This was sent to the jam back in July. Thought I
would send it again since we have all this pre-ordering
going on and this $10 discount is still valid.

Q2k. its growing rapidly on me. Whether its where I am in my life that I can
relate or that I am just getting into the music more with each listen probably
both. (definitely give it a LISTEN, it has some good depth that can be picked up
through a good listen). Tate is very emotional IMO on this one for the most
part, like on How Could I? and Right side of my mind. His vocals bring me back
to Empire and Mindcrime days. This one is much better than Hitnf. I give it an
overall positive review.

You don't necessarily need to know the album title, just see if there is anything listed that you have never heard of before. Obviously, if it isn't i&w, wdadu, awake, acos, ffi, or oialt, then you got it. At 01:27 AM 9/17/99 , you wrote:

OK, I have not been following everything, but in reading what I have been following, I have to ask. What is wrong with everybody here? I have been on the jam since the end of 1995, and this has to be the most ridiculous pre album crap I have ever read. The band wants everything kept a secret, so fine. I will respect that. If I choose to spoil the album for myself by hunting down info, that is my choice. But don't you think you guys are going a little overboard? How is an album title and song listing going to ruin it. Are you expecting met II to be there? Will the album title really ruin it? I don't know, this always seems to be a "let's see if we can make the Jam stoop lower and lower each year." If the band wants things kept secret, then shut up about it. And don't give out info under the guise of "don't go here if you don't want to see." This is retarded, folks. I know the anticipation is high. I know we are all starved for new discussions. Hell, I would rather read the dismal q2k reports than this crap. It is one thing to stifle the list, but if the band really wants it not discussed or given away, then don't post a review, don't post a track list, don't do anything. Unsubscribe if you have to. What the hell am I saying? I don't know. I have mixed thoughts about all of this, but I just want to idiocy to end.

Anyway, I do support the local retailers, but in a city like DC they really don't care if they satisfy me or not. They won't have the new DT in the store, unless I tell them at least a week before that I want it. And guess what? They're going to say... "hmm we have "[title snipped]" on schedule for next week. Is that the one?"
It's just simple logic. But again, I respect the band's wishes and those of the jammers who don't want to know a thing.

Actually, no! The scary thing is he actually OWNED I&W, AWake, and FII. He'd just never looked through the liners and such. He'd noticed that they "had an asian bass player" and that was bout it :P I dunno, I guess he thought maybe one of the guitarists sang as well. It doesn't matter in the long run :)

i was at my friend`s house today and we were listening to music for a bit and then he turned on the radio instead... i don`t listen to radio much although sometimes you can hear some great stuff surprisingly, like today. So, they played some Guns `N Roses... and then I hear Judas Priest`s "Touch Of Evil" and then... comes the trouble. They play this great instrumental, and as we were listening to it, i realised how much it rocks so i grabbed a lousy worn-out tape and put it in his even-lousier tape recorded and i record the song... around 2.30 minutes of it. But.... i sure as hell don`t know what i was listening to, and i still don`t. So, i made an mp3 of it, and i uploaded it onto my site... so if anyone could download it (around 1.5 megs) and tell me what the hell it is... i`d be very grateful. Some great keyboard work and guitar... man, it`s absolutely amazing. The quality is pretty good considering what i used to record it :-). So, you all can download it and hear some great keyboard and guitar shredding... and when you`re at it, you might as well tell me what the hell is it so i can go downtown tomorrow morning and buy the damn cd. :-)

It's just a glitch at cdnow, don't worry, your order will complete at the $12.49 price.
I called cdnow and spoke to a rep who verified this, he also said if any of you don't recieve the discount, that you can just simply contact them and they'll fix it. But I went ahead and placed an order myself (yes, I have a promo copy but still support the band) and it worked like he said. Somewhere in the process it said $14.99, but when I completed the order it totaled out with the $12.49 sale price.
And yes, they do display the album name, but not the tracks.

Well I guess I'm one of the new victims of the ytse-inquisition since Skadz declared his new policy on the new album. I was involved in a discussion about the new album with some fellow jammers in the IRC channel, when a fellow jammer told me that he had some mp3s of the new album. I had already been told one of the track names which I originally didn't want to hear, but once I did my curiousity was peaked and I couldn't hold out any longer. I asked for the mp3 just after someone posted the entire tracklisting which I DIDN'T want to see nor did I ask for. Skadz picked that moment to sit down at the keyboard, say we didn't respect the band's wishes (which I guess we didn't) and promptly banned me from the server. Although I do admit I was wrong in asking for the mp3s, I did not reveal any information and there for am not responsible for any breach in the "veil of secrecy" and would ask to be reinstated on the IRC server, but I guess that's for Skadz to decide. Just thought you all might enjoy, sympathize, or "told you so" about this story. Later all.

Hi. I ordered two hours ago the new DT album, called XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (spoiler protection).
CD Now puts it as a preorder, expected release date 26/oct. Nothing weird there.
The price was set as 12.99 (minus 0,50 [sale discount]). But when I put it on my cart, it went up to 14.99. when I completed the order, however, the price was set again at 12.99. Since I bought two, and used a $10 off coupon, my total is $22.79.
My order appears in my order history, BUT I haven't received yet the usual e-mail confirmation of my order. Anyone else noticed this?

Ok dont worry about this, ive noticed that in the last months, cd now has been slower and slower to send confirmation. Even more, the last order i made ( Katatonia's discouraged ones and Hooverphonic for those of you who care) i didnt even get an order confirmation, and received the discs about a week and a half later..

This is in regard to the FTP site I posted with the new DT MP3s. Apparently, and this was unknown to me, that FTP is only for members of the Symphony X mailing list. Again, I did not know this. I am not even on the Sym X mailing list. A friend of a friend gave me the URL. I went to the site and never had to enter any password, so this led me to believe it was for public use. If I'd known that the FTP site was exclusively for members of the Symphony X list, then I never would've posted it. Like I say, I'm not even subscribed to that list, so I had no way of knowing. So I apologize to all of those on SX list. I know it's not a big deal here, but apparently it is on the SX list. SO if anyone on the Jam is also on the SX list, please forward this. Thank you
Jim

I must be the ONLY person on the list who actually likes the album. To me, its up there with MC and PL. I am in the fanclub, and the album seems to be a fresh start for them. With Chris' departure, there is a new definite sound, and a new feel to the band. I think the album is a good step in the right direction. Its not meant to be a PL or Empire, its a new album. Does Risk from Megadeth sound like Rust in Peace. Same as Megadeth, QR is a new band, same as DT. The new Cd will not be any of the other albums. The build up for Q2k for me led up to the Friday b4 the release date because my store puts the new stuff out the day they get it. (SHHHH!!!) I got Risk and Sevendust Home early as well. Its amazes me that the die hrad QR fans love the album, and everyone here who picks apart the music hates it. Its not a technical album, its all about the groove, like King's X. Take "Right Side of Mind" for example. A classic Qr ender for an album, leaves you with questions, wondering about the lyrics. (Someone Else, Anybody Listening) QR lost their more profficient guitarist in Degarmo, Wilton is an agressor, and loves to jam. Give the CD about 5 listens, you will be hooked in.

The release says 'selected cites'......doing Christmas shopping for European Meat Products are we ?

OK so we'll see you in about 2001 - yeah I'm really excited about the new album now - I really give a big hairy shite that anyones bothered about the 26th October - why should we care you just say what you want. We might as well get the Andy Williams tribute bands booked righ now! - well I think it's bollocks!
First rogered by the Rush brothers collective in 1998 - and now this... what's going on are we now the official "Tossers of Europe" or something?
Hmmmm.....Now what was that about Ritchie Blackmore guesting on Metrolopis II...(sic)..using Rory Gallaghers last surviving plectrum....
Come on we're only asking 2 or 3 dates guys!! - or even just one tiny little ....30 minute set...
(sorry about the ranting guys, I wrote this within a few seconds of seeing the latest tour dates and I have calmed down now - I suppose they'll come around eventually, of course I will dutifully buy the CD when it comes out - and I won't mention ANYTHING about the new album - or anything like that. I promise to be a nice boy from now on..... please don't ex-communicate me)
