hi all,
getting extreme's first piece is also interesting for the song that contains
'beethoven in the shopping mall - bill and ted's excellent adventure' - the
name just escapes me, but Nuno wrote that.
When I was at the Birch Hill King's X show they played a slow song, ballad I
guess, where the audience sung everything, from beginning til end. I guess
this is a classic. Can somebody tell me the name and the album please?
I don't know if this is old, but in the guitar magazine with Motley Crue on
the cover Petrucci said that he tried to bring his found again passion for
shredding into the new album.
Again, about a year ago, somebody who was not on the list(I think he was
kicked out and his name was something dog) wrote an essay in 2 parts about
DT lyrics and how it's obvious that JP is the man pulling the strings. Who
has that?
Oh, and I was listening closely to I&W today, did anybody notice that PMU
has a very abrupt ending?
chuckle,chuckle,
schnipp

I was just wondering what some of you thought of the Carvin Bass amps or
guitar amps. I am thinking of buying the Rl1018 Bi-amped bass system, which
is around 1300 bux so I would like some feed back on the quality of their
amps.
Thanx,

Hey man thats better than me. So far I think I am the only
person from Kentucky on the ytsejam. I have quite a few
friends who love DT but they aren't subbed to the list.
Oh well I guess it doesn't matter as I am moving to Florida
next week. Speaking of DT and touring... Has DT ever made
a stop in florida? Specifically Orlando?

Heheh. Try being the only Idahoan on the list. It's funny when you think
about it. I think 1/2 of the list subscribers (at least) are non-American.
We have japs and canucks, krauts and cockneys, frogs and wops, aussies and
even maybe an abbo or two. :) Not to mention all the spics. So I guess us
damned yanks shouldn't expect to run across each other as much as we'd like
to think. :)

Hey all.. Just heard the new Sevendust song on a local radio station here.. The song kicks ass! I like for more reasons than that it rocks... I really dig the singer, Lajon... When he really *sings* he can belt it out like the best of the black rock singers that I have heard (Corey Glover comes to mind) I must say however, when I saw them on Ozzfest '97 I was disappointed with the vocals.. Lajon screamed all of them and growled and didn't use his voice to its ability. As for Dee Snider, rumor has it that between his projects as a morning show man and the new *live* Twisted Sister album that he will be working on a new screenplay as a sequel to "Strangeland" a movie that I liked, especially for the soundtrack. He has plans to "retain" some of the bands from the first album... quite mixture of bands.. Just in case you didn't know who was on the first album, Dee Snider (solo), Twisted Sister (reunion song), Sevendust, Megadeth, Anthrax, Marilyn Manson, Coal Chamber, Snot and many more (some of which I could do without, but for the most part they were all pretty cool) If you don't have this soundtrack (and you are a fan of "new-wave" metal music) I recommend it highly. saw two jams in my in-box back to back, read the post asking about Portnoy's rap (p?)references, and thought, "oh no, here we go again."
Seeing how the server just burped and sent me two of the same issue, I am so far wrong in thinking that any sort of war has ensued. But, given this forum history of throwing that form of music and its merits, demerits, poseurs, artistes, thugs and public-spirited citizens around, can we do each other a favor, and pass up the chance to make any comment we might otherwise feel we have to make on the subject?

Hi, folks!
Well, the Mullmuzzler contest has been a fun one. I hope all of you liked it as well. Since I need to put up the notice on the website about the IRC Chat, I'll draw the contest to a close.
The answer to question #1 (what track is my Mullmuzzler soundbite from) is Shores of Avalon! This has been a pretty popular soundbite ranking #2 for the past couple of weeks on number of downloads. And this little contest moved it up to #1! Since it's on the website <http://www.artist-shop.com/magna>, no one should have gotten this wrong. But one person did.
The answer to question #2 (what date do we have planned for a James LaBrie IRC Chat) is Wednesday, September 8. Since no one got this right (not even the fellow who sent me 14 entries!!!) I've decided to go with the person who came closest to the date.
Question #3 was to give your name and mailing address so as to send the winner his prize. And much to my surprise, someone actually got this one wrong by stating his e-mail address instead of his mailing address!
But, without further ado our winner is (Mike Portnoy, drum roll please....)
Shane Hunziker!
Although no one correctly guessed Wednesday, September 8, Shane came closest with a guess of September 7. Congratulations Shane! I'll get this promo copy of Mullmuzzler off to you soon. Don't forget to do a review!

Hello jammers. I haven't been checking out the jam last couple days so if I'm bringing up an old subject, sorry, but have you heard the MullMuzzler album? I just received a promo a few days ago and have been listening to it nonstop. It is a great album, it's not as insanely technical as old DT, but it is definitely prog a lot of the way through. Not as complex, but definitely it has that progressive vibe we've come to hope for with DT members' releases. It surprises me because I had read a long time back that JLB's solo effort would definitely be more of a pop album. This record has catchy elements and is definitely accessible, but it actually does have an edge to it. I'm a metal fan for the most part, and I definitely enjoyed the album and consider it appropriate to play on my metal radio show. I think most of you will enjoy it...I definitely put it up there with LTE and Explorers Club. Great stuff.
Bobby
