Anyone ever have a problem with credit card security there
or any web site that doesn't use a secure server?
What I want to know is...am I gonna get burned by ordering
from them? They have a nice selection, it seems...
They've also got stuff I can't seem to find anywhere else.
Anyone know of any sites to order jazz CDs that does
have a secure server aside from CDNow and Music
Blvd.; they don't have what I'm looking for.

It doesn't surprise me at all. Jon Oliva (Savatage, for those who don't
know) wrote a song for Raw. I think it was called "War is Raw" or something
like that. Me little bro watches too much wrestling for one person and I
overheard Jon O.'s unmistakable voice on the TV one night and soiled myself.
Chris Jericho is a DT fan, as well. OiaL was in the Now Playing spot on his
column not long after it came out. Judging from what Steve Austin listens
to (re: Stone Cold Metal CD) I wouldn't be surprised to find him being a DT
fan as well. Perfect Strangers was on his disc, as well as a Rainbow song.
Not bad taste. :)
And you guys are all fucked when it comes to John Myung's heritage. Just
look at his fingers, he's E.T. Don't listen to Doc Mosh, he doesn't know as
he was only released from carbonite 2 years ago and is still recovering from
hibernation sickness, even now.

I must admit, I'm kind of butting into this thread without the proper background, having not looked at any of the past several digests, but I would just like to go on record has having said that I don't care very much whether John Myung is Japanese or Korean or Zulu or Martian. What matters is that he's a really good bass player :) Maybe if word gets to him and he's particularly proud of his lineage he'll e-mail the 'jam and dispel any myths once and for all (or if he's really sneaky, he'll lie to us and perpetuate the controversy for generations to come) :)

have any of you (that responded to me) ever thought that just maybe if the masses were to be exposed to something besides empty-headed bubble gum crap that they would receive the chance to like it and the bands would receive the exposure that most of them greatly need
instead it just seems that through media hype and clever gimmicks music is more of a fashion show or another band jumping a bandwagon to a new style than anything moving forward....yes, progressing.
I'm just tired of good talented people not getting exposure while so-called groups like Spicegirls and Hanson and Marilyn Manson (for that matter since someone asked if i was a fan) are all over the place
But in the final paragraph let me say that if anyone who would respond to this does...just remember 2 things...number one / Its not because i dont grab that "vibe" they let off with...its because musically they are trivial and producer-doctored(dictated)
and two....I truly am as easy-going as they come ;> so dont worry about your local high school---for now ;?

Dude! You HAVE to hear the title track "Lucifer's Friend." That tune is HeAvY and eRiE... The keyboard sounds make Jon Lord's creepiest work sound like "The Happy Organ."
Unfortunately, the album I have has more than it's fair share of kerpops, but I'm still considering running a cable pair from the line out of my preamp to the line in of my sound card. If that works out, I'll post the MP3 file on my page and send the link to the Jam. That tune is down right creepy.

I was at a little party this weekend, and this cool dude (who's a jazz fan, as well as a King Crimson & Rush fan...... sounds like a possible DT convertee) was playing a pretty neat mellow jazz disc, but I can't remember the name!
I asked the poor guy to repeat it like 5 times, but I'll be damned if I still can't remember what it was. I think I can blame Mr. Blue for that. (Mr. Labatt Blue) I do remember that the group name was three names, and I believe the last two names were Martin & Wood. I'm pretty sure the name of the CD was "Combustible" or something.
Could somebody tell me the name of this group? (And also, some opinions on this disc would be cool. I remember liking it....... but I was rather hammered, so who knows if my head was on straight).
