That is/was on the "other" version of Bloody Kisses (the one with the two
chicks actually kissing as opposed to not-quite). I think it was the
digi-pack release. I bought it new, and unwrapped it, and lo and behold, no
    CD inside.

Actually, the "Type O" version is NOT on that release (I have both). The
only place I could find it is on the "Blood Melting Extremity" bootleg. I'm
sure it's on a couple boots out there, but anyway...

And, no the end is not funny, it's very graphically sexual - classic Type
    O... :)

The new album is entitled "World Coming Down" and will be released September
21st, 1999 (exactly one year after the original, intended release date).
]From what I have heard of the actual album, it is a pretty solid mix of
"Slow, Deep and Hard" and "October Rust", or just OR faster...

and, mike said they're making the album they've always wanted to make. i
think its safe to assume they've always wanted to put the song out,
considering they wrote it and took the time to rewrite it when jordan came
aboard. :) though i've heard people use that statement to suggest lots of
things about the new cd, so we might be reading too much into it - it might
be just the typical "this will be our best album ever" that necessarily
comes from the band while they're recording it. i mean, of course the band
thinks this will be their best album - it's what they've last written and
feel is good enough to record. i would be quite surprised to hear from mike
"yeah, this new cd isn't gonna be that great, you know, not nearly as good
as images and words or anything, but not that bad." :) ok enough of me
    rambling. moo.
    >>>>

I also noticed that there wasn't too much heavy stuff in Inspiration Corner.
If the new album reflects large doses of Floyd listening, I can guarantee
    I'll be happy... :)

They also have clips from 3 songs (which are actually demos) on the webpage) I know it takes time to put a tour together. The bitching done here was NOTHING in comparison to the QR message board. I am in their fan club, when the Eye on Queensryche arrives at my house, I will give all the specifics on everything.

It > doesn't matter how closely you follow religion as it is 'supposed' to > be followed. It only matters what you believe. And how you perceive > your supreme being. Everything else is irrelevant.

    1. The point of religion is not "to keep up with modern times." Why should the date on a calendar change the fundamentals of one's belief system if that system is based on an eternal creator. Keeping up with the times is not, or should not, be a concern if that's the kind of thing you believe in.

    2. You, like most of the other people on this list who ever bash other groups of people, reveal your ignorance of the subject. For example...among Christians, most Protestant groups, such as Lutherans, Baptists, etc, have no problem with contraceptives and haven't for a long, long time. That's mainly a Catholic thing, and is more relaxed now than in the past.

Generalizing and stereotyping like this is usually pointless and ignorant; if you're going to do it, at least try to get your facts straight.

By the way, how many of you would get offended if I said, say...

"Let's subsidize fried chicken for the negroes, cause we know they all eat that every night."

I bet pretty much every damn one of you. So why do so many of you feel the need to make equivalently stupid remarks about "groups" of people who are actually very diverse?

    As Bogie said....grow up. Sheesh.

Ok, guys, I think it's time to cool down a bit.

I've been on the 'Jam for too long not to notice that massive overhead of non-DT-content, but that's too much.

Please people, before you post something here, even if you really feel the urge to reply to something for whatever reason, calm down, ask yourself if it's actually worth the effort, and for God's sake check if it has something to do with our main topic, and that's Dream Theater, just to remind you.

Oh fuck, I just said the bad "G" word.

And the bad "F" word, too. Shoot me.

The new album will be out in about three months, and Mike gave you enough clues in the studio video to discuss about in the meantime, I think...

Someone mentioned the obvious clue that was on Mike's video . . . the "inspiration" albums.

You know . . . it didn't even dawn on me then, but you know . . . I think you are right on. What prog band wouldn't have a dream of doing at least one concept album in their history. And all the albums certainly (or mostly) would fit as concept albums. Just about every major prog band has done a concept album somewhere . . . except for DT (well, did Rush ever do a whole concept album? 2112 shouldn't really count.)

Of course, I'm not going to be disappointed if it isn't, but I sure hope our hunches are correct. Would certainly explain the secrecy about this album (those on the list for some time know that such secrecy is really not normal . . . we've always had MAJOR news floating around about future albums in advance).

Now, I've heard several mentions about DT re-working Met. 2 with Rudess. Did I miss some post? Last I heard was they were PLANNING on re-working the song to start fresh with Jordan. I never have seen any official mention that they actually sat down and did that. Does anyone know for certain that this has been done? If so, I wonder how this would incorporate into a concept album? I'm sure they aren't going to call the album Met. 2. Most concept albums are made to stand on their own. It would seem strange to have a part 2 song on an album that would alienate new listeners, especially if it is a concept album. Donno....

Just my say here. We're all prejudiced. I don't really like being around people who are so unlike me that I cannot even begin to fathom their way of thinking. That's one of my prejudices. The only people I can really respect are the ones that are honest enough to admit that. I can be a racist, a sexist, a bigot, you name it. And sometimes I live by a double standard: I can do it, you can't. But I think it's a little more narrow minded and petty to hate someone because of their skin color, sexual preference, if they're short, fat, poor, basically things they cannot control, than to hate them because they are a fucking moron. I'm not gonna preach on about religion.. I stopped believing in God about the same time I stopped believing in the Tooth Fairy. If you do, that's great and fine by me. It's when you start telling me I'm going to Hell because I don't share your beliefs, or I'm a bad person because I used to do certain things, that I get angry. And let's face it, most major religions say that if someone does not abide by certain moral rules, they are wrong, and perhaps evil. That's what I don't like.

It has not been confirmed that Jordan and Dream Theater rewrote Metropolis 2. If they _did_ record Metropolis 2, Portnoy has said that they would rewrite it. Of course, someone misinterpreted that as, "They are rewriting Metropolis 2, therefore they must have recorded it".

I think where you go wrong is this whole strict interpretation of the Bible thing. I am not religious, mind you, but the Bible has been altered, watered down, and molded to fit whatever views the religious leaders held at that time, for YEARS. Noone really knows what it originally said anymore (unless you can read hebrew), and even then, Jesus himself didn't like people mindlessly following word by word interpretation.

My point? Well, King's X has always been identified with as having Christian tendencies. You imply (though perhaps this was not your intention) that Mr. Pinnick cannot be gay and "truly Christian". I find this to be fairly mindless, even despite your, and I do truly believe this, honest concern for his well being. I am trying to put this as politely as I can, which is difficult, and some people on this list are not going to be as soft, as you have already seen.

I have a handful of Christian friends and I've watched them lighten up from being the worst of the "bible thumpers" lot, to a more open minded spiritual group who are dealing with alot of difficult questions about their own beliefs. BUT at least they are asking those questions! (Not that you haven't, everyone does so once in a while, but I invite you to do so again) They have also learned to take the bible with a grain of salt. Just something to think about.

You guys with the religion/gay/Nostradamus threads and those who even "take the time"<look 8p its DTC> to respond to them are a bunch of immature children with far too much time on your hands.

The only reason Ive finally succumbed to post this is that Im sick of having my mail full of the piss-moan fest.

i check mail and go YEA! look at all the jam...must be something good goin on and here I see nothing but everyone saying "nuh-uh...I said YOU were the bitch Im just a bystander who cant let it go.

I dont care if im flamed with "you dont like it, then leave!" comments either...you people should at least act like you have a shred of common sense.

This generalist statement is not aimed at everyone..<you know who you are>

1 final thing: To the guy who thinks he is a fuckin' genious because of his little piece of paper.....Ill bet you're under 25 huh? When you reach 30+ you will realize that with all your education you still don't know JACK-SHIT!

And in that realization wisdom will grow. As far as MY education...I am a semi-conductor engineer formally of Intel Corp. now with LSI Logic <BIG FAT HAIRY DEAL!>

I still have loads to learn....do not be so indignant. And remember that before you got your little piece of paper that you apparently think classifies you as intelligent, there were generations of folks who already had this knowledge and passed it on to you. <for obscene amounts of money>

Now on to some DTC Am I late in asking this?...I asked before but no one responded.

Guess their ears were full of bitch/cry/moan/fight

On OIaLT <CD>Met.Pt.1 changes at the end, is that a taste of Met.Pt.2?

If not what is it....I know this tune by heart and can even spew out the 64th notes to speed...Im jamming along and WOAH! the brakes are thrown...the latter half of it had changed. I was lost and grinning ear to ear!!!
