Hello everyone, it's BABS. Time for a post. I've kept quiet on the new
keyboardist deal because personally - it's not my cross to bear. Anyways,
reading the following post hit on an insecurity/concern of mine as well.

    >I'm fretting over what the new album will be like. Sure sure, I
    >fucking LOVE LTE! yeah! But with almost the same members, and making the
album the same way, in the same time period, I'm afraid it will lack the
depth and personality of Dream Theater.

That is my concern EXACTLY! You see, I love LTE - even have it on my voice
mail greeting, but I see it as a separate entity from Dream Theater. I'm
very concerned about the "blending/meshing" of these two sounds. As I
expressed to a close friend of mine, "I don't want to hear Another Day
(which to me is just a flawless song due to it's simplicity - sometimes
"less IS more") drowning in keys."

So if the band is reading this, I sure hope that you are cool enough to
take thoughts like this into consideration.

Ok, now back to work I go. Take care everyone, I'll be in touch with a lot
of you guys as soon as work calms down!

    Yeah, definitely he would be.

In any case, since Merlo has expressed interest in getting it back, I
vote for him as he -IMNAAHO- has the best right to be the FAQ-keeper
    (I'm a FAQ writer/keeper myself, so I know what I'm talking about).

If Merlo wants the FAQ back, I vote for him. If he can't do it for
whatever reason, then Mike has my vote.

I enjoy these - gives you a sample of the diversity that you can experience on this mailing list, even though we're not technically allowed to do top-10 bands (see how I circumvent that? Crafty, I am). These are in no particular order: they all get pretty much equal airplay in my 1988 Ford F-Shit Series Truck.

    1. Duran Duran 2. Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble 3. New Order 4. The Cure 5. Anthrax 6. Jeffrey Gaines 7. Glass Tiger 8. a-ha 9. Metallica (up to and including TBA, but nothing after) 10. Rush 11. Sting

This list doesn't include things like soundtracks (i.e. Some Kind of Wonderful, Pretty in Pink, The Star Wars Trilogy) or compilations (such as Metal Blade's 10 year double-CD or any of the ten or so 80's compilations I have).

Speaking of which, can I just complain for a second? The day the new Star Wars movie comes out is the same day that my girlfriend graduates from college. I'm gonna miss all the tailgate parties. This sucks. Oh well. She'll understand. :)

DTC: Petrucci plays some Star Wars (Vader's Theme, I believe it's called) at the beginning of Voices on OIAL.

I whole-heartedly agree with Kez and Metzger on this one. If you don't have YOUNIQUE, GET IT, DAMMIT!

What the hell kind of YtseJammer are you if you don't buy this CD, for Chrissake!!!!! Not only is it a fellow Ytsejammer (and one of the cooler ones at that), but this album is definitely one of the premiere albums of last year.

Like was said before, it may take some of you a bit to digest what's actually going on on the CD, but once it hits you, it HITS you........

stop your whining and just get the damn CD already.

    ]From=20Tony Levin's diary....

Still in L.A, another public show of Liquid Tension will be at the Roxy, on Feb. 1st. We're trying to tape it for a possible live cd, since it's unlikely there will be more shows of this group.

A live LTE disk!!!!! How awesome would that be, especially for those=20 who weren't able to see any of the shows......actually even better would be a video of the show.......or maybe some kind of box set combo of a=20 video and CD..........or maybe a DVD/VHS/CD combo.....or maybe have LTE come to EACH Ytsejammers house and do a personal performance.....or maybe..........oh, nevermind.......

Actually, that biography was supposed to be there temporarily... Within minutes after I uploaded that page I sent Jordan an email asking him the "favorite drink" stuff etc... But something tells me he's got more important things on his mind right now ;-)
