P.S. The outside doesn't necessarily have to be spherical, but it certainly would look interesting. Imagine Portnoy pounding away through the 800 Lb. snowmen of sound... Sitting in the corners of your living room :)

You mean your living room has corners? Mine is spherical! :)

Well, IMHO this is the best song Gardner ever made. Maybe it's James, don't know, but I *really* dig it.
And I really like the artwork, mistake or not. What was the mistake anyway? I mean, biting off another guy's ear, so what? That's not more weird and obscure than a giant ear growing on a hill, is it? So I took it for granted ;-)... What was it *supposed* to look like?

Greetings ye 'jamanoids...
Lisa vs. Andreas, round II. FIGHT! >> Actually NO, that wasn't the only mistake in your instructions. Lisa, you need to turn your volume down a few >notches, then tell me what else was wrong with my instructions.
Easy. You POSTED the instructions to the list, which is wrong for two reasons:
1) The rest of us on the Ytsejam don't need to see them; 2) The guy's as much as shown that he's irritated and tired of reading ytsejams. Do you really think he's going to be reading the next ones carefully, looking for a response?
>My response >to the "take me off this list" guy was in no way offensive, and I think >everyone but >you realized that.
No. Your response WAS smart-ass. I quote:
>>Simple huh? What also would have been simple, was for you find this >>out for yourself ;-)
Smiley or no smiley, somebody who's irritated and tired of receiving ytsejams is not going take kindly to being told he couldn't figure out something simple himself. What's more, maybe he COULD have found it out for himself, but you made no mention of WHERE he could have found the instructions.
>Try counseling Lisa, you have way to much aggression going on ;-)
And you have way too much of a holier-than-thou attitude going on. Give it a rest.
cheers, Phil

Why not, experiment! This is the spirit that got us onto the moon. Acoustics won't tell you much: evidently the universe is nonlinear. And mind is one of the most nonlinear wonders of the universe. And auditory perception is one of the most nonlinear parts of mind. So with audio and music problems, you'd best get empirical on their ass.. er I mean ears. Good luck! :)

The ear was supposed to be detached (like, floating in between the two guys)... The guy on the right didn't bite off the ear, but is actually trying to communicate with the guy on the left (unsuccesfully, of course). I personally do think this mistake matters, because it causes a misrepresentation of the album...

Unfortunately, your post falls in the same category as the one you are reffering to. And so does this one, but I'm never the first one to take a flame war to personal e-mail. When you critizise me publicly I'm obligated to reply publicaly to avoid other jammers missinterpretation of who's right :-)
> 2) The guy's as much as shown that he's irritated and tired of reading > ytsejams. Do you really think he's going to be reading the next ones > carefully, looking for a response?
I couldn't care less if he reads it or not! I only tried to provide a solution to the problem, which could also be useful for future unsubscribers. Though I'm not sure what Lisa's problem is. I admitted I forgot the "un" and she goes nuclear on me. If you and Lisa can't handle a little irony and humor I suggest you get of the jam. I also had a problem with irony before, but I learned to accept it for what it is.

I never said it wasn't smart-ass! I said it wasn't offensive, there is a considerable difference.

I think the advise about getting off if you can't handle it, applies to that guy too.

A Dream Theater fan with an Internet connection who doesn't know about UACM is <OBS>IMHO</OBS> a very, very stupid person. I can't take the responsablity of teaching people how to use a search engine. I don't like unintelligent people. No offense to anyone, but that's how I feel.

Not holier, just more intelligent :-)

I posted earlier about "Paint it Black" (thanks to everyone who responded!) Now i have another question. Which is the best version of the song (ie which one sounds like the Doors!) I checked out CDconnection for the song and got about 50 different cd's with the song on it (only 4 or 5 were Rolling Stones'). Now, i would assume that the Aftermath version would be the best, but that's not always the case. If God did the version that was on the trailer of Stir of Echoes, then that would be the one i want, cause it sounds just like the Doors IMHO. Now, sometimes when they make trailers they tend to use the original song for it, so as not to reveal the cover song till you see the movie. If anyone has seen this and knows which version this is email me. There were also about 15 other bands who covered "Paint It Black" including W.A.S.P. and Deep Purple. I'm not really a big Rolling Stones fan, so i don't want to buy 3 or 4 cd's just to get that one version (but i don't know if the 'best of' albums use the same version or if they change it a little (like the Doors did on "Greatest Hits" with the "Apocalypse Now" version)). If any of you guys really wanted to help me out a little you could send me a 45 sec clip of whatever version you have (please start from the beginning and not the middle of the song) so i could figure it out myself. Either way, thanks for the past help and the future help.

Just came back from the first night of the Jazz festival.
The Toni Kitanovski Trio was more classic jazz oriented! Very similar to John Scofield. The drummer was crazy! He studied drums at Berkeley and finished 2 years in 1! Toni is also Berkeley graduate!
R.M. Tochak Trio was very good. He was the guitarist of the legendary band SMAK in ex-YU, they played crazy jazz rock/hard rock/blues type of music! This guy is so unique, you have to see it! He has this funny finger picking technique, without a pick!!! It's just amazing to see him does those rock solos without a pick. And the music was story for itself! Rock at its finest, but way way more progressive and interesting. Hard Rock mixed with jazz, in a more inteligent form
Vlatko Stefanovski Trio blasted in few jazz/ethno rock songs from their new album. The sound was very good and loud, and it rocked the house. These songs has so much raw power played live! Jaco, you should've been there. :) Me and Ljupcho joked that if you were there watching the tornado called Vlatko you would freak out!!! :)
He shredded like crazy, he even became boring with it! :) He really ate the guitar tonight. The bass solo was spectatular too. Once upon a time there was Stanley Clarke and this is a whole new world! ;) I guess it was planned that they be the highlight of the event, even though I think Tochak deserved it better! We all know Vlatko here so it's not a big deal, but Tochak is a living legend. But anyway, he did his job great. And oh boy, Tochak said SMAK will come in Macedonia for a concert! It will be one SICK gig I tell ya! This band really has unique style, very interesting arrangements.
Tommorow a Bulgarian Teodosi Spasov is performing, which is said to be awesome kaval player. Also the Macedonian bands DD Synthesis (featuring their new album) and Anastasia! I'll be glad if some of you remember Anastasia and the movie BEFORE THE RAIN, nominated for Oscar as best foreign movie few years ago! Anastasi wrote the music for it! Dutch jammers might know them for their gigs in Denmark too!
All nights are very good but I can't go them all! :( I hieo I'll catch one night more though
Sorry for posting this here, but there ARE few folks whoi are familiar with this music so ...
Actually I wanted to ask Adam or someone if it's possible to upload some stuff and let jammers hear it! Vlatko has some really great stuf, and his old band Leb i Sol too. I would really like to share this with jammers if possible. -- CyberDuke ________________________________________________

Don't forget U2, who covered it on the single for One. I liked their version better than the Stones, even though they don't have a sitar. But, then again, I like their versions of Unchained Melody and Everlastin= g Love much better than the originals as well...
