    Yo.

    1. Wicked City isn't all that wicked.

    2. This high-tech audiophile discussion has me intrigued, but as someone who
knows very little about the intricacies of sound ("Loud" and "Louder" are my
main technical terms), I'm not afraid to admit that I'm more than a little
lost when trying to follow this thread. Can someone (Al?) point me to 'The
Complete Idiot's Guide to Following an Audiophile Discussion on The
    Ytsejam'? Private replies are cool.

    3. No spoilers. Going on the advice of Mr. Ptacek, I'm completely and
utterly avoiding any contact with the album whatsoever until 26 Oct.
Hopefully, I'll be thoroughly blown away.

    4. Picked up Angra's 'Holy Land', which is impressive (though the singer's
enunciation sometimes leaves a little to be desired). Not quite what I
expected, but that's cool, because it turned out to be a very interesting
listen, esp. Carolina IV. Also picked up Mulmuzzler, which I think is
fucking great. I threw it in and my colon was torn asunder, basically. It's
actually inspired me enough to REALLY REALLY want to go out, get a 4-track,
drum machine, and a guitar, and make my own music instead of hunting down a
    band. :)

I'll repeat my original comment again (some people just don't get it ;o)

"You're trying to sneak a peek at something that obviously is not meant for you to
    see"

It would be different if you were browsing an ftp site. If Mark wanted you to see
and download everything that's on his server space, he would have linked it on his
homepage. That's what it's there for. One could thinks it's sloppy to upload files
you don't want to share but I still think it's very disrespectful to be searching
for files on a homepage's server space.

She probably don't want you looking at any of her stuff and this is not the case
with UACM. Mark has specified on the vast amount of html files available, what he
    wants everyone to see.

    Woman:
    - Gather around everyone, I'm gonna pour out everything in my purse on this table
    so you can see it.

    Woman thinking:
*I'll keep this 25 inch rubber dildo in the bag cause it might give the wrong
    impression*

Mark probably have his share of "rubber dildo's" in his "handbag" that he doesn't
want public yet. Sorry for this Mark, I admit it's getting kinda ridiculous :o)
    *LOL*

    > the top of the pile). Can you see what I'm getting at here?

I definitely see your point, but often webmasters are careless and upload files
temporarily for a friend. I've done it many times without protecting it with a
password. My point is you shouldn't have to. I consider the server space of a
homepage as holy ground and should be left alone by unauthorized persons.

    > And sure, it's not great netiquette if you go searching through peoples'
    > directories. But it's by no means wrong or illegal.

I never said it was illegal, but I did say (I'll add a IMO this time) I think it's
wrong and definitely disrespectful, and even though our opinions differ it's
always nice to argument with intelligent people. Thanks for the bandwidth,

    It's been real!

    Guys,

    *****SPOILER SPOILER*****

Ok, so it was mentioned that the whole album could be played live (and
anyone who's heard the second CD of Marrilion's "Thieving Magpie" will know
that this is an awsome idea). How about this....Open with Metropolis Pt1
(like they used to) then do the new album in its entirety....oh God, I've
got to go to the bathroom now...... :) Lets not forget that most people who
go to the shows won't know that this is going to happen ('cause not everyone
is on this list...!). Imagine your seeing the band for the first time, you
love the new album....the play the opening track - so cool....the play the
nextone... excellent...they play the third - I CAN'T BEILIEVE THIS...! they
    play the fourth.....etc....etc.... - FRENZY....!

On to the "Home" single. I've been playing it to a whole bunch of people at
work (I got an MP3 of the Single Edit - thanks to the God of all that is
Bovine). The general consensus from non-DT people is that the main riff
kicks major arse..! In fact my friend (who is a major Pearl Jam nut) is
considering buying the CD on Tuesday based solely on that riff....! Can't
    be bad.

    Hi jamming people,

Could someone please give me a good reason why there is a veil of
secresy till October 26 when in Europe the CD is already in the stores
almost everywhere (listening and looking to it right now)?

Some of you might say:'It's because the official release date in the US
is October 26' but I always thought the Ytsejam mailinglist was
something worldwide and not an American only thing.

Theoretically the veil should be there till the CD is available in all
countries similar to what they do at TheForce.net where they still post
with SPOILERS till The Phantom Menace is showing in all countries

    Anyone got any bright ideas?

Mark, I wanted to say thanks for responding. I'm always one open for
critisism and feel that I might be able to learn from some if its done
constructively. Lets see what I might be able to learn from your lil'
ditty!!!........... "Not quite great"........well, practice makes perfect,
ok so we will do some more woodsheadding!!! no problem.... Not quite shitty,
well thanx!!!!?..... I think!?!?? Please stop spamming for Wicked

spam?!??!??...... SPAM!!!! Now I'm confused, Isn't this a "Progressive
Metal" chat page where everybody "SPAMS" there opinion on which band is
better that the other band. Or which keyboard player for Dream Theater
rules supreme. Well instead of only having the limitations of talking about
the ones who've already made it....I'm giving you conversation about the
up-and-coming bands that are also trying to make it (including my band.)

HOW IS THAT?? Glad You asked......

Our web page is set up thru a company (MP3.COM) that does some the
BEST things for unsigned and signed alike. For more info check out their web
site at http://www.mp3.com/ also if your in an unsigned and would like
YOUR music on CD check out what they have to offer at
    http://www.mp3.com/newartist/newdam.html . As for the non-musician and
musician fans of music. One can shop thru all of these artist and get
free....YES FREE MP3s to listen to on your computer. Yes some of us on
there are "Not quite great" and some of the ones might be down right shitty"
BUT there are some ARE very Talented and downright Great..(Check out the
Progressive Metal Board and see for yourself
    http://genres.mp3.com/music/pop_rock/metal/progressive_metal/ ) Also, not
ALL of them are small artist.. Fates Warning even has a small page with them
    http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/10/fates_warning.html

Hopefully some of the readers here are in bands themselves and I will be
privlaged to hear their music due to my "spamming"

And in the wise words of Forrest Gump...."And That's All I Have To Say About
    That"

Now as for MY band hopefully some of you on this page likes what they hear
and downloads the Free song. Or, Heaven forbid buy our CD. So...As I've
    Spammed Before!!!

OK, so I have heard from a number of people that the album is already
out in some places (aka Europe). Please do NOT discuss this album on
the list yet. I originally said when it comes out, but that very much
meant the official release date in the states. So, basically 5AM GMT,
you can talk about the CD :) Thats midnight East Coast. Please try
to keep with my wishes here. Just a couple more days.

    Thanks,

Yes yes, good good (anyone catch what movie reference gets ..nothing :p) the point is, you dont need to spam (yes, spam) us with your Bands url, 4 or 5 times per jam ...or you could at least type up a message or something, describing and not the automated-looking same message everytime w/ pasted url...

I attended my first DT experience on May 19th - the JP/MP clinic in Manchester. I noticed a couple of people recording it and was curious if any of these people were on the jam. If you are, I'd like to discuss with you a way of getting a recording of this clinic, since it WAS my first experience and I'd like to listen to it again if possible.

I was just listening to Hell's Kitchen, and was reminded that they played this at the clinic - I realized that I really wanted to hear this clinic again, as they played some incredible stuff there.

Thanks in advance, and please respond via private email unless somebody else on the jam indicates a similar preference to getting this recording.

Maybe because Dream Theater is a U.S. band... if DT was from Europe, things might be different.

"I think that we can say this, I mean, this album is better than 'Images And Words.' It's what we've been wanting to do for a while now. We're a perfect set now with Jordan in the band. Derek was good, but Jordan is the best in the world, in my opinion, just because he's incredible. I think that when people hear this album, they're gonna be excited. I'm not supposed to tell you everything about it, but it is a concept album. It's lyrically about regression and a past life. It's a cool story based around a man finding out, by being regressed by psycho therapy, he learned he lived a previously life and in it he was a girl. And this girl was living a life somewhat deceitful and exciting, and the two men she was having a relationship with were brothers."

Yes, but what's cool about it is the insane dedication some people have for finding out stuff about SFaM, and that does nothing to detract from the fact that it's disrespectful. It's not just UACM, it's all homepages.

    Hello everyone

I got the same autoreply about 'Home' - see below. As you can see, I didn't put the word request in the title, although it IS in the body of the message. I would suggest mailing them without the word request anywhere at all in the message!

Probably because Godsmack used to be an AIC cover band.

We all know a few....that doesn't make it true. Someone who has never done it has no idea how difficult being a teacher can be.
