There is no bass line in TSM, and since Myung would prefer actually playing
SOMETHING as opposed to walking around doing aerobic excercises (A la La
Brie), he plays a dinky little backing track for axmaster Petrucci.

    <<
Because he plays guitar on the song, i cant remember if he also plays bass,
but on the live performances of the awake tour they had a guitar set up and
    he
     played it on TSM.

I disagree. I've only listened a few times through, but I think I'm going
to like YGN more than DAfR. Permanent Address and Subway awesome songs.
It's more laid-back and atmospheric than the first one. Also more
consistent, I think. Some of the stuff on DAfR is kind of sketchy. KevMo
does the coolest soundscapes. I love the astronaut and zen themes. I'm
very impressed with this disc. I just wish Kev's discs weren't so short.
I may have to take some tracks from This is a Recording and flesh it out a
    bit.

Just go to www.hevydevy.com and buy it (and all the other discs). I can't
imagine anyone who owns this disc who would want to give theirs up, and I
will seek and destroy* anyone who would burn a copy of it. As Gene Hoglan
says on the HevyDevy page, it's cost him a lot of money to not sell out, so
toss him a few bucks. You won't regret it.

    Oh really ?
Springsteen has more talent in the hairs in his left nostril than you'll
ever have, plus he a damned fine guitarist too boot.
He's one of the most talented songwriters and musicians around,
that just happen to be a totally different type of music.
You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about, because
Bruce dosen't play a million notes or play prog, he must be shit of
    course.

So where did you get my quote from ?
The back of a used toilet roll ?

So where did I say Bruce was way better than DT ?
So what if I did say that ? It's my opinion and I am entitled to it.
You are a very sad man indeed who trashes anyone who dosen't
    agree with you.

Get a brain and a clue before you post and more verbal diarrhoea.

Yeah, I think he plays both bass and guitar on that song. He plays the
guitar while JP is soloing, and the rest of the time he's on bass.

    At least that's my conception..

anybody watch the SNL reruns on comedy central? a few days ago they had
peter gabriel on - it was a 93-95 (i.e., not funny) episode, right when
he had paula cole as his backup singer and tony levin on bass. And sure
enought, there they both were - obviously neither of them known to
anyone in the crowd, but paula did get some nice applause after her
solo. And tony was playing his chapman stick, i think.

    So that was cool.

You know what else would be cool? If Def Leppard performed on SNL. You
know why? Cuz the drummer from Def Leppard's only got one arm... The
drummer from Def Leppard's only got one arm...The drummer from Def
    Leppard's only got one arm!

If I remember well there are like 4 notes in that song, which are
played on bass. They are all in that little interlude which we all like
to play beside a campfire, while everyone else wants to sing the
    beatles.

But of course, there is a lot more double guitar in there, than
bass, most distinctly & audibly during the choruses, and "under"
    the solo.

I also think that JM has a right to play guitar. :-)

But probably the real reason he played guitar on that vid is
because he wanted to become a rock icon and sex symbol. Cause
you no bass player (except Steele.........and Kip Winger) gets to
    be a sex symybol.

Well, why not have JM to play guitar, would be kinda silent when JP plays that
short solo, eh ? And you haven't been mistaken, JP sings (I think) almost
everytime backing vocals to TSM. Maybe it's b/c it's his song, dunno.

Not really "ouch." This may be the cheapest concert
for me in July-August. The Who was $89 plus TM
surcharge, Roger Waters was around $70, and Yes/Kansas
was around $50. At least Transatlantic was "only" $25.

And that other band was Queensryche, which I hope
doesn't become a dirty word here on the list because
    they screwed over DT.

    Take care,
    Adam Perkowsky

No, Tony was playing his body-less electric acoustic bass. The Stick
actually (unless I'm mistaken) is a 12-stringed (or 24?) instrument that
rests on a shoulder strap and is tapped.

But yes, I saw this performance and nearly shat myself when I saw Tony
there playing. I thought it was cool shit. The choreography they had,
though, was absolutely hilarious! If you saw this performance, you'd know
EXACTLY what I mean; it was awful!

    Message-ID: <Pine.BSF.4.10.10006211925220.12693-100000@oz.plymouth.edu>

I just bought a used Korg N1 synth to tour with this children's theater
I'm working with this summer (too bad it's not MINE, though; I'd love to
keep it). The problem I'm having is that it has no manual with it and
there are a lot of things I just don't get (the VFA settings and
envelopes, for example). I checked online at the Korg website, but I
can't seem to find (a) a manual online in Acrobat format (they have online
manuals for the Triton and Trinity and a few others, but not the N1) or
    (b) an email address for support on the Korg website. Is there anybody
out there who has this keyboard that might be willing to make me a copy of
it and mail it to me or who knows how I can get in contact with Korg about
    getting/buying a new manual?

the electric factory has it listed on their website, ticket prices there are
only $13.50, ticketbastard is something like $22.50.
    www.electricfactory.com - i would consider that official

I am looking for Dream Theater Fan club Christmas cd's. I have the 1999
christmas cd as well as a couple of other rare Dream Theater cd's. I
    can
make CD'rs of these cd's and trade them for CD'rs of Dream Theater
    christmas
cd's. I can also make copies and sell them to you. But I am really
    looking
for DT christmas cd's. I am a true fan and I just want the music.
    Thanks

The real asshole is he that does not want DT's music
to be heard. I say d/l all the Christmas CDs you can
get your hands on. This isn't album shit, this is
really unimportant. I can understand, maybe, getting
pissed about people trading CD-Rs of album stuff, but
that's not the case. Chill out.
