I had read on their website that because so many leagues have their
draft scheduled for Thursday, that it may take a few days for all of
those drafts to process. They said that you most likely won't have any
time to make any roster moves before Sunday's games. No benching, no
    waivers, etc.

    Hi all

I was listening to the Platypus album early this morning, and I couldn't help noticing a strong similarity between the track "I'm With You" and some of the songs on the last Silverchair album. Anybody else notice this? And now you biology assignment: which other mammal (other than the duck-billed platypus) also lays eggs? Will there soon be a project with Dream Theater participation named after this animal?

O.K., I've not yet heard the new Enchant but...

I've seen one or two reviews that toally contradict Arash - huh, go figure. In fact, one was by someone who had never heard Enchant before, and their general impression (after hearing rumors that the new album was not very 'progressive') said something to the effect that, 'It seems complex enough, I don't know what the complaining is about'.

Remember, tons of double bass and a flurry of 32nd notes does not a 'progressive' band make. Of course if you're an Empty Tremor addict, you may forget that from time to time.

I was pleasantly surprised when I got my mail out of my mailbox and there was an envelope from Paul Cashman. I haven't listened to Younique completely yet, but it is a bit different from their previous release.

A better review will be forthcoming. I just wanted to let the word out that the shipment is sent!

Just looked through the cd booklet. I forgot it was supposed to be signed by the band...

Says Andre Matos sings backing vocals. What songs? Sounds like he might be on track 4.

What you probably saw was a promotional interview for the "recent" (well, it came out here a month or two ago, and has been in rotation on my CD player ever since) Archive 1967-75. Peter came in and rerecorded some of the obscured vocals on the live tracks (as his costume pieces interfered with the sonic quality). And, yes, all of the former members got together again for a photo op and to shoot the shit. But there are no plans to reconvene the original Genesis lineup. The new lineup is here for now.

Oh yeah, quite a bit in the jazz rock world. More or less they're always the same folks around him:

    - The regular ones:

Steve Gadd - drums Anthony Jackson - bass Mingo Lewis - percussions Barry Miles, Jan Hammer - keyboards, synhts,...

    - Sometimes guests on his albums:

Stanley Clarke - bass on some titles (you bet he's famous ;) Lenny White - drums Alphonso Mouzon - drums Jaco Pastorius - bass (a bass legend, Weather Report band) Chick Corea - keys (legend ...... er,... no comment :) Paco De Lucia - acoustic guitar (the master of flamenco guitar)

I guess he was calling his old friends from Return to Forever to join him wheneve he liked. :) All this counts for his 5,6 first albums, I don't know about later when he sailed the calm waters.

Hope it helps, Dushko ------------------ \|/ _____________________________o_o_______ <| \ / |> <| "Chuck! Chuck! I hope that it's different from their previous releases, 'cause I've heard some pretty glowing praise about this band in the past, and I ordered this one without ever hearing them.

After two listens, I'm unsure of where the hype came from. It's ok, but I'm not hooked yet.

I'll get back to you after further listens.

Nice to see people you "know" in the liner notes, shame they couldn't spell Pammy's last name(or is everyone else wrong?).

Thanks, Mr. Cashman, for the service, and I'll highly recommend you to my friends. :)

    Back to listening, Kez

Found this on the Highway Star. Pretty funny.

    >>> September 4 Deep Purple Singer Charged With Assault Deep Purple frontman Ian Gillan will have to make a return appearance in Pontiac, Mich., now that prosecutors have charged the 54-year-old singer with a misdemeanor stemming from a concert at Pine Knob Aug. 15. The Associated Press reports that Gillan, upon witnessing the treatment of a fan by security guard Michael Kennedy, took his microphone and struck Kennedy in the head with it, causing a minor cut that didn't need medical attention. In a statement sent to investigators, Gillan said that he thought Kennedy's actions could have incited a bigger situation. "With 12,000 people at fever pitch," Gillan wrote, "the last thing you need to introduce is the ingredient violence. What would happen if the fan was with a large group of friends who decided to get involved by wading in with fists and feet? If it happens again, I will do the same thing. I have witnessed the consequences of these things in action, and they range from worse to far worse." For his part, security guard Kennedy said, "We were not roughing [the fan] up," adding that he "was just doing my job." Bruce Payne, Gillan's manager, said that Kennedy's "pride was probably hurt more than his head." "I've seen everything at Pine Knob," Dirk Feneley, a sheriff's deputy for Oakland County, told Pontiac's Oakland Press. "But I've never seen it where the lead singer bends over and hits someone." The truth is, that prog has a damn sight more integrity than commercial music. The word 'commercial' says it all; it's composed to rake in the biggest audience possible, to make money. The music is formulated. You'll find that almost every piece of commercial music has a verse/chorus layout, just because that's what everyone else in commercial music does, and that the writers don't seem to realise anything else is possible. I'm fed up of people calling people elitist snobs just because they put commercial music down. Wake up people, they're right.

We live in a time in which art is corrupted by money and fame, but most people don't seem to realise it.

Superior goes in various directions on this disc from their previous effort.

Track1-Not With Me:muscially sorta reminds me of Sepultura, then the Superior vocals and sound kicks in.

Track2-God's Funeral:is basically a hard driven metal tune

Track3-Nothing:starts off very slow and very soft. It then slowly grows into a rocking tune with some cool vocals.

Track4-Think:some wacky vocals on this one. Musically it rocks. Sounds like Matos sings on this but probably not...

Track5-Stop:another tune that starts out slow and soft. Then about halfway into the tune, Superior does NIN...

Track6-Be Mine:a slow tune that has some great vocal harmonies. It does have some heavier moments. I like the vocals on this one.

Track7-Amok:sorta sounds like they are going to NIN again, but turns into a rocking tune.

Track 8-Free Minded:starts out sounding like a Japanese tune. Turns into a Swing type tune, has some rocking parts and a Swing instrumental piece.

Track 9-Detect:Myself:Matos definitely sings on this one. Starts out slow and turns into a rocking tune.

Track 10-This Promise:An incredible ballad. A great way to end the disc.

Dont buy this cd thinking it will be similar to Behind. They try a lot of new things. At first it is unexpected but repeated listens reveals that overall this cd rocks...
