Hmm. Well, I think this information is wrong. The Jap. version should have _2_ bonus tracks. Sweet Pretence and the acoustic version of Why. I don't want to say here that you told us bullshit here... maybe just the guys from KotR got it wrong...

Thanks for the info though!! :)

Damnit. These two awesome bands are FINALLY playing together, and it's too damn far away to drive to. Phoenix = Megadeth hometown.....DT has only played Phoenix once in the last 4 years...Time for a show? I think so :)

    Hi all

here's the first of the reviews I promised yesterday.

    ELECTRIC WIZARD - Supercoven

The masters of down-tuning, fuzz, distortion, sludge and monsterous jams are back. Try and imagine old Black Sabbath jamming with Kyuss. Add Hawkwind's space vibes. Down-tune everything so that the bass seems to come from the bowels of the earth itself. Make the shockwaves that come from the tattered shreds of your speakers almost tangible. Mix in an amazing ability to write riffs bigger than the Alps, coupled with the improvisational skills to turn these riffs into psychedelic jams of brain-wrenching dimensions. Now you know what this mini album is about. Only 2 songs ('Supercoven' and the mind-expanding 'Burnout') but 32 minutes of excellent stoner rock/ doom metal. These three guys play stoner/doom in perfection. Their last album "Come My Fanatics" redefined doom for me, and this is even better. Just listening to this album gets you high. Tune in, turn on and drop out. 10/10

stay safe and happy listening Neil Gallop (nga@software-ag.de) Currently playing: Anathema - Pentecost III

If you want shred check out Racer X this is Paul Gilberts old band from his MIT days. It is chok full of shred from everyone in the band. There are at least 2 cds they put out on Shrapnel Records. Juli

Well I don't know too much about this but I have a Tascam 414 which does absolutely everything I need it to do (just me doing my own stuff in my bedroom) it cost me 300 UK Pounds - I'm not sure of the cost in the US (I've made it a point not to find out incase I feel hard done by). I would suggest you go digital if you can afford it though.

    Cheers,

What is this? I've been a fan of theirs since 1978 (Yup, saw 'em In The Round in '79!), and I never heard of this...... Are you looking for Fragile, maybe? It's the CD that contains Roundabout.

I was hoping that someone could offer a recommendation on Marillion. I have seen then mentioned here many times but have never heard anything by them. I just saw where Misplaced Childhood is being re-released along with a bonus CD of alternate takes/mixes. Is it worth getting? All reviews or recommendations would be appreciated. Generally I think science fiction-fantasy type songs were and may still be typical of prog metal songs. Look at DT's A Killing Hand, early Crimson Glory songs about Dragons, early Fates, Shadow Gallery, early QR. I'm sure there are a lot more that I can't think of at the moment...

I sorta hope they don't do another concept album. It is sorta getting old after the above 2 plus the trans-siberian-Orchestra disc, and APSOG.

Granted all 4 of the above concept albums are great but its time to just put out a normal hard driving normal cd...

Perhaps you should ckeck out James Murphy's 'Convergence'. It features D= een Castronovo (Vai, Working Man Rush Tribute) on drums, Devin Townsend (Vai,=

Hello Everybody, Below are the three new DT boots that are out in Japan. What's interesting is that, unlike 95% of new boots that are out in Japan, these are silvers and not CDRs. Although the prices are rather exaggerated (eg. JPY 5900 = $ 45 before postage), they might be interesting, especially considering that "Nightown Nostalgia" is obviously a boot from the Rotterdam fan-club gig, while two others are soundboards. If anyone scraps enough funds to get them, please do not forget to post reviews about them on the jam :). Oh, and by the way, you can order them and many others at www.cd-gold.co.jp
