If you're going to go that far, you may as well rig
TRL to play a DT video. Some people did that a few
months ago so that TRL would play a New Kids video.
Worked too. Hillarious. If any jammer wants to
    organize this, I'd vote.

Same band, different vocalist. The current vocalist is the wonderful Anneke van Girsbergen. They've turned a little more atmospheric with their latest effort. Do yourself a favor and pick up one of those CDs...

Yes!! By all means, pickup Mandylion!! Its their heaviest one with Anneke, and she has a beautiful , inspiring, powerful voice. The other 2 ( or should i say 3 ) " Nighttime birds, and How to measure a planet 1 and 2 , are too mellow for my taste, but i still enjoy a listen once in a while, but you CANT go wrong with Mandylion, unless of course you dont enjoy good heavy melodic metal with beautiful vocals.

That must be one the earlier Gathering cd's... they're no longer death metal, and as everyone knows they replaced the cookie monster vocalist with the heavenly female vocal stylings of Anneka von somethingorother ;)

The band was once called Dream, and as there was another band with the name, they decided to call themselves Ex-Dream, thus Extreme.

Well said Trent... I hope record labels die a horrid death and digital music distribution takes hold like cement. It costs less than a dollar to manufacture CD's at large volume and record companies want to raise the price of CDs...

Soon the movie industry is gonna be quakin in their shoes when MPEG distribution takes hold like mad when everyone has good bandwidth.

    Hi gang!

I've been listening to prog since before many of you were born... Do I think that makes me an expert, no. but I'll tell you what... Of all the keyboardists that I've heard over the years, Jordan is the first that I think could teach Rick Wakeman a thing or three. He's far more musical and diverse then both of his predecessors. I'm not talking about his "lead" sounds, I'm talking about his note structuring and voicing. Remember, you've NEVER really heard him in full DT mode. I'm convinced that if he wanted to sound dirty and evil, he'd have you crawling out of your skin in no time.

Jordan's work on LTE II is phenomenal! But I wouldn't expect the same SOUND from a DT album, I think he's going to cut loose and REALLY kick your ass. I'm sure Mr. Portnoy and the gang have a few tricks up their sleeves that just may center around Jordan. I have NO doubt that man can play whatever he wants. You seriously better fasten your seat belts, DT99 is going to be like Awake era DT meets Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart... On steroids.

I slowly and carefully eased myself onto it. It felt weird at first. Then I got used to it. I went up and down, and up and down on it. I was really loving it.

Now I ride on escalators all the time.

but it wasnt called ex-dream, it was just x-dream they have a demo album with the name of The Dream, but only Gary and Paul are there.. Nuno joined just a little after, what I dont understand is that the dream wrote "mutha" (nuno wasnt there yet) and on the first album the credits are only for Nuno and Gary...

I dont know if the first version was completely different but it seems that it was a well known song on the local clubs from boston...

does anyone knows if Gary is still working with Van Halen?

has anyone heard Nuno's new band? is called Mourning Widows, Mike Mangini was supposed to record with them but the album was released without him...the album is good, some people say is Nuno's best (even better than 3 sides) but I personally like some other stuff better...it has some killer songs though

Pat Badger joined super trans atlantic (Jason Bieler's new band, he used to be in saigon kick) Super Trans Atlantic has a new single called "Super Down"...this song is available in the soundtrack for "American Pie" has anyone heard it? is pretty good.

Personally, I'm not. CD's were supposed to make cassette tapes obsolete, and even though CD's are now 15+(?) years into the market, I still see cassettes for sale down at my local Strawberries. The fact is, once a given infrastructure is in place, it takes quite a bit of pushing to get people to change. MP3 is still in it's infancy, and really doesn't have the portability yet to make it a real threat.
