"Says you" is right. It's just my own personal opinion of the song. It
doesn't mean it sux. I have every Rush CD and love them all. It isn't a
bag on Rush at all. This individual song just doesn't do it for me. Just a
    matter of personal opinion.

who could tell me this: what should I replace first, speakers or a head
    unit?

also, what's some decent speakers that will be a noticable improvement
over stock, keeping in mind that I don't care about booming bass? will i
have to rewire for tweeters and woofers anyway?

    somebody help me!

btw i have a honda civic del sol if that helps.

Some years back I replaced my Honda Accord factory speakers with Alpines
(back deck and doors) and it is great. Also added a pioneer amp mounted in
the trunk snug against the back. Portnoy and Myung sound great in my car
    :)
The only thing I would change now if my speakers go out is replace them with
    BOSE.

Head unit without a doubt. The stock head unit has verry little power which
causes distortion and sounding like shit when you turn up the volume -no
matter what speakers you have. My friends gf has a Del Sol and we couldn't
find a good spot to put additional speakers in the back so you may be
limited to replacing the doors speakers which are small and aren't near your
head or even facing towards the you. Unless you go to a custom installer
there is much to be done there. Any decent aftermarket speakers will be an
improvement over the stock gear. Pay attention to the speaker's depth, the
door wells are pretty shallow. The del sol is a tough install due to very
limited space, poor speaker placement, and lots of road/wind noise to
overcome (open top). From my experience, I wouldn't expect great sounding
results for that car - sorry.

mine still :( 99 civic Si coupe
which delsol do you have? 106hp or 160 dohc vtec?
Im probably also going to change the stock speakers, my friend did this
has the same car) and that alone was a vast improvement in quality/clarity
    of sound..

The reason they came out with LTE I and II so quickly is becaust they wrote
and recorded it entirely in the studio over a matter of essentially days.
And while they're both great albums, I would hope that DT puts a little more
time than that into a full release. I want new DT shit as much as anyone
else, but not if it's gonna sacrifice the quality.

    Yo,
    My .02 cents:

I also had heard that around January Labrie was also gonna record another
mullmuzzler album. I love the first one, and another one will be great as
long as they don't do another beezulbubba (sp? im too lazy to get up
    right now)

As far as tge album goes I REALLY can't wait. Im wondering what the band
will come up with as far as individual songs with Jordan. I am hoping
that evryone gets to write some lyrics. labrie does an awesome job, so
does myung,. jordan said he would like to write and maybe sing backups
(see DTIFC tinterview) and Myung's, Mike's and JohnP's vocals speak for
themselves. I think if they record January/february, the cd should be out
    maybe July or August.

As far as the SFAM thingie ONLY a VHS and DVD are planned at this point.
Mike posted in the forum that a cd was being worked on right now. I
would like that but i have like 15 live versions of SFAM, but 1 more
wouldn't hurt. I have a feeling that the label wouldn't realease anything
from set 2 because they just released a double live album for us greedy
    bastards 2 years ago.

We are truly lucky the label is letting DT do this:

    IAW
    Live EP (well europe only)
Live in tokyo ( a vid like that after 1 cd is cool)
    Awake
ACOS (which wasn't planned, great job to the fans for that one)
    FII
    live album
    live video
    SFAM
    live vhs live dvd

    ???????

So almost between every release there is something ( a video, some live
thingie, or something that wasn't even planned) for a major label, thast
    incredible.

IMHO, I think you should go with the head unit first. Even with stock
speakers, the improvement is remarkable. I'd say go with a Nakamichi CD-35z
(if you don't have a whole lot to spend) or the Nakamichi CD-45z (if you
have ~$400 to spend) - the Alpine 7863 is also a good way to go, and it has
    more amplifier power...

As far as speakers go - if you want to avoid the hassles and extra
amplification required for components, go with Eclipse 8263's (6.5" 2-way
coaxials). I've had these in my 88 CRX (same car as your Del Sol,
basically), powered by a Sony CD780 HU, with very good results. They're
some of the better true coaxials I've heard, and they're affordable. BTW -
stay away from BOSE (it BLOSE) - No highs? No lows? Must be BOSE! :)

Here's my future system (if anyone cares), to be put in either a Honda
    Prelude or Acura 3.2CL-S...

    Head unit - Nakamichi CD-45z
    Line Driver - AudioControl Three.1
    Amp 1 - PPI PC6600 (2x200W, 2x50W), powering:
Front stage - Focal Utopia 165W components (in custom kick-panels) (using
    2x200W)
Rear fill - Focal Polyglass 690HC (6x9 coaxials) (using 2x50W)
    Amp 2 - PPI PC2300 (1x300W), powering:
Sub - (1) JL Audio 10W3D2 (in a custom ported enclosure) (using 1x300W)
1.0 Farad Capacitor by Lightning Audio (Digital Monitor Top)
Wiring by Lightning Audio (Strike series)

That should be an excellent system with very flat frequency response... :)

    Hope this helps,

By the way, you can visit www.clubsi.com and go into the message forums,
theres an audio forum there, and there are a lot of knowledgeable people
there who will help you with stuff for your delsol. (and if you need
anything else in the performance dept you can check out any of the other
forums, because we welcome all type of H/A owners. (hell we even got some

Remember that sample Mike Portnoy likes to use as he's about to bust into
    a drum solo? Yeah, well...

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
    TUESDAY, 3 October 2000

SYSTEM OF A DOWN BUSTED FOR UTTERING THE COPYRIGHTED PHRASE, "Let's Get
    Ready To Rumble"

Yes, it's true. American Recordings group SYSTEM OF A DOWN ran into a bit
of trouble recently. In August, they received a threat of legal action by
attorneys representing Michael Buffer, he of WWF and David Letterman fame.
Apparently, at the July 4th Baltimore stop on the Summer Sanitarium tour,
System of a Down's guitarist, Daron Malakian, shouted to the crowd, "Let's
get ready to rumble!" as an innocent prelude to the show's encore, the
band's hit single, "Sugar." The dastardly deed was caught on tape by an MT=
    V
camera crew, was broadcast on the channel in late July, and seen by an
unknown source close to Buffer. Who turned System in.

According to Buffer's legal team, System of a Down -- or ANYONE, for that
matter -- is not allowed to publicly utter that copyrighted phrase without
prior consent from Buffer. Failing to adhere can result in the filing of a
claim against the perpetrator. Which is what Buffer instructed his
    attorneys to do. Whoa...

I=B9m very flattered," commented Malakian, "that Michael Buffer thinks I do
his 'Let=B9s Get Ready to Rumble' line so well that he has to stop me from
    saying it."

System of a Down is in solid company when it comes to having loose lips wit=
    h
"Let's Get Ready to Rumble." Iran-Contra scandal principal/radio talk show
host Oliver North and radio shock jock Don Imus have also had their hands
slapped for unauthorized public use of the registered phrase.

Is there a happy ending here? Indeed. The members of System of a Down hav=
    e
learned their lesson, and pass it along to all public figures. Not only
will the group never publicly utter "Let's get ready to rumble," but they'v=
    e
also sworn off "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn," "I'll be back," "Go
ahead, make my day," and "Yeah, baby!" just in case someone has claimed the
    legal rights to them.

I heard that Michael Buffer's brother (or something) is a lawyer
and he has some pretty trademark docs written up...which they actively
defend. Seems pretty funny that you can trademark a phrase that is being
performed by someone else... Well, I say that everyone walk around saying
that phrase, and if you get a chance say over public broadcasting
systems.... They can't sue everyone. hehe ;-)

    About the next DT release:

I got this directly from Mike - they are probably going to go into the
studio in Feruary. Right now, it is looking like Mike will be joining TA in
the studio in January and then go into the studio with DT almost immediately
after. Although I can't confirm it, I recall something about James working
on Mullmuzzler 2 around january 2001 as well.

Since DT is coming out with a DVD soon and I don't have a DVD player yet, can someone suggest what would be a good brand/model to pick up? Al? Anyone?

My price range is between $250 and $350 right now, but I don't have much knowledge about DVDs so that is really an initial guess. I would be hooking it up to an Onkyo receiver and would be using it with a ProScan 35" TV (probably using S-Video).

I am guessing that there are others who will soon be in the DVD market along with me, so it would probably be good to respond to the jam rather than just to me privately.

    Thanks,
    Bill

They are just so many. Check out http://www.cnet.com and read user opinions.
    That should get you started.

Hi! I just wanted to submit my opinion about the new Geddy Lee song. I think it's awesome!!! I certainly expected less for some reason, probably because of my dissapointment with Lifeson's solo project Victor. The song has sort of a Primusy feel to it, and it's just great!!! If the rest of the album is like this song, it's going to rule. Bye.
