    Korg Ecksthrey casually mentioned:

    > It stems from a major childhood abuse in which the Medulla oblongata is
    > "pinched." This practice was common among many parents, particularly in the
    > notherly section of the United States. The action is caused when parents
    > discipline a child by grasping the child firmly and harshly by the back of
    > the neck and applying pressure. The pressure causes a response from the
    > Medulla (located at the base of the brain, near the back of the neck) which
    > signals the pituitary gland to create mass quantities of testosterone and
    > adrenalin. Not only does this burst cause the child to become enraged with
    > fury at the time, it has more devastating long-term effects: increased

In the Marine Corps, we always try to mess with the new Private or PFC
that comes to the unit. In addition to the tried and true "atomic
sit-ups", "axe qualification", and assorted other pseudo-hazing
activities, we tell the young Marine about the Medulla Oblongata.
Aparently, this region of the brain can trigger intense sensations of
pleasure when "pinched". So if an enterprising young Marine REALLY
wanted to impress a lady, he'd mount her from behind, and right at the
moment of her climax, would punch her as hard as he could in the back of
the head, pressing the skull into the medulla, and causing an orgasm so
intense that she passes out in ecstasy.
"Well how do I know where to hit, corporal?"
"I'm not sure myself, private. Just whack her six or seven times, and
chances are, you'll get it right at least once..."

Amazingly enough, no one to my knowledge has been stupid enough to try
it. Even more amazing when you take into account how many times a young
Private has sat up into a jiggly cellulite-ridden ass, chopped his hat
into pieces while blindfolded, and asked the motorpool shop chief for
some "Fallopian tubes" to fix a HMMWV (Hummer).

Just thought I'd raise the NDT content of this mailing list by a few
    notches.

Whiney, pansy-assed opinions are eagerly awaited.

I heard some Tony Mac on ytseradio the other night and, yes, I will be
picking up discage. Any sites other than the official one (being
"updated") that you can recommend for Greg Howe samples. I keep hearing
about this guy on here and in #ytseradio. It's time :)

No, but you're a sellout for posting two phi slamma jamma posts in one
digest, and THEN, to have the audacity with the second one, to steal
away the precious nectar of the EOJ without leaving even a tip! And
tossing in the brief JP reference just to give the appearance of DTC?

I wouldn't mind, actually, if he played a non-Ibanezian instrument now
and then. This endorsing one company shit exclusively has shades of Nike
written all over it. Fucking sellouts :) Anyone remember seeing Yes live
like during the In The Round tour? How many axen did Howe have up on
stage? 10? 20? Wouldn't people be even the slighest bit interested in
hearing what JP could do to a poor old pre-CBS Strat? or a Telecaster?
Or a hollow-bodied Gibson electric? or a beat up old, synhtesized banjo
or mandolin when Jordan's honky tonking :) ahhhh, to dream...

Local (Boston) area folk: Jon Finn is "opening" for Jeff Beck next
Monday at Tweeter Centah (the venue formerly known as Great Woods).
Opening is because I wanted to note that he'll be on that side stage
designed for people to be able to hear music as they're entering The
Woods. He won't be on the actual main stage. Still this is a great
chance for Jon to get some exposure in front of thousands instead of the
usual hundred or so at the clubs he plays. The place can draw 4000 no
problem. Even if he only gets 1% to stop and check it out closer, he's
gotta be loving opening for one of his major influences at a sweet
outdoor gig in the summertime. I imagine there'll be more than 1%
    stopping :)

So get out there next Monday night, show your support for one of the
best guitarists in these parts, hear some cool music, suck down a couple
of frosties, check out the skirt, have some fun outdoors!! If anyone
else is planning on going and wants to hook up pre-show, e-mail me or
    something.

The regular seats are steep, but one can get on the lawn seats for 19.50
    anyways... http://www.tweetercenter.com/gwsched.html doesn't list Jon,
but he has confirmed this personally to me in between sets this past
Saturday night at a gig (the evening of "Chemistry" to use the word he
mentioned and for which I can find no better substitute!)

Speaking of which, I'll be posting a review of Bruce Bartlett's new disc
in the futre, after I purchase it and spin it a few times. Trust me,
jazz fusion fans, I saw this cat just abuse the axe as much as Jon did,
on Saturday night. This was some hot fucking shit!!! No web site that I
know of on Bruce, that might contain samples or anything. As soon as I
find out more on ordering, etc., I'll update... In the meantime, head
over to Jon Finn's site.... NOW!!!! :))))

    hence the 'chuckle, chuckle'.
Even without me following this list for more than 1 1/2 years (and reading
the FAQ as I was supposed to) I knew that PMU's ending was supposed to be
    that way, dah.
I also wasn't asking for that Extreme title, I was merely trying to convince
that person who was considering to buy Extreme-Extreme to buy it. Thanks
anyway. I have mad dogs essay now, however, and whoever els wants it, I'll
    forward it.
What a beautiful day, and Stevie V's new one will be released on September
    7th.
    Later all,

    resistance is futile,

Mad dogs essay meaning the one about JP (or was it MP) taking over DT? If
    so, then GIMMEGIMMEGIMME! =)

    Hey,

Vanessa Mai....hmmm what about Lili Haydn, saw her a while back
supporting Page and Plant - she was very cool, powerful music with both
classical and eastern influences. It was a shame that she tripped over one
of the monitors, it looked quite painful.

    Charlke remarked:
    >Dennis Chambers when he first came into the drumming world. For one, he
played on Pearl Exports. What kind of a fool does >that? <snip>

Er...let me think who uses Pearl....Oh yes I remember - Ian Paice - yeah
    he's shit isn't he....

Dave (a UK jammer) - thinks fondly of his Pearl Export and hopes his
sister in law is still looking after it....

I surely recomend hearing more of him, he's completely nuts.

Well, I presonally think she is too cheesy. The Violin Player album has some few good songs but all togethers is not worth album, at leats not for souls like us! :)

It's certainly cool to see slightly different approach of violin, but than again it's nothing new, Jerry Goodman, Jean-Luc Ponty, Nigel Kennedy, that Dixie Dreggs guy, ...

Prog, hmmmmm!?! I do like her cover of Hocus Pocus (of the band Focus), but overall I think she's chessy

Seel out? Maybe! :) I also don't like that she doesn't write almost any of the stuff she plays. But she surely can play the violin. -- CyberDuke ________________________________________________
