No way man. There is definately a limit. I heard a million shining reviews

Greetings JAMmers I am usually late as hell buying alot of music I see recommended on this list, as a result I have only recently acquired Planet X's '99 self titled release. Now musically I like it very well, but I thought Derek Sherinian was involved with this band, but He is not listed in the album liner notes or the bands website. ( I just looked at the players section and briefly through the bio section) -- < www.planetxrocks.com > Have I made a mistake somehow? The sticker on the Platypus album has Derek listed as former Dream Theater/ Planet X. Anyone know where I went wrong? Oh well Just curious. I have been purchasing all the DT side projects and former member stuff like Chroma Key, and thought I was making a former member purchase with PX. BTW I have 2 LTE cds, 1 Mullmuzzler, 1 Platypus (Ice Cycles), 1 Transatlantic, 1 Chroma Key ( Dead Air for Radios) and then this Planet X. am I missing anything, besides the first Platypus and the latest Chroma Key? Oh well enough for now See you in the funny papers PEACE!!! Billy.

You bought a CD of the *other* Planet X band, the Planet X that came before Derek's Planet X, who are trying to get him to drop the name Planet X because it's rightfully their's.

Man, must it be said again? Jorden Rudess is God!! I consider myself to be a hard person to impress anymore after everything I've seen and heard, but I must admit, I was almost brought to tears by Jordan's solo, well the first part of it anyway! anyhow, my question is this... Does Anybody have any clue to what it was that he played at the very beginning of his solo? you know, the Very fast fast Classical stuff he was playing?? Or is it just something that he wrote? And, does anyone know where I might be able to find a Boot of that anywhere?? MP3 would be fine. Man , I am still in awe over what he played... thanks anyone who might be able to help

(that subject is based only on the fact that the TV behind me is on, showing a rerun of cheers, and that song is playing in the episode)

(anyway) (darnit, i forgot what.....never mind)

My local paper does their 'celebrity bits' column on page A3 on a daily basis, and while Dream Theater has yet to grace that space, it did have a blurb on Rush the other day, saying that they're about to start work on their 17th album (must be counting studio only) in Toronto, their first since 1996's Test for Echo (i guess Different Stages, being only three CDs long, didn't make that particular cut).

The second paragraph (!) mentioned something which I had absolutely no idea about, and I'd like to ask for more detail, should anyone have any.....something about singer bassist Geddy Lee's 1st solo album being due on October 24th, 2000.....like i said, anyone with a clue is advised to share.

Hey, I think people missunderstood the joke. If its the same one I'm thinking of (the survivor sub comment), it was making fun of tv producers who at this point would put anything on tv for ratings. Also, different people have different sences of humor just like musical tastes. I thought the joke was funny, however, I do understand the tragedy of it. Things like this happen all the time in the military, some more publicized than others. But I personally am tired of the overabundance of political correctness that is sweeping the world. If this keeps up, humor may have its own section in public places like smoking sections (ducks while waiting for the "you are such a bad person" remarks).

    > Heh, actually, if I remember correctly (and it sounds to me like you're > talking about the movie Armageddon),

I don't know, I didn't see it. It's about asteroids or comets. In that movie BW arrives to the Russian space station & meets spaceman with ushanka (winter fur cap) on his head (which is funny as hell), who tries to repair the station with a spanner (which is even more funny).

    > not only was he unable to save the space station, but it exploded. :)

So you say he didn't save it? Damn. Korg was wrong. BW is not God. Maybe local tribal idol or something.

    > I agree with you that joking about the fallen sailors is in very poor taste, > but please don't take that as anything more than it is - bad taste.

I wasn't offended at all. Believe it or not but I understand people who consider it funny: hard childhood, no father, iron fists of their schoolmates, no chicks, "Pinnochio" as the only book in their life (now they read TV programmes & CD booklets) etc. I saw these clowns in my own school (it's the same all over the world). All I wanted to do is to show people who can think where some of these "jokes" may lead, where they actually lead.

    > I remember when the American space shuttle exploded shortly after takeoff and > all the astronauts on board where vaporized instantly, the very next day > people were making jokes! They are not, of course. We had many "jokes" about Chernobyl atomic disaster. BTW there were some local "jokes" about Challenger that appear 2 or 3 days after the explosion.

What I want to know is how the band didn't realize that Skadz had snuck up on stage. And I guess he's been taking lessons from Wacky, if he could play a whole set without anyone realizing that it wasn't really Petrucci.

I understand it well enough to realize that the US and the former USSR clearly still don't trust each other. And that's not because of you and I even remotely as much as because of Putin and Clinton, or Nixon and Brezhnev, or Kennedy and Kruschev, or FDR and Stalin.

I think a major issue here why they didn't want the United States involved is because they don't want the U.S. to find out what kind of Nuclear payload they have. Think about it. They must value their equipment and secrets more than human life. Sad.

It's one thing to joke about a subject and completely another to even pretend to understand someone else's reasoning for something. It's called security. Human life is a redundancy. The same people who preach compassion, kindness, and love are the same people who create the most cruel instruments of war to protect everything they claim to "love."

These are the same people who do everything to help one another but have no consideration for other lifeforms on the planet. I may be one of the rare few, but it seriously pisses the fuck out of me when I see people kill for sport, whether it's going on safari, squishing a spider, or aiming for that cat on the side of the road. The same people who laud "human" life have no respect for life in general. And if there's >any< nation on this planet who fits this shoe the best, it's us cocksucking Americans.

The Armenian guy sitting next to me in the meeting this morning looked fit to burst into a rage when the guy directing the meeting killed a spider that was minding its own business and everyone besides he, myself, and the Peruvian guy were hooting and hollering and cheering him on. Then they got all mad at him (the Armenian) when he pointed out their sadistic methods. And >we< paint Russians as heartless bastards? lol. Fuck you all. -- KorgX3 thinks humans are the most worthless lifeforms ont he planet.

Go see the new movie "Space Cowboys" and let me know if you still hold that opinion. That movie fits the Russian sub theme to a "T". They valued the nuclear missiles of that satellite more than human life itself.

You base your belief system around a movie. That explains alot. :) I saw a movie once where a kid got stuck in a tube because he was greedy for chocolate milk. I still drink chocolate milk.

The secrets of any military weapon: submarine, tank, missile, etc. are in the interests of the national security. The national security consists of protecting millions of people lives. 118 men's lives are not worth that cost. You think it's cold and unfair, and yes it is. Go around the nation and tell people we don't need government. Their answer will be, "Yes we do!" Go around the nation and tell people we don't need a military and they'll say "Of course we do! We have to protect what is ours!" Then as soon as an incident the Kursk occurs everyone suddenly changes their tune. Sorry, people, but you get what you pay for.

Secrets, bullshit, alibis and all. The US is just as guilty of the fabrications as everyone else: Gulf War Syndrome. Everyone tries to deny it exists, but deep down, secretly, we all know it's a reality and we're all too damn ashamed to admit it. Most of us, anyway. It's the ones who aren't that are punished. That's sad. -- KorgX3 thinks there is nothing scarier to people than a tarnished reputation.

Hey, folks. Once again I apologize for letting things go for so long, but the Ytsejam Tape Trade is gearing up to get ready for the 2000 trade.

I read all the e-mail that everyone has sent me, and everyone's ideas are great. I want to be able to share ideas back and forth. To that end, I've set up a mailing list at eGroups, called YtseTapeTrade. Just go to egroups.com and sign up for the group called YtseTapeTrade, and we can all trade ideas back and forth about how to get this thing to be the best it can. I look forward to hearing from everyone.

    New timeline:

Finalize categories and start parsing e-mail: September 12th. Deadline for e-mail: September 19th.

Oh, and the website is still at http://miracle.burningblue.net/tapetrade.

Errr, yeah now I can SEE the picture on my PC, but no sound at all. :( I could played it with Windows Media Player. I feel like a moron ("hey, that's an old one, tell us something new") but I dunno what it is. Everything else audio is working, playing mp3s, CDs...

any other software for playing these things?
