In response to someone's request to find a good place
to find some Nightwish, www.HMV.com has all three
albums at very good prices. They're a Canadian
company which is pretty large and EXTREMELY prompt. I
have just started using them but am very impressed by
    them so far!

Also - I just picked up the new King Crimson album:
    The ConstruKction of Light.

    Here's my review:

    HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!

They did Perfect Strangers, then once Bruce sang a few songs

Try Prokofiev. Jordan Rudess and myself love it. :-)
            3rd piano concerto maybe.

By the way, did Jordan change his name from Rudes to
Rudess? Check out his thank lists, - it is always Rudes people.

not true. friend of mine had his IP banned, and all he downloaded was live
woodstock tracks. now *that's* bullshit. if you can get it on an official
release, it should be fair game for trading. Not for sale, obviously,
since you have no right to the material, but trading.

Oy. I hope for your sake you get off of this first impression easily.

If you are looking for Dream Theater news strictly, just keep checking the
website. This is a little community of Dream Theater fans who discuss various
music related topics. Our common bond is Dream Theater, we aren't hear _just_
to discuss Dream Theater. I am sure all of us have talked out our impressions
of all the albums and no one wants to start the Kevin vs. Derek vs. Jordan
debate again. I use this list to discover new, exciting bands. There are
lapses in excitment in the list, sure. Stay on and see if you like it.

As to the NP thing, it is a neat little thing to put at the end of your file.
You need to get things in perspective. It isn't there to say: "GUESS WHAT?!
I'm listening to DC Cooper!" It is there so that you look and say "Hmm, maybe
I will check out DC Cooper".

..Unless you a prick, which very well may be. Unsubscribe please if that is
the case. Stupid people cause flame wars which are just empty jams. I like to
keep the illusion that only cool people listen to DT.

I was wondering about your opinion on Derek Sherinian's first Planet X
    CD
-- I really liked the stuff he did on ACOS, FII and OIAL, so do you
    think
I'd enjoy Planet X? Could someone send me their own review or describe

They were added later to the main theme, weren't they? I don't think he

Some of you more classically trained guys can correct me on this one if

The first Planet X is so far beyond brilliant it's not
even funny. Seriously, it's THAT good. Virgil

I read an interview on www.hardradio.com with John Bush (Anthrax) and
Piazza. Those two are great friends. Piazza is a metalhead, and Bush
told a story about how his Italian grandfather, the world's biggest
Dodgers fan, would have shit himself if he'd been alive to see his son
friends with the Dodgers' (at the time) catcher. As a lifelong Braves
fan, I don't like anything Dodger blue or Metropolitan, but Piazza is
    one cool fellow.

First off, I got the new King's X CD, its very cool.

Second off, I bought Super Transatlantic the day it came out. I think its
great hard rock, with a lot of emotion thrown in from Jason. SPACED OUT
SHUTTLECOCK!!! The CD rocks, esp the cover Can't Stand Losing You.
I really dig these guys almost as much as I dig Doubledrive. For those
who like good hard hitting rock and roll, you can't beat DD. Or those who
like breasts, you can't beat a set of DD's but anyway.....where the hell
    is KorgX3?

Third off its nice being a baseball player :)

MI2 kicks ass I saw it tonight. Great action flick.

I agreed with your whole post mate, apart from this bit. I have always
viewed FNM as very progressive, they have done some very "out there" tracks,
particularly on Angel Dust and King For A Day - shit - I need to dust some
of those CDs down and give them a spin...!

Well, for your main question, you have simply joined the 'jam at a bad time. We
are currently in a ytse-holding pattern, as virtually no DT related stuff is
happening. So, as per usual, we have fallen back on posting about whatever is
currently pissing the RIAA off (Napster), whether boots are legal/ethical (if
only Bahr were still here...), keeping an eye out for Brito plugging Opeth,
arguing about whether Derek was gay/not a good musician/a womaniser/addicted to
crack, and generally talking about anything but DT until a tour starts again or
an album is released, then it'll be back to "Did you hear that part of John's
solo on the new album? He was off a half tone!" To which Al will respond that he
was in fact playing correctly, you're just using inferior equipment from Sony to
listen to music, and if you'd simply be willing to invest a few tens of
thousands of dollars on a couple of monoblock tube amps, you'd hear it too. But
    I digress...

The point is, the 'jam will get more interesting and DT related. But while
there's little in the way of DT, we have to talk about something. If it gets too
sickening, go to http://www.dreamtheater.net, subscribe to UACM, and when you
get news that something cool is happening, resub to the 'jam.

As for who cares what's playing, it's a good way to say, "I like this band.
Do you think you might like it? Ask me about it!" Better to ask a 'jammer who
you see is listening to Kindness of Strangers what Spock's Beard album to get
first than go to CDnow or Amazon and see what their "critics" have to say about
it. The Ytsejam - a solution with real value.

If there are any Tesla fans out there, Jeff Keith and Tommy Skeoch are back
with a new band called Bar 7. The new CD, titled The World is a Freak, has
a street date of June 6th. Here is a link to their web sight.

They do have an mp3 file of one of the songs of the new CD.

I bought the CD directly from the record label and have had it for about a
week. It is vintage Telsa. It is definitely worth the money.

-it's developed into a community over the years, and communities tend to cover a multitude of topics. If it's DT and Good Music discussion you want, I would suggest starting a topic or just plain asking a question. I'm sure people would appreciate it.

Nightwish and Ayreon!! (unless you have them already of course).

Great discs, both (or rather: the three) of them. Although I was a little
disappointed when I heard the new Nightwish the first time, this one
only reveals its beauty after a couple of listens. (Oceanborn is still the
best of the three Nightwishes IMO).

Ayreon! Wow. After ITEC I was really anxious to hear Arjen's next
opuses. But then in march or so I heard of .... the cast... THE
CAST!! Incredible! Dickinson, Russel Allen, Fabio Lione, Morse (!), Damian
Wilson (again) (!!!), Timo, ah well... Turns out the discs are as good (or
maybe better) as you'd expect from a cast like that. Both of them. Go
    buy. NOW.

BTW: I think I can hear myself screaming on the live tracks of the Through
    Her Eyes single:-). Weird.
