    >album was a "total piece of crap", and the Promised Land had a few

    >"suckdom".

C'mon, Josh. Pessimism is so unattractive (that may explain why I'm a
bloated scruffy sleazeball, but hey!). I'm really interested in hearing
stuff from the new album... I think the thing that QR needs to do more of
is pay attention to the rythmn section. I'm sure Eddie's got some good
ideas for songs, and after watching/ripping audio/making a Technovoid CD
last night, I sure as hell know that Scott's got the ability to carry QR on
his back if they needed someone to dump the writing on. I like Scott's
stuff. It's really moody and vague. He never gets enough attention from
the rest of the band I think...

And Hear in the Now Frontier wasn't bad. I think they just had shitty
production/distortions/everything. The songs kicked ass, I just hate that
dirty sound through the whole album. If the production had been as clear
and pristine as Empire's and Promised Land's, I think it would have kicked
ass. Don't knock Promised Land with me around, though. It's my fave CD of
    theirs. :)

But I have to agree with the Q2K crap. Fuckin' sellouts. People won't buy
the album now because it might make the toasters play muzak or something.
Honestly, I hope to hell something nasty terrible icky bad happens on New
Year's, just so all of the silly-ass worrywarts won't be let down.

But if you want an inside secret... Furbies counteract Y2K phenomena. If
you have a furby, you needn't fear anything!

Y2KorgX3 strokes his Furby aptly named, "Doo-doo."

And most likely we will be tabbing it in text format unless someone knows a good tabbing software that is easy on the eyes to read. The present ultimate shareware for tab is Power Tab (just run a search under that)

its the best it supports 4,5 and 6 strings and soon will have a 7 string patch....the interface takes a few minutes to grasp but its worth it....so far ive transcribed 3 of my own originals which is a first for me...i did so because the software is so easy to use you can add text/chord diagrams of your design(font) and titles.

Guitarists are also welcome to help. I hope i just did...its one of the very few programs im actually considering registering ;>

Maybe it will be a kick-ass album and I'll look stupid. I hope so. I'll pay that price for another good ryche album.

In this case I hope you look like a blithering fucking moron.....but somthing tells me you wont since I am with your theory. Promised land reminds me of the sinking scene in TITANIC and that last piece of crap belongs in the cylindrical file along with anything from that freakish pale place musicians decline to when the fire has burned out

After watching Metallicker go down the fuckin hole then queensryche followed.....and then to top it off Ozzy almost went there w/Ozzmosis

whos next? just to keep it DTC...during all of this DT was my sanctuary as the aural defecation splattered across the scene (eww! huh)

    Hi Gang -

I saw the post about where to find the new Rhapsody for cheap. For some strange reason, CDNow (and I think Music Boulevard too, but I could be wrong) sell the $60 Rhapsody box, but not the individual CD. For the cheapest prices around for all your prog and power metal needs, look no further than Empire Entertainment (www.empireent.com). I think the new Rhapsody is something like $12.98 there. TONS of other dirt cheap releases that are hard to find anywhere else. I've dealt with them before, and they are great. Very quick shipping, and the guy Oliver that runs it is a great guy to deal with. Highly recommended site. BTW, the album pretty much rocks... I just got it a little while ago. But that narrator!! Ack!! You guys weren't kidding!! :-P

    Hope this helps!!

Back to work I go.... Matt T.

Are you bitter about DeGarmo's departure?

    >Maybe they could call it Queensryche Dance/Jock Mix '99.

Maybe it should be "Queensryche: Brought to you by the letter K"

    >Not to mention, when you hear phrases like "This album will be >refreshing and different", that tends to mean, "This album will suck >because we are out of ideas." Normally i pass over stuff like this, but the above is unrelenting and brutal. Question: have you gone to their website to listen to clips of their new album? I'm assuming not. Also, the review I heard, and agree with, is that it has some Mindcrime feel to it. and Kelly Gray sounds fine. That's just my FIRST impression after listening to the sound clips. :)

    Hey everyone,

This week's "From the Vaults" selection at Lines in the Sand is DT's performance in Kassel, Germany, 6/20/95

Special thanks go out to Bungle for supplying Lines in the Sand with this show. This show is an audience recording but a good one! Dream Theater put on a great show and it's nice to hear the audience so energetic about the music. Oh, and how many times have you heard Petrucci perform Wait For Sleep live on acoustic guitar? (Ok for those of you with Acoustic Dreams, don't answer :P)

Anyways, you can find MP3s from the Kassel, Germany 6/20/95 show at Lines in the Sand. The URL is below.

    Take care, Bogie

I have no idea where you found this piece of "information", but according to Billy Sheehan none of the people mentioned above have been contacted about working on his solo album.

I was browsing Ice Magazine's web site today (a magazine dedicated to soon-to-be-released music), and under the release dates they show James LaBrie's solo project, Mullmuzzler - Keep It To Yourself, being released this Tuesday, May 4th. They also report that Kenny Lee of Frank Zappa's band is guest performing.

Normally, I would ride off such information as being incorrect because Magna Carta is reporting on their web site that the release date for Keep It To Yourself is August 24th. However, Ice Magazine does have the appropriate release dates for other Magna Carta releases such as Dali's Dilemma first album (which is HOT!) and LTE's second release (which is also smokin'!). So, it makes me wonder if they are also right about the Mullmuzzler release date.

Anyone have any leads on this?

I saw that review of the Power of Omens CD, and I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts about them. I am slightly intrigued from the sound clips on their web page, mostly because these are the kinds of bands that usually build on me. Their singer IS Geoff Tate though...It is quite weird. It's like listening to a proggier Queensryche.

My favorites are DT, SX, SB, Angra, Superior, FW, among others.

So what are everyone's opinions that have the CD? Thanks for any help.
