performance and sound is honest. This is as live as it gets and everyone is on fire. James is right on the money, he proves once again that he is one of the best, if not the best rock singer out there (did he really keep it up for 3 hours that night? - ooooh err). And all those Derek doubters can just fuck off right now. I love the arrangements and the choice of tracks is very cool indeed. MP and JP are as annoyingly impressive as ever and JM is so solid, there's no way he's getting enough fiber! Regrets...? Only two... I would have liked BMS and HK on there (I know I'm greedy), and I wished to hell that I was in Paris that night...ah well at least I got Nightmare Cinema at the Forum (me happy after all).

OK time to say it's great to be in Arizona. The Drum-off? Portnoy clinic was Awesome. First off while waiting for the drum competition we get to hear this music that sounds very familiar yet new. Wow it sounds like MP on drums, and those Keys sure sounds like Jorden Ruddess, and the bass strange enough reminiscent of Tony Levin.....could it be.....Yes!!!!Mike brought along oh, about an hours worth of LTE2 stuff. DROOL!!!! The drum comp was pretty good including a 14 year old kid that was pretty darn good for his age. Then Mike "The Man" played. First a kick ass solo, then he played along with Paradigm shift, Kindred Spirits, the instrumental section of Metro. w/ help from the crowd, Erotomania, a medley of recognizable "drum riffs" (which was way cool by the way Mike) and closed out with Universal Mind before he had to "run" to catch his plane. Overall it was an incredible experience! Many thanks Mike for your undying devotion to the fans, and a big hello to the AZ Ytse crew good to see you all again.
