there's only one show on network TV where the characters can be seen wearing
Rush T-shirts, and The Spirit of Radio got played as the episode ended.

Hell, i'm not even a big fan of the show, cuz I've only seen part of two
episodes.....but you gotta give 'em credit for using Rush, right?
check it out, you might even like what you see.....mondays at 8, I'm told

(I'm doing this to satisfy a friend who is a fan of that show, which
apparently is about to be cancelled.....if NBC wants to pay me for this
plug, they are more than welcome to, but that is unfortunately not the case
      :)

There's a Santana album from 73 entitled "Love Devotion Surrender"s with
Mahavishnu John McGlaughlin on it. McGlaughlin and Carlos together are
truly special. This is definitely the most spiritual side (think sitar,
think mantras, think chanting ;) of McGlaughlin's work as opposed to his
later trio stuff which was more heavy jazz fusion oriented. They do a
nice cover a Coltrane tune on it, though.

I has lucky enough to catch Yes on their last tour and I have bought tickets
to see them this tour. I have to say I have never seen as tight a band live
at all. They played for a whole 3 1/2 hours..amazing. the audience was a
load of older guys who were into Yes in the 70's. I went with a friend we
are both 23 and we were the youngest there by a long way. I would recommend
any one on the Jam to go and see them. It is worth $50 or £30 or whatever,
    with out a doubt.

As for DT opening for them.. I can't see it. The vast vast majority of
Yes' audience will not go for it I am pretty shure of that. I played some
older guys 50 some DT and they were luke warm but they LOVEd Spock Beard.
Yes and DT together I would love it. Unfortunately there is not a great
cross over in the fan bases. Most DT fans like Yes I am not shure if it
    works the other way around.

Just to set thing straight on the AJFA production/lack of Bass
I'll refer back to an article with da Boyz in the Dec. '91 isuue of Guitar
for the Practising Musician. I believe it was Hetfield that took part of
the credit for the way Justice sounded. His explanation was that they
wanted the album to sound good regardless of whether or not it is played
on a $30 stereo or a $3000 system, they simply got a little carried away
in the process. The bass actually was played to double the guitar parts
almost exactly. On top of that Hetfield and Hammett used to scoop the mids
out of the EQ on their preamps in order to get that chunky sound; they
boosted the hi's and low's way up. On AJFA and to a lesser degree on the
previous albums this really swallowed up the bass. Bob rock helped change
this by giving the guitars more midrange without sacrificing the chunk,
and Newsted played basslines that didn't mirror the guitar, so the
bass actually stood out in the mix for once.

It is indeed, my freind. I stumbled upon it at media play last week, less than an hour after I learned of it's existance =^). I've only heard snippets of the first Sitar Concerto, but I must say this one is MUCH more interesting....

    >p.s. I really hope Jerry Goodman sits in for part of DT's >set. Imagine DT meets Mahavishnu! Yikes!!! Is the guy alive still? :) Where the hell is he? That man rules.

He is indeed, my freind =^). I believe he's replacing Allan Sloan on the Met 2000 tour. He did that on the last Dregs tour, if I'm not mistaken. He also recently recorded an album with Steve Smith, Otiel Burbridge, and Howard Levy, called "the stranger's hand". He's still just as insane as he was with Mahavishnu =^).

On the matter of ticket prices, I wholeheartedly agree with Partha. I can't see spending more than $35 for concert tickets, unless it's a once-in-a-lifetime thing (I shelled out $45 for Ravi Shankar tix a few months ago, and even then I was kinda pissed....) I'm kinda hoping that Yes and DT DON'T tour together now, because I'm not gonna pay big bucks to go see 'em, and I REALLY don't wanna miss 'em. -Banjoman

I has lucky enough to catch Yes on their last tour and I have bought tickets to see them this tour. =A0I have to say I have never seen as tight a band live at all. =A0They played for a whole 3 1/2 hours..amazing. =A0the audienc= e was a load of older guys who were into Yes in the 70's. =A0I went with a friend we are both 23 and we were the youngest there by a long way. =A0I would recommend any one on the Jam to go and see them. =A0It is worth $50 or =A330 or whatever, with out a doubt.

As for DT opening for them.. =A0I can't see it. =A0The vast vast majori= ty of Yes' audience will not go for it I am pretty shure of that. =A0I played=

some older guys 50 some DT and they were luke warm but they LOVEd Spock Beard. Yes and DT together I would love it. =A0Unfortunately there is not a great cross over in the fan bases. =A0Most DT fans like Yes I am not shure if=

it works the other way around.

I'm using a Philips CD-R burner, and it comes with software other than adaptec's easy cd creator. It's called ceQuadrat or something and it's just awful. My blank CDs are being ruined because this software cant cut it. can someone point me in the direction of a place where I can download Adaptecs easy cd creator? i tried adaptec.com. thanks

interesting note on wallofsound.com, Marty Friedman's replacement on Megadeth's Risk tour is Al Pitrelli (Savatage, ethyl mertz, whole buncha other stuff)....doesn't say anything about a permanent replacement

Try www.CNET.com for that download. They usually have most software avaliable for at least a demo...
