Actually, logic is at the core of everything. And by logic, I don't mean Mr Spock. Logic boils down to cause and effect. Even emotion and art follow rules of logic. We just don't like to admit it most of the time for selfish reasons.

Today is July 20, 1999. You all know what that means, right?

Of course you don't, you slackers. So I'm gonna have to tell you.

It means we're exactly eleven days past the much-celebrated one year anniversary of the official launch of YTSERADIO.

Yeah, you didn't expect THAT, did ya! Ha!

Those of you who have never checked us out, head over to http://www.dreamt.org/ytseradio for more info. Or skip all that and go straight to what matters- the music. Point your RealAudio player to http://progmetal.gmsnet.com/clips/ytseradio.ram and prepare to groove.

There's a little something for everyone, so dig it.

Well, after reading the one LONG review of the IM show that took place Sat night .. somewhere in Cali, i think. i felt compelled to listen to a little maiden.. Actually it didn't take the whole message to compell me...it was really the begining sentence of the Maiden show..... something like "They Churchill's speach".. that was all it took.. That has to be one of the greatest ways to begin a concert.. After my childhood, spent listening to "Live After Death" hour after hour.. day after day... just hearing his name causes "Aces High" to run through my head.. So today i scratched my usuall Manowar tapes and listened to LAD at work.. man.. that speechs must have some kind of subliminal message in it.. i feel the urge to drink a HUGE stien of beer and jump into the middle of whatever mosh pit is close by.. i tried to start one with the other guys at work, but that didn't go over well. With questions like "Who is Iron Maiden?". and "I got some Korn in my car. Wanna listen to it?" i felt compelled to search for older more learned co-workers.. But alas, the only one near was around at the time of the first Molley Hatchet concert.. and i didn't think he would like to slam chests.. (no disrespect for the older jammers, but this guy is a big old redneck.. cant read, cant write, loves old trucks, screams "Play some Skinnerd" frequently and often when there is no music playing, anywhere.) So i sought solitude, and spent the day jammer with bruce, adrian and the guys.. I get goose bumbs everytime he says "scream for me Long Beach".. and of course at the end of "Revelations" when the crowd guys scream "Motherfucker" loud as hell! Who is that guy?? I wanna congradulate him on a well timed top-of-the-lung scream. I saw maiden in charlotte during the Fear of the Dark Tour.. i had seats out side the covered stadium.. But at the end of Churchill's speech, i made a bullet-straigh bee-line for the mosh pit, that started in fron of the stage (in, on, under, and around the seats). IM and Metallica's concerts have been the most adrenaline pumping, sweatty, drunken and exhausting experiances of my life. With one exception.. Seeing Pantera at the Grady Cole Center (image Pantera at your high school gymnasium.. now add 3500 people!) shit. i couldn't get OUT of the mosh pit. I had to send outsiders to get me beer.. And i really didn't get to drink much of it.. i just opened my mouth as wide as i could and threw it at my face and hoped i got at least a quarter of it in. but i'm rambling..

On a side note.. in the beartracks studio videos over at www.mikeportnoy.com . I'd give my left nut, just to be that guy Brian, the faithfull assistant engineer! Man.. WHAT A JOB! i wonder if he's on the ytsejam anywhere.. (need to find him and hang him up by his left pinky toe until he spills all the beans!)

Depends, bud, you lumping yourself in with the idiot who wrote the original post that Korgy reposted? It's a shame if you are, because you are going through life making a huge fool of your ass, along with the rest of them. I may not be better than you are, and I sure as heck ain't better than most, if not all of the people on this list, but I AM better than that fuckstick, and do you know why? It's because when I go through life, I want to go through life with at least half a clue. This guy goes on and spouts off Nostradamus and passes it off like it was some sort of bloody fact. His poetry is so vague and so muddled that people 400 years later still don't know what the fuck he meant. Then he'll use this vague nonsense and try to pass it off as some truth to further some political policy which he can't change anyway!! It's idiotic, stupid, and, unfortunately the way people in general are bred to think nowadays. I don't know about tweedledum, but at the time Cassini went up, I took a long hard look at the RTG containment data. I wanted to know exactly what the chances are (which are all laid out on a NASA webpage) of Cassini taking the big plunge, and compare this to the scare tactics used on some of the webpages that I had read. It was AMAZING! The anti Cassini pages were chock full of misquotes and halftruths, and some outright lies. Allspread to further some misguided political aspiration. For crying out loud, if they'd spend time working on some ecological FACTS, like deforestation of the rainforest, or save the fucking whales, at least there would have been something productive going on. It reminds me of the sheeple who follow certain doomsday churches waiting for the end of the world that never comes. Yet they follow on and on, following the word of some dumb fuck who has them financially in the palm of his hand. Sad... all because they don't stop to look at the logic of it all. I sincerely hope you aren't like that.

Logic is only half of life. If you just look at the logic in > everything, you are going to get bored with life very quickly. If life was > all quickest way logic, do you think we'd have art or love? You come on here > with your degree in Astronomy and think you're better than everyone else.

Now you decide to put up the straw man, my friend. Perhaps you can point out to me the one simple place I said love did not exist or where emotion is incompatible with logic, or even imply such a silly thing. Go find another straw man to knock down since you can't seem to address my argument.

    > And before you start complaining that I don't appreciate logic, swallow > those words back down before they leave your mouth, my degree is in Software > Engineering, and I almost dumped it for Astrophysics.

Good for you. Perhaps you could have contributed a solid argument if you had gone into Astronomy, instead of this silly farce.

    > I can tell you now, I have never had confidence in the intelligence of the > scientist who can only ever see the *science* in anything.

And I've never had confidence in people who see conspiracies and ghosts everywhere, or spread lies and misinformation and try to pass it off as fact, or an informed opinion.

Are there any dreamers in the audience? Anyone who really gets a kick out of creating imaginary worlds in their heads? Nostradamus is the stuff of insanity. The stuff of dreams. You know, as much as I live in this world of technology where the cost of life is devalued as people become machinations that work all day, there is nothing I enjoy more than popping in a nice CD like the one I've got in right now and drifting off to another place. Be it via a book, a video game, a daydream, or whatever, I still like to let myself know that that child that used to believe in magic, and Santa Claus, and the Dukes of Hazzard didn't die. There's still an imagination in there.

And I think that whenever we drift off into these other worlds, we all have a secret wish that we could bring this world of dreams to reality. Life is boring. This whole fucking world is a waste of time. I think there's a whole shitload of people who wish that something exciting would happen. Something adventurous. Something heroic. There are no heroes left in this world. Just a bunch of stuffy bastards who sit in bunkers pushing buttons and playing God with other people's lives to the vacant applause of each other.

*ahem* hi. many of you have no idea who i am. at least one of you does (brian). anyway, my point here is, just because skadz is off getting piss drunk on guinness in ireland (woohoo!), doesn't mean we can start gay bashing...now i know this isn't the worst of gay bashing, but saying that he won't get into heaven *because he's gay* (which is exactly what is insinuated) is close enough for me. i'm not a man hating lesbian or anything, but i am an openly bisexual female. that kinda hurts, being that i am catholic and i do believe that god loves everyone, no matter who they choose to love. not everyone has to agree, but really now, was that necessary? i'm sorry, i probably shouldn't have even bothered to respond since religion/sexuality debates really aren't allowed here... and skadz is right for that, because it has no bearing on musical talent. so i apologize to anyone who found this unnecessary...i just had to get it off my chest. and hi brian... i want my cd back.

    Bollocks!

Ok, it's the old fear-mongering activists that started this crap. It's too bad that as soon as the first person startes unsubstantiated doomsday rumours, the media start eating it up and making it easy to believe. I first heard this story on the local news when Cassini was first launched, and it's amazing that in the time since then no one has actually published any facts. I guess the truth doesn't sell newspapers. Anyway, URLs containing things like "ufo", "antiwar", and "nonviolence" should be a clue, but if anyone is still in doubt I suggest following this link:

    http://www.brillscontent.com/complaint/cb_carlson_letter.html

It basically points out that even if Cassini hits the Earth, the most dangerous threat is that it will re-enter the atmosphere and land on someone's head. Unless you converted the plutonium to powder form and inhaled it, or somehow otherwise managed to actually intake a significant portion of it, there's no danger.

So in other words, the probability that Cassini will cause any harm to you is about the same as the probability of an army of horny pink homosexual transvestite elephants wearing leather chaps flying out of your ass and having a wild orgy on your front lawn. It's only a fantasy. :)
