hey, i'm sure someone on the jam knows the answer to this riddle that
    plagues me:

in 1989, arista records released an album self titled "Anderson,
    Bruford, Wakeman, Howe"..
great album, i've had it for a while now, but never could figure out why
it's not an official Yes album..
maybe cause chris squire isn't on bass?.. i dunno..

maybe one of you enlightened folk could put my mind at rest..

Kubrick's new movie "Eyes Wide Shut" is due out sometime later this year. It stars Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, and took several years to complete because he kept ordering reshoots. Unfortunately, he was so disorganized (he was gettin old) that every time he ordered a reshoot he wanted to refilm almost the entire movie, and none of the cast members were available. This caused several cast changes and there are now at least 3 or 4 incarnations of the film. Luckily he did complete it before he died, and the final cut has been finished and screened by the studios.

I pretty sure that you answered that one yourself. As far as I know, Chris Squire formaly owns the rights to the name "Yes".

After Yes completed Big Generator, in 1987, I believe Jon Anderson left the group. Whether or not it was a sticky situation, when Anderson joined ABWH, Chris Squire decided to remain with Trevor Rabin and work on Yes material. As a result, Chris Squire withheld the name 'Yes' from ABWH's use.

Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman and Howe actually did get to use the name Yes, later on. When they were recording the 2cd ABWH album, everyone ended up calling eachother for one reason or another. It turned out that Squire added some vocal tracks to some of the ABWH stuff and Jon Anderson added some vocal tracks to the new Yes Material. They combined the material to create the Yes - Union album.

    Hey folks,

I just wanted to remind you that we have a private fantasy baseball league set up, predominantly for jammers. It's with cbs.sportsline.com. After some serious research into all of the different providers of roto leagues, cbs prooves to be the best one, with all of the neat bells and whistles. They also don't seem to have too many badnwidth problems, as opposed to Sandbox which is constantly being bogged down. The cost is $19.99 for the whole season (it works out to like 11 cents per game). There's a few spots left, so anyone who's interest, please email me for the league ID and password at fmb@frontierlogic.com

Becaus he's the only member to be on every album, Chris Squire owns the name "Yes" to be put on albums. Because CS isn't on the ABWH album, they can't call it "Yes" - I think they tried, and CS sued them over it (though I may be off base here).

Yes, I've seen DT live, and yes it was sold out, in a St. Louis theater. Best concert I've ever witnessed in my life, the Awake tour. I've also seen M234345allica across the way at Riverport, 40,000 ppl, sold out, the Black tour, back when ya could still type their name without puking and all... Ozzfest, all that nice stuff...

I think ya might have missed my point perhaps... there is a difference though between a DT concert and, perhaps OZZY... different atmosphere, *totally* different...

I would also say that, that little bit I posted was a small obserbational rambling thing, and that I'd take the DT type of atmosphere any day, don't get me wrong here =)

Actually, Ice, I believe that you have said that you are female. If you're not, then I must be misremembering something, but I seem to remember something about Ice being female and Fire being a male. But I could be wrong. Not to mention the fact that you named yourself after the "Ice Queen" so you're either female or in drag. :)

    OK, 2 off topic things.

First, there's a new song by Grendel up for you to download if interested. "Taps for a Dead Channel." "Taps" starts out as an ambient song and then builds to an orgasmic frenzy. Hey, I knew you'd like that. A surprisingly accessible frenzy, as well, for me at least. We'll see how well it works. Many of the sonic textures on this song are my voice, heavily looped and processed, but sounds are also provided by keyboard, flute, and the guitar of our own Tarkus.

The new song is under "Songs" at the Grendel webpage, which can be found either at http://listen.to/grendel or at the URL in my .sig. The only difference between these two URLs is the page title. Tell me what you think.

Second, anyone here not have Shadow Gallery's Carved in Stone who wants it? I could sell it for $5 + shipping however you want it shipped. Or not. Just asking.

Al? ...or should that be Big Gay Al (South Park >trivia: did you know that George Clooney played the dog in that episode?)

Yeah? You say that now... But wait until I get behind you and make your eyes bug-out like a Pekinese.

If you like to listen to your tunes LOUD, and weight is not an issue, I'd go with the infamous Koss Pro 4aa's. (If you can find them) $125.00 - $150.00 If your looking for more detail and imaging, (at the expence of modest playback levels) I would look into Grado SR125 $150.00 or the Sennheiser HD570 Symphony $144.95. The $95 Grado SR80 is a BEST BUY for under $100.00 You may also want to look into the AKG K501... About $160.00.

    For more detailed information, take a poke around these places: http://members.aol.com/headphone2/index.htm http://www.audiofx.com/akg/k501.html http://www.koss.com/ http://www.sennheiser.com/ http://www.akg-acoustics.com/headphones.html http://headwize.com/articles/hguide_art.htm

I have three pairs of headphones, each pair has a different application.

Koss Pro 4 AA - For loud presentations. Sennheiser HD425 - For comfort. Koss ESP 950 (Electrostatic) - For detail and imaging. (my reference pair)

The ESP 950's are like wearing a car on your head. FUCKING HEAVY! I usually lay down and support the headphones on a pillow.

It's almost shameful that I haven't listened to any of my headphones in over four months. :( I like my main speaker system much better. I normally drive the electrostats with my tube amp, I'm afraid to connect them to the big amps for fear of accidentally destroying them because I had a brain fart and set the output too high. The tube amp is back in storage.... For now. :)

I really need to acquire a dedicated headphone amp. My larger amps have no provisions for headphones, and I would rather not insert something in-line.

    Anyway... I hope this helps.
