On last night's episode of the Ytsejam, someone rambled about some
vote that's been going on ...

Let's face it, even if all 1400 of us vote for ACoS, there's no way it'll become
song of the millenium, since the bitch running the vote is Garth Brooks'
biggest fan, president of his fanclub, moderator of his mailing list, etc...

    Sir Korg Ecksthrey commented:

    >You're asking the people who lived at the last 50 years out of a thousand to
    >vote? What about the other 550 years worth of people? Don't they get a

    >so down on dead people. I oughtta get my great grandpappy to sue the bitch
    >running the voting for mortical harrassment or something.

And can someone please tell me when the powers that be decided there
are only 600 years in a millenium instead of 1000? 8-P

1000 years in a millenium? Where the hell are you from? Bill Gates imposed
this whole thing. With all the problems coming with the Y2K thing he
declared milleniums to be only 600 years long. There was no grandfather
clause, so therefore, milleniums always have been 600 years long as of his
speech. Forget the 1000 year thing. It never existed theoretically.

Um, I listen to DT AND Bush, although I must say their first album (16 Stone) with Everything Zen etc is the one I prefer.

I also listen to a WHOLE lot more diverse stuff besides.

Eg., Marcus Miller, Mike Oldfield, Marillion, Beethoven, Rachmaninov, Pat Metheny, Massed Pipes and Drums of the Scots Dragoon Guards, Los Trios Paraguayos, Passion Grace & Fire (McLaughlin, Di Meola and De Lucia), Chopin, Debussy, Puccini (esp La Boheme), Cyclone Tracy, Angra, Glenn Hughes, T Ride (whatever happened to them?), Roundabout (Yes), the list is endless. It just has to sound good and have some sort of musical structure/score .........

I do draw the line at the Spice Girls though ;-)

Didn't the drummer on Rock School call himself Carl Palmer? Can it possibly be the same guy that everyone on the 'jam was really raving about after the DT/ELP/DP shows over the pond?

And if we're reminiscing, don't forget Tommy Vance and the Friday Rock Show. I remember the first time I heard 'Let It Rock' by Bon Jovi before they hit the UK (OK, OK, but it was a long time ago, I was young and needed the money...)

I just read the liner notes like Mike is always telling us to and it says that Chris & Kevin is a duet of just him and Tony Levin.

It also says in the DTIFC magazine Fall issue that the photographer kept on getting their names wrong and called Mike and Tony 'Chris & Kevin', which is where the title of that track came from ....
