Pat asked who he was. He sang with Yngwie on the "Eclipse" and "Fire and Ice"
cds. I think he has been involved in other things, too, but the
aforementioned material is the extent of my limited knowledge. Oh yeah, he is
a pretty good singer. I am hoping to find a U.S. vendor for "The Last
Viking," but I am not holding my breath (or anything else) waiting.

Wow all the closet Ozric fans are coming out.

On the album front you missed :

Live Underslunky, great live recording with material from Strangitude,
Pungent Effulgent and Erpland, this was my introduction, if you prefer
live stuff this is a hit, plus its 72 and change minutes long.

If you can find it Spice Doubt is the latest (limited release) it was
a recording of some studio session, damm good though.

They have also recently changed labels to Snapper Music so their stuff
may become more available, I hope so.

Some friends and myself went to see them about a year ago in Cambridge
and was very disappointed to find the place only about 1/3 full, Great
gig though, great night, about time I went again I think.

I think that the Ozrics are the only UK band that we Brits have easy
access to that could possibly come close to getting our own back for
only seeing DT about as often as total eclipse, for me any road.

If anyone wants a textbook lesson on getting the crowd into a show, just
listen to Running Free on Iron Maiden's "Live After Death" CD.

Side note: I was at all four of those shows!!! THE 80'S RULED!!!

I was browsing through some 'jams that I'll never be able to properly

Yup. :) Dalbello is someone I've had a bit of exposure to. In fact, I
thought I posted on her before. She's a Canadian artist who has had a
lengthy career on her own. (Gotta love dem hosers, eh? So pass me a
    beer and some crullers!)

But you folks will know her from the song Gonna Get Close to You made
(more) famous by Queensryche. She also guest appeared on Alex Lifeson's
album Victor. The story I heard said that she was recording tracks for
her own album, and Alex asked her to sing right there on the spot.

Anyhow, some Web sites of interest are:

It was actually a show they did in San Franciso that was totally on the internet. I believe only 7500 were made of it.

Wrong. The San Francisco show was the day before (Friday June 5, 1998) and it was not released. The next day they did an in-studio performance which was recorded and put on the album we know as Spice Doubt. So Spice Doubt is "live in the studio" essentially. But yes, only 7500 copies were made.

The SF show kicked complete ass, by the way. :)

    Tracks: 1. Not With Me (3:37), 2. God's Funeral (8:10), 3. Nothing (9:32), 4. Think (4:05), 5. Stop (6:12), 6. Be Mine (5:09), 7. Amok (4:29), 8. Free Minded (6:03), 9. Detect: Myself (7:24) (with guest vocals by Andre Matos from Angra), 10. This Promise (5:04)

Superior are: Michael Tangermann on Vocals Bernd Basmer on Guitars Michael M=FCller on Guitars and Keyboards Martin Reichhart on Bass Jan-Marco Becker on Keyboards Thomas Mayer on Drums and Percussion

Superior is one of Germans best Prog Metal bands.

"Younique" are a CD that takes a lot of listening before you get into it. The tracks are very complex and you have to sit down and listen to it to give it your full attention. The music ranges from Progressive Power Metal to quiet instrumental piano pieces. Notable influences are Dream Theater, Faith No More, Metallica, Queensryche, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rush and Sting among others. The musicians are very tight and good as the original singer that sometimes sings in a German accent, but that isn't disturbing. You can't really compare the singer to any other singer, and that is only positive.

The best tracks are "God's Funeral" (with Queensryche influences), "Amok", "Free Minded", "Detect: Myself" (an experimental track containing saxophone, trombone and trumpet, and with Andre Matos from Angra on guest vocals) and the acoustic ballad "This Promise".

The sound quality is really good and crystal clear. Everything on this album isn't perfect, but nevertheless it's a "Younique" CD that I like really much, and I think that many will like as well. Recommended!

Info: http://www.fine.de/superior/ here you can find sampled tracks, read newsletters or contact the band.

------------ Forwarded Message begins here ------------

Subject: IF this works, I'm gonna laugh my ass off!!! You will too!

Hello all. This is a chain letter that I am starting (hear me out). There is nothing I loathe more than chain letters. Well, except for the teenage obsession and recent success of such male quintuplet vocal acts as: The Backstreet Boys, N Sync, and 98 Degrees, and Five.

I am the boy with cancer. I am Bill Gates with the enticing offer of an all-expense paid trip to Disneyland. I am the naive college freshman whose kidneys are no doubt being sold for thousands of dollars on the black market. Now, to expose the plot, a nefarious scheme I've contrived to pay them all back. The idea struck me-like a truck running into a flightless bird who had inadvertently chosen to cross the road -- while I was watching TRL yesterday.

TRL, for those of you who don't know, is the abbreviation for the showcase of Carson Daly witticisms that is Total Request Live on MTV (MTV itself being an abbreviation for Music Television).

Here is what we must all pull together and do: send this email to as many people as possible. The message is simple. On March 10, 1999, everyone who has received this email will get on-line and, before the airing of Total Request Live, cast their vote for the New Kids on the Block's epic music video-"Hanging Tough."

It is the ultimate insult to popular culture.

And here is the compelling, dramatic, conclusion: I don't know if this is original. I don't know if anyone has ever had this thought before. You won't be cursed with bad luck and misfortune if you choose not to pass this on. You, in turn, will not reep lifelong rewards and benefits if you do. But you will laugh your ass off if it works. And in that hysterical fit of laughter you will live the long fruitful life and die the ill-fated tragic death all at the same time. We can make this happen.

Now the author would like to apologize for any misspellings, offensive or politically incorrect ethnic slurs, verbosity, inappropriate word use, and failure to convey a lucid, well-organized thought.

    Sincerely, James Vaughan

P.S. Be sure to include ridiculous things in your request, such as: "Please Carson, will you play "Hangin' Tough" by the New Kids on the Block. Danny is such a clean-cut boy, and he'll never be in trouble with the law. Also, I think that these guys have the Right Stuff, and they're going to be around for a long time."
