-I remember reading one of those where Yngwie said that Steve Morse's -vibrato sucked. That comment might offend just a FEW people on this list. - -I also recall Yngwie saying something to the effect of "Unlike other -guitarists, I refuse to play things that are rubbish..." This was -obviously pre-1990, when Yngwie started playing NOTHING BUT rubbish (well, -80% rubbish anyway). -

I remember a rumor from a while ago. He supposedly sent thank you notes to various hotshot guitarists, thanking them for not copying him. Can anyone confirm that? I think it was written in a guitarworld ages ago. And Satriani himself said the guy is an asshole :) Oh well.. I still dig his playing.

P.S. Can someone that has seen King's X on this tour post or privately email me with a brief review of the show and setlist... aprecciate it

I can recommend you Teac4W, used it for a year or so, no frisbies whatsoever. Stay away from rewritables, it's not worth the hassle, and the CDR media is getting rediculously cheap anyway.

Really ?! I though he was the only guy who could play in that band (not talking about Bret Michaels - that guy has an awesome voice). If you wanted to mention the worst musician you should have chosen CC Devile. Speaking about worst guitar players.

IMO Poison has released one brilliant CD and that's "Native Tongue". Too bad that the band's collaboration with Richie Kotzen didn't last too long.

Enough Poison ramblings for today.

Hi, there's been a few messages here about the music of Al Dimeola, Paco Delucia and others, and I was hoping someone could point out the right albums to begin with to a guy with a liking for technically flashy playing (Vai/Satriani/Malmsteen/Becker/..., you get the picture). Now I do listen also different kinds of music, I just would like to stay on a somewhat safe ground when buying cds from completely unknown (to me, that is) artists. From what I read I got the picture there are some records with a definite presence of the shred factor... Thanks in advance, all help is appreciated. Hey all:

>I don't know why that changed the name to Queensryche, It was at their (then) management's urging...they thought "The Mob" wouldn't fly -- he was right. It is purely a shortening of the song title "Queen of the Reich" -- the members have stated in interviews that they wanted to use that name(Queensryche), but didn't want to thought of as Nazi sympathizers -- therefore the change in spelling. :-) ttfn CHRIS * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * "You live and learn. Heh, I like using that TEMPO plugin on Winamp to slow the the pitch too. Problem with that is no matter how much I slow it down, Mike's stuff doesn't seem to get any less intricate. Sometimes it seems to get more intricate :)))

Anyone know if there's a plug in for Winamp that will play a sample backwards? I've heard a rumor that if you play ANY DT song backwards you can hear the words:

"Good (Kurzweil) shall always triumph over evil (KorgX3)" -- MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Michael wrote: > I remember reading one of those where Yngwie said that Steve Morse's > vibrato sucked. That comment might offend just a FEW people on this list.

I've said it a million times, but it's true: the truly decent musicians out there don't have to rag on others. They lead by example. Remember Petrucci's repsonse to the BM bullshit? JP had nothing bad to say. "Let the music.......do the talking" :)

Maybe I'll have to go check out some Yngwie to see if his playing is as large as his ego :) Any URLs out there? I've been a fan or Morse since around '76, yet I would never be offended, because those words do nothing to take away from the enjoyment Morse's playing gives me. Perhaps Yngwie was so jealous of the intense amounts of feeling that Morse has, he had to find SOMETHING wrong with his playing, so maybe that's Morse's weakness? :) Maybe someone else can comment on actual studies done to confirm suckage rates produced by his vibrato? Or maybe perform your own lab experiment (http://www.stevemorse.com/tours.html). Sorry about the format, I cleaned it up a little, then gave up ;) You might want to view this in a wide window or just go to the page. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Deep Purple Tour Dates

Just download a little program called "musicians cd player". It allows you to slow down every part of a cd without lowering the pitch. I have checked it out and it works. The solos can be made much slower and you still can play along with your guitar. Check it out.

I mean I take your point, we should be gratefull that there's one less heroin user walking the streets, but then, I suppose that we almost owe him for killing himself so that we don't have to bother.
