Okay, I hope that someone going to this clinic decides to video tape it. I
have about 4-7 JP clinics on video and I just don't get tired of them. I will
trade my LTE video or any other video I have for a copy. If I have nothing
you want, I'll pay for a copy. I just need to see this clinic.
Besides, in my country we do not have Guitar Clinics. We can't afford them.
We have Vocalist Clinics because they work for beer. Sometimes we give the
vocalist a guitar and make a bootleg guitar clinic. I'd prefer a real guitar
clinic, but when you are a father and your son is begging you ..... what can
you do? It's life and death.

What the fuck is your problem???? I just did a search for "Dream Theater"
(in quotations) on AltaVista; The search returned 9759 hits. IMHO, that's
a little overwhelming.
One of the PRIMARY functions of the Jam is HELPING other DT fans.
If you put half the effort into helping other Jammers with DT related
questions as you do bitching..... Nuff said.

I'd like to say thanks to the people on the jam for the last couple

but for the most part I like the list. My last day at this job is on
Friday
and I'm taking a week off before starting my new job. So I'll see everyone

Symphony X is prog metal.
Let me correct myself.
Symphony X IS prog metal.
Heavy, technical, wonderful production, fantasy lyrics (for the most
part), WONDERFUL singer. The whole shootin' match.
I'd even go so far as to say they're even more prog-metal than
Dream Theater is. I hope DT's next album proves me horribly HORRIBLY

Whoops! Sent that accidentally!
Anyway, I hope DT proves me wrong on this next album with Jordan.
Speaking of Devin - I have to agree with the recent throng of swooning.
My favorite album of all time: Sex & Religion by Vai. (Devin is on
vocals and is ALL OVER the album.)
Ocean Machine is too beautiful for words
Infinity is too weird for words. (I like it, but not as much as Ocean
Machine and Sex & Religion)
Devin certainly is a genius, and a prolific one at that!
Later!

I would say, like you'll listen, that the first to albums of Fates
Warning are a lot like Iron Maiden, only more progish.
On the other hand, Fates sounds not so much like Theater, it's harder,
and Jim Matheos playes a simpler guitar-sound than John and Zonder,
well, over the years I think I can say, without beeing an
Warning-expert, that FW has become less harder, even with FII.
But now, anybody out there really know what progressive rock is? This

Do YOU call YOURself an intelligent poster?
Think about that again!
You should take the following advice:
First read, then write!
1.) I never said anything about Jimi Hendrix being THE greatest
guitar player on earth. I spoke of ONE of the greatest guitar players
on earth.
2.) I also know that the name of the greatest guitar player now
living on this planet starts with J and ends with ohnpetrucci, but the
guy I replied to was talking about great BLUES-Musicians, as far
as I know. So I replied that he has forgotten Jimi Hendrix on his
list. What=B4s wrong about that?
3.) If you want to write such junkmails again, please choose
another person to replyto or another mailing list!
Christoph
PS: REMEMBER 1.) READ
2.) WRITE !!!!!

What, I've had it for a few years now, but I've just got to say that 'Insights' is one righteous album. Except for the passable singing it's damn near perfect. If it's no longer available, no, you can't have my copy.
I think it's one important element in common with 'Images & Words' - it's neither too heavy nor too light, and I think, for some reason, this tends to make tempo and time sig changes very smooth and natural.
Don't know that I want the new stuff to be harder, though. The split-second Cookie Monster vocals in the 'Solicide' clip make me nervous...

Symphony X is by far my favorite band that I have heard about on the
ytsejam (I could say "the best", but of course that's just my opinion)
;o).
Their style is neo-classical prog metal. Think of early Yngwie
Malmsteen and then extend that into todays prog-metal sound. Much
better song writing and one of the best vocalists anywhere. Very long
songs, lots of changes (time changes, soft to heavy passages, etc.),
great playing and singing. If you like that style, you can't go wrong.
