No, actually that was our local "rock" station's
morning newsguy Chuck Shramek who started that whole
thing. He apparantly saw an object "following" the
comet thru his telescope. Art Bell picked up on it
after Shramek reported it. Let's be accurate here!
;) ;)
Besides, everyone knows the end of the world won't
come until DT releases that new album. :D

I marched tenors and bass in my highschool marching band.
Gosh those were the days.... I have a friend that was in
our drumline that ended up marching tenors in the Phantom
Regiment. Drum Corps has to be the most intense thing I
have ever seen done. So much concentration is needed. If
anyone ever gets a chance to see a Drum Corp I highly
suggest you go. It is simply amazing.

Hi there folks,
Here's the review that my girlfriend made for the Angra mailing list.
============================
Angra played in Sao Paulo, Brazil at Palace on July 16th and 17th
Anyway, let me tell you guys a little about the show: JUST AMAZING!
Seriously, it was one of the most kicking-ass concert I've seen in a long
time! I mean, of course there were some low points and all but it was great
anyway!!!
Here's the setlist (just the same for both concerts):
Intro
Wings of Reality
Nothing To Say
Lisbon
Metal Icarus
Carolina IV
Time
Drum Solo
Mystery Machine
Stand Away
Guitar Solo (Kiko)
Gentle Change
Angels Cry
Petrified Eyes
-- Encore
Carry On
Fireworks
Almost 2 hours of pure Angra! No Judas Priest(painkiller) nor Iron Maiden
covers
The show was pretty much based on Fireworks so of course we missed some
songs like Holy Land, Zito, Make Believe and the great Evil Warning, but I
think they were right to focus the last album now, they did not do that last
time I saw them live and it was one of the first concerts for the Fireworks
Tour then! And I think the sound was ok, no major problems at all!
Anyway, concerning opening acts: Karma and Henceforth were absolutely great!
Karma kicked some serious butts on the first show.
The second night was more powerful, the band was more excited (of course,
they should be! The first night was extremely crowded and the audience was
wild - they had to be happy the day after!!), they were all laughing and
playing with each other and Andre was more talkative and even joked with the
audience. he also sang parts of Carolina IV out of the stage ( in the
plataform that was
the path to the lightning booth, just left to the stage) ! He gave the mic
to the audience and they
sang a little of Fireworks! Ok, so there was this girl who just screamed
"Andre I love you!"-
The stage set was very cool and the lightning was very effective.
For those who never saw Angra live in the Fireworks tour, they are bringing
circus people who plays with that sticks on fire, and some of them do some
fire spitting.
Well, we heard that they would be playing at Wacken Festival this year, but
I read that the festival was cancelled.
Also there were rumors that the american gigs were cancelled too.
C- ya,
Gilberto (on behalf of Adriana)

First of all, I'd like to thank the guy that went to all this trouble.
Everyone seems eager to say "fuck you, it doesn't work". It doesn't
work though.. the problem is in the javascript calling for a new
window. I suggest taking all this code out and simply targetting the
link to "_new". I suck at javascript so I can't immediately spot the
error, maybe you'll want to have someone else look at it. There's no
reason you need to control the size of the window at all, or its
behavior, so you can just scrap that and have it open in a new window.

Hello,
I agree with you but there is some difference. What if
I would play on my album the beginning of 6:00? Is that
only an inspiration or rip-off? Or if I would play Blood Sugar
Sex Magic intro by Chad Smith? The people would not
tell I just got inspired by that. And don't mention lame 4/4
basic rock rhytm. It's a standard like swing, bossa-nova,
samba, etc.

For fuck's sake, it is people like you that really piss me off. You come on
this list and say we're all away with the fairies. Well excuse me, but are
you actually naive enough to think that we don't believe there's a logical
explanation? Logic is only half of life. If you just look at the logic in
everything, you are going to get bored with life very quickly. If life was
all quickest way logic, do you think we'd have art or love? You come on here
with your degree in Astronomy and think you're better than everyone else.
And before you start complaining that I don't appreciate logic, swallow
those words back down before they leave your mouth, my degree is in Software
Engineering, and I almost dumped it for Astrophysics.
I can tell you now, I have never had confidence in the intelligence of the
scientist who can only ever see the *science* in anything.

Sorry for the excess posts all at once, I know they could have been one, but frankly I couldn't be bother to cut and paste.
Now let me get this straight, is Garsed or MacAlpine. You can always learn a lot from Garsed, the guy is in no doubt, a melodic genius. Incedentally, does anyone know where I can get Garsed And Helmerich's Exempt?

Well, if I see anything, I'll try and get it on the jam before the international media gets it, depending on my, er, vital signs at that point.

If instinct is the word of God, which for many people it undoubtably is, then you don't need to be religious to understand what he is saying, BUT, before you start off again, read on......
> Well... It just so happens that I found out that a friend of mine I've > known since 6th grade decided it was time to step out and tell everyone that > he was gay. You know what? Here, a certain difference must be raised, a difference that many seem to miss. It is not necessarily homosexuals, which humans dislike, but homosexuality. This guy's your friend, just because he says he's homosexual doesn't mean you're suddenly going to hate the guy, of course not. But if he asked whether you preferred him to be gay or straight, however much you shout at me that you wouldn't mind either way, deep inside you, the voice of instinct would prefer him straight, even if it's just that littlist urge.
The point is, the minute that that instinct starts to prefer the other way, we can kiss goodbye to the human race.

sorry for having no DT content, but...
With all this talk about Nostradamus/Cassini/impregnated alien albino weremice I must throw in my two cents about Art Bell. I am a rabid Art Bell fan: I listen to his show every night, usually for the whole 5-hour duration or whatever (it's easier when it's summer and I don't have to worry about real commitments :-) ). I don't believe 95% of the stuff he and his guests and his wacko callers talk about, although I don't think he does either. However, it's a very entertaining show, and it does make you think about all the weird stuff they talk about, and from time to time something actually makes sense. It's my favorite radio show, and is great for long drives in the desert late at night (a nice thing about living in Tucson, AZ)!

Yep, I was in marching band in HS. I really miss it, but I don't have time for nightly practices and going to football games in college. Plus, I saw the band miserable and hot playing in uniform at the Rose Bowl, no thanks. There haven't been any decent corps in the LA are since Velvet Knights were shut down. There is another one, Pacific Crest, but it seems like a rookie corp to me. I had friends who were in that corp and they practiced several times a week, in the middle of a SoCal summer. They were gone so much I hardly ever saw them. I didn't have time for the commitment, plus I had other uses for $400. By the way, I saw in the Bible Code "Amanda" "destiny" and "master of world", written in plain Hebrew, all interlinked. A likely story, about as likely as any other religios garbage.

Fuck you, chris oates! Personally, I'll never understand the concept of faith, and I sure as hell have no religous faith. And one reason(not the main one, tho!) i hate religion so much is the way people are always having to die 'cus they don't want all that faith shoved down their throat. It never ends. So I understand a little backlash against the whole thing.
But let's please not go walking around w/a sledgehammer bonking everyone with a bible. OK, what the guy(jesse?) said was kind of hokey. Whatever, man! "Let's point and laugh" has got to be one of the cruelest things I have ever seen on this list. You know who you're like, chris? You know those purple twin girls on the simpsons? Based on what you said above, that's you.
A close friend of mine is very religous. whenever he gets drunk he starts spouting forth with honest concern for my well being, since I will be going to hell. It's never got in the way of our friendship. He has only my best interests at heart.
To be honest, I don't recall if your posts are normally this dick-headed. I really don't remember. For all I know, you may have bought my shirt. :) You could be a great guy. I'm basing this flame on just that one sentence of yours, so if it was just a slip, or if maybe I'm grossly misinterpreting it, then I'm definitely sorry.
The thing of it is, Jesse made an effort to keep this off the list and redirect it to his inbox. On top of that, I felt his hokey post was made in a mature manner. I think he demonstrated that his opinions and beliefs were his own, and he had no intention of ramming them down your throat, so why the hell should you care?

Actually, dude, whats sadder is someone like you who is ignorant enough and intolerant of people so that you think it's sad when someone's preferences are not in alignment with yours. You either live in the deep south and were raised by right wing militia extremists, or you are a close-minded, prejudiced fool. Sorry if it's both but if people like you would understand that not everyone can live up to your holier than thou expectations or be a perfect human being with no flaws or live their life as they seem fit, even though it has no bearing on your own, then maybe this world could be a slighty better place.
