Sad? Why on Earth would it be sad that he's gay? When Neil Peart lost his
wife and daughter, that was damn sad. When someone builds up the courage,
(especially someone in the spotlight because of our backward-assed society
that thinks gay=bad), and can finally admit to not only him/herself, but to
the rest of the world that they have a different sexual orientation than
most people, that is not sad. It is admirable. People who make comments
like yours, however, are the sad ones. :)

Please, don't take this as a flame, when I say this, I'm not saying it out
of rage, just hoping that you mis-worded that, or that it was misinterpreted
by most people, like me. And no, I'm not gay; I'm just secure enough in my
sexuality that I have no reason to fear homosexuality.

    <<really long post>>

Hell yeah that rocked!! I mean, it wasnt the best show Ive ever been to (LTE still tops the list), but man, does Maiden put on a kick ass show! Very convenient that I just happened to get into Maiden as Bruce and Adrain returned. I was on the first balcony, great view of the whole stage (AC blowing in your face? I wanna know where you were!)

One other REALLY cool thing...I actually saw someone wearing an Angra shirt! I went up to him outside and mentioned how much Angra rocks, and he said that he's actually interviewed them before, twice (wonder how he got that assignment?).

Anyway, if you get a chance to go see Maiden, DO IT!!!

(now I gotta get the Ed Hunter game ;-)

    Hi

On the 3rd part of the Beartracks Studio video by Mike Portnoy (www.mikeportnoy),
for only 10ms, you can see the tracklisting for the new album.

Has anybody some tools to zoom the picture with good quality so it would be
possible to read the tracklist ?

Okay... I am a drummer. The way I see it, a foolish remark is to say that
Portnoy is a rip-off. Sure, over time people may "re-use" drum parts or
grooves, but they fit specific situations. A 7/4 drum groove on the high
hat is something that is used "all the time". In fact, I practice it on my
drums, and you know what? I don't I even know where it came from. I just
DO IT. If a drum part fits a specific riff or song, who cares who did it
first? I use a lot of fills that Mike does in Dream Theater, in fact he has
inspired me a lot when it comes to fills. I don't walk around saying "I
stole that from Mike Portnoy." I just do it because it is cool. The
correct thing to say is "Gee, I see that MP used a Peart-ish 7/4 drum groove
on WTWB." To say that it was a rip-off is both insulting to MP and to any
other drummer. Most drummers are inspired by other drummers that they like.
I am inspired by MP. I use his inspiration when I play. Whats next? "You
bastard, you stole that 4/4 beat from Nirvana!" Uh yeah. I did. Shoot me.

    So here it is:

something we really like, that we'll use, that person will be mentioned in
the booklet and get a free copy of the eventual cd.
    EMAIL ME PRIVATE ONLY.
    My email adress is: dl@xs4all.nl

I'm looking forward to hearing from you guys.

In case you didn't know, and are in the area, The Gathering is playing at
the Maritime Hall here in SF on Wednesday. Tickets are five damn dollars,
which has to be the smallest amount of money I've ever paid for a show. This
show was only officially announced this past weekend (although it's been on
The Gathering's website for awhile), so I can't imagine the crowd is going
to be very large. Might be fun.

I found this to be VERY interesting. Nostradamus' prophecies have often
been a curiosity of mine, but when someone posted this quote from an album
by him, it rose my interest quite a bit.

    Century X: Quatrain 72
    The year 1999, seventh month,
    >From the sky will come a great King of Terror:
To bring back to life the great King of the Mongols,
Before and after Mars to reign by good luck.

Because he used the Julian calendar, the 7th month is the 8th month in the
Gregorian calendar of today. So what could happen in August 1999?

On 18 August 1999 NASA's probe Cassini will pass Earth with tremendous speed
at a close distance of 500 km. On board it carries 72.3 pounds of plutonium.
One milligram of that stuff is enough to kill a human being. Could therefore
Cassini be the 'great king of terror coming out of the sky' Nostradamus
    tells about?

    Century III: Quatrain 34
When the eclipse of the sun, will then be
In broad daylight the monster will be seen:
Everyone will differ on the interpretation
High price unguarded: none will have prepared

Even astrologers of today think something could happen in the summer of
    1999. On 11 August 1999, only a week before Cassini's
rendez-vous, a total solar eclipse will be visible in West-Europe.
Astrologers consider that to be a bad sign.

    Now the link...

    Century II: Quatrain 41
The great star for seven days will burn
The cloud will cause two suns to appear:
The big mastiff all night will howl
    When the pontiff changes countries

Notice the link between the three Quatrains. >Cassini (the King of
    Terror?)< will fly by the Earth >seven days< after >the eclipse.< Everyone
HAS had a different interpretation of what the "King of Terror" may be.
Aliens, a comet, missle attack. Mikey Nostro says it's something no one
will expect. This probe comes waaaay out of left field. The only other
connection I can think of that might pin this harder would be to find out if
Pope John Paul II happens to have any sort of trip planned on that date. So
far, I haven't been able to come up with any (heh) Pope John Tour Dates. :)

Now, NASA stated that (as any US gov't institution) there is no danger of an
impact from Cassini, but Jesus, it's flying by us at 42,000 kph and coming
within 500km of the planet! That leaves scant amount of room for error.
Some people believe that NASA fucked up. I leave you with a couple of links
to peruse if you're interested. I think this is very intriguing myself and
    wanted to share it.
