My guess is that its one of the concerts they did while recording for
Still Life. The metal blade website gives that impression..

In other Fates news, here's some info on the new album.. *bout friggin
    time*

    "jim matheos"
We start recording the new record February 17th. We will be
producing ourselves. The drums and bass will be recorded in L.A. by Phil
Magnotti who worked with us on No Exit and Perfect Symmetry. The guitars,
vocals and keys will be recorded in Connecticut with Terry Brown at the
helm. The mix will done in L.A. by us and Steve Tushar (apsog ii remix,
Chroma Key). The lineup will be the same as on apsog with the
possible exception of Kevin due to some scheduling difficulties that we're
trying to resolve. The album will contain six songs including one 16:00
minute long song, parts of which we played in Greece recently. Album title
and song titles to follow soon. If all goes according to schedule we
    anticipate a June release.

Oh, and pick up the Jim Matheos CD "Away with Words" its pretty cool..very
    mellow...

I have many a dream theater rarities that I have collected off of some diff napster servers. I can allow access to my FTP server for a few people (and believe me, it's worth the trouble of getting the info, there's a ton of goodiez there), but I do _not_ want the server info to be public on the list. So if anyone wants it, email me personally, and I'll give it up to the first five people who respond. I have this song from DT, entitled "cover my eyes", what is this song off of? It's a great song to hear. Talk to you all later. Piece.

I haven't received my xmas CD yet, but I signed up after Christmas. They told me I'd get it in March, but the year wasn't specified.

It appears there's a lot more DC area "jammers" than I thought. I've never met any of them, though. So, none of yall will probably recognize me. But, I'll be there nonetheless...rather early because I want a good spot...and if it's cold I don't want to stand outside for too long...it was quite windy for the Primus show. I love the 9:30 club...I've also seen Godhead and Orgy there...I wish I could've seen Meshuggah... Chris.

Though it's a very faithful cover, DT just cuts out a couple verses and several choruses for time's sake - it's very repetitive, though definitely a great song. The original is actually 5:40.

I swore to myself that when I got back on this list, I wouldn't get caught up in this crap. I told myself I wouldn't post, I just wanted to find someone who wanted the extra CT ticket I had. Oh well, I can't help it. That "Grow Up" comment is great. Here we have someone telling the people who find joking about death offensive that they are the ones who need to grow up. Hmmmm..... I wonder if the 15 year olds are still in charge on this list. It's been a long time.

    um... brag mode on.

I can FINALLY do it in tempo. And with an arched brow you astutely ask: Do WHAT in tempo!? Please remove from your cd rack the compact disc entitled "Dream Theater: Scenes From A Memory", take the disc out of its plastic box and place it in your cd player. Skip to track #6 (Beyond This Life), and start listening at about 9:40 into the track.

Hey.. what the hell.. I'm a bastard. When I saw he died the first thing I did was check the comics section of the paper. When I saw that Peanuts was still in the newspaper I said, "Damn it, have they no respect? Stop running the damn thing!" I mean, that comic has run for so many years and took up so much space in my damn paper.. Good ridance!! Last I knew there was never a big outcry for Dead Man's Rights <---good point Korg. What are people going to do? March up and down the streets waving signs that say, RIP RIP RIP!! Hold massive marches on the capital.. "Rights for the dead, Rights for the dead!" Is it PC? Maybe, maybe not. Overly sensitive about the death of somebody he doesn't even know? Absolutely. I think that if you got too sensitive over the comments made about a dead guy to whom you have no emotional connection, you need to re-examine why you had those feelings in the first place.

There's nothing wrong with making jokes about the death of Charles Schulz. Hell, maybe Korg is just masking his pain by cracking jokes - it's a natural defense mechanism.

Actually, you guys sticking up for him is a riot. Really. You guys never knew the man. You knew his comic strip. Yet you still defend him in his death. Are you defending him or his comic strip? Did I breach the unwritten law of "Thou shalt wait seven days before you make fun of another's death?"

Before you write back bitching at me you should ask yourself a question. "Am I mourning the loss of the man or am I mourning the loss of the service he provided?" Answer the question honestly and I think alot of you will be surprised at how selfish the answer sounds.

You know, I see people struggle through their lives every day. I know people who've sincerely championed their careers for years and then retire or die without a word. All that remains in their life is a thankless obituary and the candle burns out. So when famous people die and the world gets all weepy I have little sympathy for the "mourners." For most of you, within a couple of days, Charles Shulz will be no more than a fading memory. Pardon me if I interrupted your cripplingly grievous period with my sarcasm.

Oh hell, I know the attitude your talking about, he did an interview on tv, not the VH1 show, and I thought it was pretty funny too. The cd is alright after 3rd listen.. Damn funny how he takes the old winger songs and does them *cough*adult*cough* style.
