Me too...
Mariah who? :)))
Back in the mid-late 70's, Minnie Ripperton hit an excruciatingly
painful note in a song called, IIRC, "Loving You." I'm sure there must
be a few people on here who remember this song and the absolute primal
agressions it would stir up?
Imagine the alarm clock going off in the morning and this song comes on.
Now imagine the alarm clock in fully non-functional pieces :)
That song actually pissed me off!
I know nothing about comparing octave ranges but I'd hazard a guess that
Minnie had to be a good octave higher than the highest note I've ever
heard Mariah hit. There are some sounds that simply should be left in
the realm of silence; and on that note.... :)
Regards,
Jon

Hi there, working on understanding the lyrics of I&W I came to Met I and thought: Death is the first dance eternal Deceit is the second without end(thus:eternal) The 3rd arrives[...]M and S know that the third is love Love is the Dance of eternity
The question? Well I haven't read the story yet, but how come love is the final dance 'eternal', in "the only one". In my eyes 'death' is the eternal dance that is best described as eternal. "Love is the Dance of eternity" sounds very final to me.
On misheard lyrics(hello new faq maintainer) I first heard "you'll find yourself swimming in a liquor store", but it is "you'll find yourself swimming in a liquor fire". (from Met I'swinning in a lake of fire')
Everytime I go into a bookstore I look for books on DT, knowing well that I won't find one cause any author would research on the jam. On a serious note, who would like to think about a project like that(native speaker)? Please email me private. I think it's more than time that DT gets written about.
I read that somebody has the new NUno album. Can you send me a review? After listening to Strato's Destiny I'm a little bit dissapointed and after FW's Still life I feel better. Anybody listened to Bret Micheals knew one? Murder in death row? I saw it out.

Hogwash! It should stand for The Lies Channel. They did a show on Bruce Lee - I think it was Biography - in which they sugarcoated, half-truthed, and basically lied about the cause of his death. It was highly inaccurate, there was no mention of his dangerous hashish habit, or the fact that he was having unusual symptons with the drug, and that both of his comas were preceding by lighting up. No, they glazed right over that; in fact on the show they specifically claim that "the comas were totally mysterious and no one has any idea whatsover why this great man is dead" and great he may be, but that is a lie, lie, lie!
Since then I've begun to doubt anything I see on LTC.
If they did a show on DT, they'd probably use the testicular cancer rumors.

I totally concur with Al... it's really rare that you hear a stunningly real piano on a prog cd. I assume it's been done a lot, but that effects tend to try and make piano sound like something it's not. I think the biggest problem I have with Jordan is his sounds... his playing is to die for. He has chops and he can improvise like nobody's business. The thing is, I understand he's been a Kurzweil clinician since birth, and sometimes their sounds tend to get overdone, IMO. I really like the beef in the newer Korg sounds... and I don't for a second expect that Jordan will use anything buy Kurzweil gear. Maybe he'll design patches to get a more ballsy sound... he got some interesting tones on RMP, but it was still nowhere close to that Trinity sound. Maddy pointed out something I found rather interesting. Calvin posted a defense of Jordan when some complete trash-can worthy fool knocked his hairline. I absolutely agree with Cal there... and I think that pretty much everyone else here does too. What seems odd, though, is that people seem to think it's wrong to knock Jordan's looks, and but it's okay to knock Derek's image. Interesting case study... but I guess it's better that it goes no further. :) No need to re open that can of wormage.

News flash: that was not a real organ, but a Roland vk7 vitrtual tonewheel keyboard. Before that it was a Korg unit that Derek cashed in. Derek did use real leslie cabinets, though, and that organ sound is about authentic as it gets, but it is not a real keyboard.
