Hey yo, Andreas, please... this is of very little interest to other jammers...

And now, for something completely different...

On the subject of Tony MacAlpine, yup, he kicks some serious ass. Check out Maximum Security for some great moments - he blends monster chops with great melodies and emotion.

I can't wait to see him with Planet X...

Geddy and Alex did a bonus track for the South Park movie soundtrack. It's the Canadian anthem, and Terrence and Phillip sing with them.

Just some random trivia for you all.

anyone know what kind of drum that is in another dimension? You know, the one during the "belly dancing" section - you guys know what i mean. Whatever that thing is, it reminds me of a toy drum i had as a kid - it was a few inches in diameter, on a stick, with little wooden balls on strings that hammer the drum when you roll the stick between your hands.

Oh, hey, all you guys gotta go see Mystery Men right away! Especially if you were disappointed by BWP. All the sheep will avoid MM, and so you'll enjoy it more. And it's the funniest film I've seen in long time, much more so than the SP movie or There's Something About Mary. And if anyone here happens to be a fan of the DC justice league comics from the early nineties, that were hysterical, then this movie is meant for you.

AWOL is a military term - it stands for "Absent WithOut Leave." Basically, it means that you're somewhere you're not supposed to be, and nobody else knows where you are.

I wouldnt say I like Rods playing more than Mike's but I do understnad the free in a way part. Plus, Rod is an lefty. Is Rudess/Morgenstien project any good people? Speaking of Dave Weckl, I have his basic instructional video and he can do open stroke rolls with one hand! Talk about some chops! I have his Master Plan, its awesome. I really didnt like Dennis Chambers when he first came into the drumming world. For one, he played on Pearl Exports. What kind of a fool does that? Havent been much into him since then but I do admitt he is awesome. Another Drummer I really respect is Carter Beauford, he can wail. On the higher end of alternative Mat Cameron is pretty awesome also. well thats it

What a moronic pile of crap... "If she plays this cut-out violin, then it is really not a big deal." .. Is music about difficulty? Who gives a shit what instrument she's playing on. She's good and you can't denie it. She might not be the best violinist this world has ever seen (as some people belive), but she's damn good at what she does. I like her music alot, because it's more open for different styles. I think what she does is progressive in some way.

Damn I hate it when people bash artist just because they'r successful. Get a life!!

    *grumble*

    Matej

P.S: The only thing I dislike her for is that attitude of a spoiled rich prodigee girl she has. The music I'm quite content with. But then again, that's all that really matters.

-This is strange!! -I just recently had a "Flashback" on the 80's, and dug up some old Shred-Music...and among that were the Tony MacAlpine "Maximum Security". (IMO this is the best CD/Record of him.) -So now I've burnt out my speakers, and even rehearsed a few "sweeps" on my guitar again... -It should be difficult to top that record, as far as technical precision-surgery, in 180 mph, goes... I mean: He obviously executes with a red-glowing razor, and his strings must be coated with teflon!! -Awake the Guitar Gods!

    What up, punks?

This is Dr. Teeth, new owner and manager of the Minnetonka Ultraviolence. Now rumor has it that this FILTHY list doesn't have enough WORTHLESS participants to kick around in our ESPN league.

IS THAT TRUE??? Is it because you're afraid that I'M going to personally HAND YOU YOUR ASS THIS YEAR??? Or because you're simply afraid of your own wimpering lack of ability to handle a team in the same league as us?

For God's sake: It's only $29.95! You can't possibly expect to pay a professional Dominatrix that little for HER to beat your sorry ass red. This is a STEAL! Enter our league and JOIN IN THE PAIN!!!!

I promise, when I crush your team and the rest of the puny league, I'll only gloat a *little*. MWAHAHAHAHAAAAA!

    Hey -

Yesterday, I ordered my Iced Earth Triple Live CD set from Century Media. I think it's been out for a little while now, and I'm sure SOMEONE on the list already has it (*wink*).... so how 'bout a quick review? :-) How's the sound quality? More often than not, I am disappointed with the mix on live CD's. I was wondering how the mix and performance is on the Iced Earth.

    Thanx in advance!!

    Hey guys,

Partha did ask: >anybody know what that does to the release of "the ladder" -- not that i >knew Yes was in the studio at all....

According to their Web Page (http://yesworld.com/index.html) the CD should be released on September 28. There are links to Tower Records where you can pre-order, you can also download some Liquid Audio samples of the CD and a whole song "Lightning Strikes". Kinda sounds a bit Latin to me, I look forward to the album. I was a bit disappointed with Open Your Eyes when I first heard it but, to be honest it's really grown on me now.

Any more info about the Korea gig that DT did the other day. I've read what MP had to say about it but I would love to hear a review from someone who was there, like how did Jordan fit in, what did he do with the old material etc...

    Desperately seeking DTC,
