I've got the concept parody SFAN (Screams From A Ninny) complete,
but it still requires some editing. I'll post it when I'm done. In the
meantime here's something I whipped out real quick during lunch today.

    Enjoy.

    Something From Napster
(A Parody of Fates Warning's Something from Nothing)

Apologies to J. Matheos and co.

         Some discs burden me
         These costs are steep
         Last time I paid
         Last time not cheap

         I won't buy this disc
         I won't spend away
         I've paid my dues
         I will not pay

         Runs here so long
I've forgotten what I was even looking for
         File exchanges
It's all for free, selection ranges, ranges

I thought I'd never find it
Every name I tried was wrong
I never thought to spell it that way
I knew I'd never buy it
So what if I know it's wrong
I never cared, I just want more

         Downloading done
I see what I was searching for, for so long
         It's now being shared
It's everything for free and I'm not paying

I thought I'd never find it
Every name I tried was wrong
I never thought to spell it that way
I knew I'd never buy it
So what if I know it's wrong
I never cared, I just want more

         Take .... take from Napster
         Take .... taking everything
         Take .... take from Napster
Find it, steal it, burn to CD
So it's theft, songs galore, all I need
         Songs galore, songs galore

I thought I'd never find it
Every name I tried was wrong
I never thought to spell it that way
I knew I'd never buy it
So what if I know it's wrong
I never cared, I just want more

<< It looked like he used 2 guitars both EB/MM. Blue 6-string, red/maroon 7-string. I think he probably has two of each (at least) for different tunings. I wasn't in front so I didn't get a real good look. They sounded amazing! Did anyone get a peek at the tremolo? Was it a floating trem (new) or the pitch lowering only type that's standard for MM? >>

I know he has 2 EB 6's, at least, because for the Rudess/Petrucci show he had two onstage with him.

If it's a tremelo, it's floating. The only unfloating bridge would be a fixed bridge. (Tune-O-Matics, Fender Fixed Birdges-Tele's-).

I think what you meant was, do they have Floyd's or traditional trems? (Sorry if I'm wrong, I don't mean to sound like an asshole or anything....). I'd also like to know this.

If he played "Home" with an EB, then he's using more than one EB 6-string for the show. (Obviously, it's in Drop-D).

    Buckethead-

Glad I'm not the only Buckethead fan out there.....

Buckethead was in the studio with Axl a few months ago, however I'm most sure he didn't do anything to will go onto tape, and I highly doubt he'll be in the band. If anyone's been paying attention to the GnR camp lately, they'd also know Zakk Wylde was writing/recording with Axl as well. Now THAT would kick ass.

So, I experienced my second ever Dream Theater concert on Monday night. I've only seen them do Metropolis 2000. Spoilers aside everything you've read is true. They were in excellent form. Blew me away. After about 20 mins. a friend of mine got us up to the front row, 2 feet from the stage! WOW! Very cool. I still have a ringing in my right ear from being 2 feet from the speakers as well.(seeing Metallica tonight didn't help that either)

James fell on his ass(and just laid on his back for like 2 minutes still singing, didn't miss a beat) in the middle of one song that has the line "I'm lying here in bed." Found that kinda ironic.

Where can I find a setlist. They didn't play my favorite song, at least I don't remember hearing it.

The encore was a big shock, and everyone will be quite pleased. I can't wait for a boot.

James mentioned a new album for next fall. I can't wait!

    ****SPOILERS*****

    ****SPOILERS*****

To address a couple of recent questions, here are my observations from the Cincinnati show:

JP appeared to use 3 different guitars, all of them EB/MM. There was the blue 6 string that he's been using for awhile, a cool red 7 string, and a black/glittery 6 string tuned for 'Home'. No Ibanez guitars were seen at any time.

With regard to ACOS, the song was pretty much played as it appears on the CD, but with some added/changed little solo bits here and there. I won't go into any details, because there are a lot of couple cool little surprises thrown in....

    *** END SPOILERS ***

Anyway, the show was great. DT and Spock's Beard both kicked some major ass.

    Hi all,

The ringtone composer for most Nokia cell phones can be found at:

    http://members.tripod.com/~ringtones/

If anyone manages to make something cool please save the ringtone out to a text file in the RTTTL format and that way we can just mail the text file to people and then they can load it into the program again.

Another fine program to get for Nokia phones is Logomanager. You can download the trial version at www.logomanager.co.uk. With this program you can load in the RTTTL format ringtone and then send it to your phone via infrared.

So who can come up with some cool ringtones? :-)

Am I an old-timer? :) As soon as this damn credit card goes through (I'm trying to order the tickets now), I'll be ready to go to NYC. Kasper (the guy who's doing the video clips for the show) has expressed an interest in getting together with other MP.com forum members, and I'd really like to meet any jammers that I can. Now that I'm 21, location isn't an issue, either.

So in answer to your question, Pellaz, I'm a-gonna be there! :) If anybody wants to meet, I'd love to have a beer or two before the show!

I just bought A Perfect Circle yesterday and took it home. I was absolutely ASTOUNDED at how great this album is. If you like metal and you like Tool, then BUY THIS ALBUM!

I don't think anyone has mentioned this but Alec Guinness, the original Obi-Wan Kenobi has passed away.

A sad, sad day for all Star Wars fans.

Dammit. How much are plane tickets from Salt Lake City to New York City?

Bwahahaha. Could a country boy survive in NYC? :D

The Odds, however, dictate I wouldn't have a rat's ass chance in Hell of taking any time off to fly over (not to mention I couldn't afford to having blown all my PTO this summer). :( But my spontenaity response system is starting to tremor a bit. hehehe. -- KorgX3 buys a lottery ticket. :p
