Well said! As time goes by all will see that sticking to genres definition is tricky, and it can 'cause problems. I have a cousin, jazz academy graduate, who had huge fusion band back in 80s, and he gets sick when I say something in that manner. I know, ... I already could feel the problems of trying to define someone's art into certain category, and I'm fully aware of it, but naturally when we speak to somebody we use these terms prog, pop, metal, rock. And few times happened I spoke with him, he reacted very sharp about NOT sticking to categories. lol, he asked me who I'm going to see live upcoming 19-th July at Budapest, I say Dream Theater, on which he goes "What the play?", and I replied few sentences also using the term "progressive rock". He almost ridiculed me "Woooaaah, progressive eh?" He later teased me couple of times, "Nah, CyberDuke won't do this-and-this, he has PROGRESSED now!" :) To hell with him. :)
Bah, anyway, conclusion: It DOES help in libraries and categorizing matters, but is definitely not a perfect way of shelving art.

Don't know how many of you have (or still do) read the X Men comics, but I just came back from the movie and I must say they did an EXCELLENT job in translating it over. Easily the best "comic to movie" since the first Batman. The guy who played Wolverine was a suprisingly good actor, but besides him and the two Shakespearians, the others were kinda flat (no matter, the scriptwriters were smart and gave everyone else fewer lines...I don't even recall Sabretooth speaking once). Oh yeah, Rogue and Jean Grey were pretty hot too :). Go see it!
