    Can the remarks about Jordan's hair stop? If Jordan has started to read the
    jam, then I'm sure everytime he gets excited by a nice remark about his skills
    - he gets slammed back down by a hair remark. What the FUCK? Don't you guys
    know when to draw the line? What purpose does it serve?

    Atleast when people talk about how they hate/like songs or mention that they
    wish "______" would be released it can be constructive. Atleast the band can
    use that as feedback (even if some border on being downright rude.

    I will say that Jordan looked much better in concert than he did on his
    website pics, but I think its mainly because you see Jordan's emotions when he
    plays. Jordan also looked younger in person. His hair looked good in person.

    It really is just a fucked up subject.

    DREAM THEATER [IMAGE AND WORDS] LP!!! You might be a big fan of DREAM
    THEATER, and you would know that their 2nd. album is the best. But, do you
    know [IAW] has released as LP only in South Korea? In fact, Korea was just
    stopping their LP produce at that time, and [IAW] was just the final LP
    issue in Korea. Now this album is very rare, even in Korea. So this album is
    not so cheap. Highest bidder win the prize, and 8$ add for shipping, buyer
    pays. hope you could enjoy this music.
    -----------------------------

    Bullsh*t , the Vinyl version of IaW was also released here in Brazil

    the actual bid is 50 bucks, thank god I gave my copy to my girfriend :P

    And consider this...

    The Beard has their new album coming out this Spring...and Enchant should have another out (again, probably Fall) this year as well...

    Hey,

            There was a little talk about who was going to produce DT99 (as
    it's being called). MP suggested that DT themselves would have control,
    I just noticed (on UACM Bio Page) that JR produced an album called
    Romscape. Does this suggest that JR has had previous experience in this
    area...? On another note - I've been avidly listening to the live LTE
    MP3's from the LITS web site (a very kicking site!). My thoughts on the
    new ones - I think the next LTE will kick my arse much more than the
    first, Biaxident is just absolutely fantastic, JR is gonna be so good on
    DT99, I know it. Just one last thing - there's an "Improv-Jam" on there
    (which sounds quite well rehersed to me) and JP is doing some crazy
    stuff at the beginning and I just feel it's too good a riff to be lost,
    I hope it gets recycled.

    Hi all

    I bought 2 new albums yesterday, both of which will be of interest to
    some or all of you:

    ACRON - Labyrinth Of Fears
    MY INSANITY - Still Dreams In Violent Areas

    ACRON is an Italian prog/metal band. My first impression after 4 -5
    listenings is somewhere between "Images And Words" Dream Theater,
    Black Jester and Vauxdvihl. This is one of the best new prog bands and
    albums that I've heard in a long time. Some of the stuff has a very strong
    "Metropolis" feel about it.

    MY INSANITY are a sort of melodic and gothic (but not black)
    version of Samael and Alastis. Has the usual good feel of Woodhouse
    Studios and Waldemar Sorychta about it.

    Detailed reviews to follow, but I can recommend ACRON here and
    now without reservation.

    stay sage and happy listening

       Something's occurred to me. There's a lot of people saying how this
    next record will be what DT's really all about, and how great it is
    that they've got JR, and that they're self-producing...
       Of course, that means that if people are unsatisfied with what
    they get, as some were with FII whether they admit it or not,
    there'll be no producer, or "temp keyboardist", to blame...
       Just a thought or two. Also:

    >>think we all need to remember that we're FANS, not EMPLOYERS.
    >On the other hand, where would they be without us? I would
    >actually go as far as to say that we are employers. That doesn't
    >mean we have the
       I think a better term would be "Shareholders" rather than
    "Employers". We can't tell DT what to do, but we can sure as hell
    make a lot of noise if we don't like what they do. Assuming, of
    course, that we all stop flaming each others opinions for long enough
    for everyone to agree!!

    Finally:
    >I'm not taking sides in "what keyboard player sux and who
    >don't" but I must confess that I experienced Derek on the Awake
    >Tour and I was impressed with the Jazzy, Bluesy playing he added
    Really? You *experienced* Derek on the Awake tour? [Si creakily
    arches one eyebrow in the Roger Moore stylee] You lucky boy...I know
    DT do a lot for their fans, but I never realised...
       Seriously though, on 6:00 on my 5YIaL, the keys are inaudible?
    What went wrong? But then again, JM's inaudible on a lot of the live
    album/vid as well...

    Someone proposed a few jams ago what might happen if DT ever came on the radio. Now I may be a dolt, but I remember back around the year that I&W was released PMU and UaGM were both on regular rotation on WZRQ zrock, which is (was) a nationally syndicated radio station. It actually was DT's radio play that got me into them. DT has been on the radio, not much, but they have. Now, I don't think a band should ever produce "suitable, radio-sounding music" (FZ) just so they get exposure, but wouldn't it be awesome to hear some of the next album on the airwaves?

    Actually, I think that actual note was produced when Mariah's producer reached inside and tied her Uterus into a sailor's knot!

    He toured in support of the Full Cirlce tour. Lavtiz was on keys on the disc of the same name, which was released. I'd be very interested as well of anything out there. The Holy Grail would be any recorded material of the spontaneous jam that he and Rod did when the power cut out on all but the keys, during one of those shows.

    Janne wrote: > To me it looks like they already had decided back then that he would be the > perfect keyboard player for DT but since Jordan had to turn the offer down > for personal matters, DT had to settle for someone else.

    If anyone's interested in Jordan's words, I found the following:

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Excerpt from http://www.mediusvision.com/jordan/story.html~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When it rains it pours!!... In the course of one week I got a call from "Dream Theater" and the "Dixie Dregs". I had about one week to transcribe the music and program all the sounds for an upcoming Dregs tour. On top of that I did the same with Dream Theater's music because I had an audition with them two days before going out to Steve Morse's house for rehearsal. I had a great whirlwind experience with Dream Theater, and actually performed at the Concrete Music Convention with them. When the storm blew over I decided to join the Dregs, and stay on for all the upcoming tours. That was not an easy decision! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Excerpt from http://www.mediusvision.com/jordan/story.html~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    As tough a decision as it was at the time, it turned out to be a win-win situation in this fans' opinion. Look at all the good music that came out of it as a result of that decision!! The gig with Steve Morse which brought about the stuff he did with Rod, DT with Derek (don't go there, fool!), LTE, LTE live. And now he's kinda come full circle (pun intended :). For me this whole thing concept of musicians doing these side projects is a dream come true!
    Maybe LTE was done in a week 'cuz it's _Jordan_ that's the maniac slave driver :))))
    Jordan with Mike in a headlock: "God Damnit, I fookin' told you I wanted 12th note paradiddleeedoos at 300 beats per minute, with the JUST the third leg!!!"
    Myung loses it, grabs Jordan by the throat: "RELAX, newbie....don't make me have to speak again!"
    Petrucci turns the monitor towards the children, cranks the volume up to 12 and rips out an unexplained riff. The sound waves launch the three across the room.
    James, using the caribou for a shield, is unaffected and launches a counter-offensive letting out a high pitched shreak. The two sound waves meet in the middle of the studio and begin battling it out, Jedi style... sound-proof glass shatters, anti-particles groove to the beat, mixing engineers bleed, record companies abandon. James and JP begin sweating profusely as they both approach the breaking point. Does this stop them? heh!! OFB, deities though they might be, continue on as they are under ORDERS from the fans...
    An hour later, spent, they all get back up and add another 34 minutes to Metro 2A: Return of the Prog
    >some low life is selling the LTE show of 21-01-99. This is pretty >uncool and amounts to near exploitation IMO.
    Without gullible ass to receive boot, can there be pain? :) Without purchase, can you be exploited? "I will choose a path that's clear....yadda yadda yadda
    Oh yeah, I'll be selling bootleg MPEG videos of the Year 2000 party. PAL FORMAT ONLY!!! I'm taking advance orders now to fund my little scam :) Why go out and party like it's 1999? The quality of these MPEGs will be better than actually being there. Please specify lat/lon coords of location you'd like a filmed. I have the master satellites under control and can instantly zoom in with crystal clarity to any location on the earth....MUAHAHAHAHAHA
