i just went yesterday through my old cds and found TNT=B4s Intuition. Does
anybody remember this norweigan band with Tony Harnell on vocs and amazing
Ronni LeTekro on guitar=3F I listened the cd through and this Ronni-guy has=

amazing "machine-gun" technique. And Tony has crystal-clear voice, but musi=

I stand to be corrected, but I think Saga had a story which they
split over their first four albums, with a couple of chapters of the
story on each album. Can't think of any more right now, but there
must be. (I assume you're not counting songs like Fates Warning's
The Ivory Gate Of Dreams or Shadow Gallery's "Ghostship" where each
part of the song is indexed as a separate track on the CD).

I don't agree with that one.. Perhaps because metropolis 1 was the first song I ever heard from them way back in 93.. I was absolutely in awe. IMO take the time, albeit a good song, can't hold a flame to metropolis... =)

Sir you have been sadly misled. Santana is one of the most beautiful, intense and all round perfect guitarist. I am yet to see someone with the melodic brilliance of Santana (although maybe Pat Metheny comes close), or who gets such an awsome sound from his guitar. Of course its basically the blues with a latin influenced rhythm section, and because the blues is based on formulas in the end theres not much room for 'ingenuity'. As per usual people like you maybe only ever see his most commercial songs ie Smooth and Black Magic Woman which dont exactly show off his skills. I suggest you go listen to songs like Europa, Transendence, Samba Pa Ti to see what he is capable of in the melodic department. If you want ingenuity, maybe check out his awe inspiring album with John McLaughlin. JM's a hard guy to keep up with but Santana does a better job than anyone else Ive heard, even Jan Hammer. I'm happy that the grammys have finally given credit to some real talent, but I think its funny that they only notice it when Santana finally got some big name singers to participate (he is after all, only a guitarist).

Personally, I think DT's version sounds a lot bluesier than Zep's. I'd put Zep's in a trash can. :)

Seems like he's got the same opinion as many of us who have posted lately. Basically, SFAM was great but he'd rather see more variety in the show. He liked the medley (unlike many who have posted) but wished he could see the songs in their entirety. I agree - I've always thought a medley was for a washed-up, has-been band who wants to squeeze in a few of their greatest hits as an encore. Though DT obviously isn't washed-up, I think most of the stuff after SFAM (and there's not much) is pretty weak.
Also notice that he would have gone to the Baltimore show if there was any chance of seeing a different set. PORTNOY, YOU LISTENING? :) And it's not me who said it this time - WOOHOO! Hehe.

I used to love that band. The album before Intuition (damn, I forget the name) rocked. "10,000 Lovers in One" had one of the best "kick-you-in-the-balls" opening riff I probably have ever heard. Memories.... I gotta dust off that tape and crank that baby up. Maybe I'll do it this summer with the windows down and the sunroof open...and watch the heads turn.....

hmmmm...I dunno. Personally, I don't really hear it. Except for maybe that the main riff sounds slightly like the Head Like a Hole main riff, which I've never even thought of til now.

you know, I'm going to philly on friday, and to Towson (baltimore) on monday too, regardless of different set lists. i would have gone to the DC show too, but we have had a lot of concerts to go to in this past month, and we were all running short on cash. i'm just happy that they added so many shows to the mid-atlantic area this time around. and i heard someone else complaining about mike spitting so much too . . . i think it was from the FII tour. BTW, one show I caught last week at the Patriot Center in VA, was the last show on Beck's US tour. it was pretty unbelievable what the man does. his backup band is really good (including the keyboardist and the DJ, who was pulling off some pretty nifty tricks). i'm out. peace.

i just wanted to put up a quick post about the show last night...unfortunately, i would have to say that it was probably the worst or 2nd worst DT show that i've been to, but this had nothing whatsoever to do with the performance (which was amazing, as usual...)
the crowd last night was a bunch of idiots! i was up near the front (about 2-3 people back from the stage), and several unpleasant things occurred...
first, a few minutes after i got in the door and found a good spot, this jerk pushes his way into the crowd and takes up residence right in front of these 2 girls that were next to me (who were both about a head shorter than he was)...several people said something to the effect that that wasn't very nice of him, to which he just shrugged and said 'shit happens' and didn't give it a second thought...
second, during DT's performance, the crowd pushed forward a bunch of times, which squished all the people in the front worse than they were already getting squished...my arms were pinned to my sides for the majority of the show, as i struggled to keep what little space i had and tried not to have visions of slipping and getting trampled to death...
and last, but most certainly not least, there was this one girl that was just a complete nutcase...she was, from what i could tell, an abnormally rabid DT fan (the kind of person that, if one of the members of OFB walked up to her, pointed at someone and said 'kill', she would've leaped across the room, tackled the hapless victim, and ripped his/her throat out with her teeth...)
she had a very shrill singing voice, which she used to full effect by screeching the words out at the top of her lungs for the entire show (there were a few times that i could hear her better than i could hear james), and she had her fist in the air the whole time, and she was pumping it throughout each song (even the slow songs, it seemed)...now, normally this might not be too bad, except for 2 factors: 1) she really didn't seem to care if there was anyone around her that she might inadvertantly hit, and 2) i happened to be standing right behind the 'flailing arm of destruction'...i ended up keeping my face down for the first part of DT's set, because i didn't want a black eye and/or damage to my teeth...eventually, i stepped back a bit so she could slide in front of me so i wouldn't be directly behind 'the arm' anymore...little did i realize that i would then have to deal with her 6-foot, 225-pound male friend who was doing the same fist-pumping that she was...this girl was also very belligerent and almost got into a fight or two, because she really didn't care about anyone but herself, and she also didn't care who she pissed off...i don't think i've ever been that happy and relieved to see a DT show end!
well, hopefully philly and nyc will be a bit better than that CT mess...later, all!
