    TD Smith: ::snore::

Get the pole outta your self-righteous ass and get a sense of humor. It'll
do you a world of good, and maybe Jens and Jeremy will quit making an ass
out of you (not that you're not doing a fine job on your own).

You're boring. I think that's the ultimate sin in this place.

It is really making me go crazy about all this secrecy about the new album.

You have to wonder if the guys are either:

    1) planning something big and want it to be a complete surprise
    2) fear fan reaction (or petitions if Met. 2 isn't on there)
    3) are upset with how Mike P dishes out info and boots all the time

I guess I wonder . . . take the video Mike took recently at the studios.
Every shot of the band members and it is like, "hi guys, now get out of here
because I'm working on the album and I'm not going to play you anything."
When Mike shows the small glimpse of the track listing of the album, it
almost seems like he forgot he wasn't supposed to reveal anything, and
    quickly turns the camera away.

I doubt Mike will give us any hints as to the why of this secrecy . . .
because that would probably give something away.

I just hope it is the 1st reason and not any of the last two.

Nobody has ANY info on this album whatsoever (besides the release date)?
What ever happened to all the people on this list who had the inside word
all the time? Anyone like that still on the list? Or is that a thing of
the past now? (a true shame if it is)

I posted that a day ago. As fast as they went up, they came down because
of people bitching. I do remember some cities:
    Las Vegas 2 shows
    New York 2 shows
    Dallas
    Houston
    San Antonio
    Salt Lake City
    Seatle or Spokane
    Kansas City
    Detroit or Milwakee (or both)

There were about 24 dates, so that can't be all of it. I am in New
Orleans, and they have came here on every tour since their conception.
Hate to ruin a good thing. I found out that DT was here in 92, damn I wish
I was a fan back then.

New Orleans.....now there is a city which really supported DT back in
    '92...

oh wait!!! THERE WERE ONLY 40 PEOPLE AT THAT SHOW! The
band was so pissed off, they only played for about 40 minutes...so, I
don't think DT will ever be making it back to N'Orleans any time soon. ;)

Bogie, come to think of it, that is not a good thing. I mean, let the album come our way allegro vivace, but, on a sadder note, it means that cold October is only three months away and there won't be that much more of a summer to talk about.

That is/was on the "other" version of Bloody Kisses (the one with the two chicks actually kissing as opposed to not-quite). I think it was the digi-pack release. I bought it new, and unwrapped it, and lo and behold, no CD inside.

How the hell _do_ you calculate that stuff, anyway!? I tried looking up "gravitational field gradients" in my copy of King James but it wasn't in the index.. so much for the book of truths.)

I'd probably defer to Dr. Robert L. Forward or James P. Hogan. :) The way I understood it, an MBH is just so amazingly tiny (at least at first) that it would only "suck in" nearby mass (within a few inches at most, if within a solid mass). So, it grows....slowly.....inexorably...

"Hole Man" was a good story but "The Borderland of Sol" might be better: imagine using a captive MBH to act as a point-mass to drop ships (abruptly) out of hyperdrive. Piracy in high space....and funny, there's never a trace of the leftovers. :)

Fascinating stuff indeed. Incidentally, my comments regarding "wooly thinking" and tripe like conspiracy theories and astrology are posted at www.crl.com/~vanyel/beliefs.html.

    Computer...COMPUTER...Hello, computer...

Actually, I thought it might be Radiohead's "OK Computer." Thanks, everyone for responding. Umm...here's another question from the ignorant. I'm not sure if this was discussed already. Sorry if it was. I've been too busy to read the jam in detail--just picking and choosing. Anyway, is that a "concept" album? You've got "Tommy," "The Wall," "The Final Cut." Pretty concept-y stuff accompanying that Radiohead album.

    Hello List,

I usually just lurk, but recently all the bigotry and narrow-mindedness has pulled me from the background. All these people talking about how tolerant they are of other's beliefs, lifestyles, etc. Yeah right! Hypocrites! You are only tolerant if you agree with someone. But mention something that might have a Christian conatation, and everyone is on you like a fly on shit.

Now... About these shits saying Jesus is gay. Just what the hell is your point?! To prove how narrow-minded and vindictive you can be? Do you usually dsplay this lack of tact and manners, or did they let you out wihtout adult supervision this time? I've been on this list for about half a year, and I have yet to see any "gay-bashing". But, there has been a lot of prejudiced feelings against Christians.

The word that comes to mind here is hypocrite; only this time the Christian are the only one that are not behaving that way. Its funny that the people who hate Christians, behave exaclty like they say that Christians do. Stupid, arrogant, close-minded, and vindictive.

Nah, we just jump on the Christian connotations because the whole religious debate thing is strictly forbidden in the Ytsejam Bill of Unrights that you can find via www.dreamtheater.net. Read it. Know it. It's the LAW. > Now... About these shits saying Jesus is gay. Just what the hell is your point?! To prove how narrow-minded and vindictive you can be? Nah dude, this is nothing compared to the shit us old school vets remember (research the ytsejam back logs for the titilating chapter of "Derek's Sexuality") :) I'm sure people are prejudiced against Christians for a lot of strong, motivating reasons. I don't think anybody wants to get into that debate here though...CAN I GET AN AMEN!? > The word that comes to mind here is hypocrite; only this time the Christian are the only one that are not behaving that way. before everyone gets completely sick of the religious/homosexuality debate just a few notes- * Nothing in the world is logical unless your a Christian, and even then that only explains a bit. No one 'lives a life of truth' as I have heard anti-Christians claim to be living. * Its funny how nearly all anti-religion replies are basically stupid, undeducated trash that think they can argue a christian out of his faith. it is also interesting that none of these people seem to have anything that gives them any credit- eg. i was once a christian but then saw the error of my ways, or something else. if you ever actually meet a christian and try and argue against i think your opinions may change substantially, because they basically have an answer to everything. * Whilst I am no expert on homosexuality i think that it is a sort of 'disorder' or whatever you wish to call it. I mean it just doesn't work. However, that is no reason to give homosexuals any less rights as us. If thats the way they are, thats the way they are, and it changes nothing about them. I have h.s. friends, in the same way as i have deaf friends and a friend without an arm. * No i am not Christian. * Dream Theater are cool. * I know this thread should have stopped long ago.

Thanks for clearing it all up with the truth.

    > now let's all just shut the fuck up.

    <saluting> Yes sir :)

    > I still think naturally > towards Maths, and I'm still taking a path that leads me into space science.

Bon Voyage :) Should we worry about you re-approaching Earth in a near orbit, anytime soon? :)

I think naturally in terms of comedy. You provide fodder :)

    > I think we're on the same side here, just at least listen to everybody's side.

But it appeared that Jeremy's side pissed you off. Or did I misintepret your words?

    > And please don't try to slot me into a category of person. I have a habit of > believing one thing, then people try to slot me, then I raise an opinion > against that slot, and they just can't understand, I mean, what the fuck is > that?

It's called showing someone the other side. So I guess it's ok to expect others to see all sides openly when it suits you; but when you're the object of that expectation, it's off-limits.

If you come in with an attitude and then can't be bothered when, at this point, more than one person disagrees with your tactics, then it's no wonder. To use the phrase "pisses me off" in the FIRST reply to an e-mail is strong enough to warrant being called on it. You don't like it, too fucking bad :)
