Sadly mine is affected, as are all the PAL discs, apparently. It's
only actually noticable during ACOS, though... the main show is
    perfect.

Sync problems aside, this DVD is exactly what I needed to remind me
why Dream Theater are the greatest band in the entire fucking
    universe.

Oh, and I want to marry that Theresa chick. :-)

Carlos A. Alfaro missed the point:

    > Well i disagree, although im am thoroughly psyched about it, and im > going to buy it whenever its out, i am dissapointed that its not going > to be at least *up to par* with current DVD audio standards.

And the point is that audio selection is a tradeoff. They chose bonus material over fancy features. It's physics really, you can squeeze only as much stuff on it as there's space.Like it or not, deal with it. Personally I'd love to see this DVD to be in all the latest digital audio standards with different mixes, 20 different camera angles, soundboard audio of all our bootlegs and a hidden Jenna Jameson flick, but we get what we get and that's plenty generous of the band as I see it.

BTW: Is the disc one or two sided? Spoil me all you like :)

I agree with that, but what I'm saying is wait until you hear it before putting the sound down. Portnoy said it would NOT be 5.1 months ago and the sacrifice was in order to fit in more songs. For example:

<My other point is - why not a double DVD ;) Then we could have got all the concert on (not just a paltry two and a half hours!) and maybe some camera angle choices as well.>

Mike said Elektra gave him the smalled "dvd budget" availble. One sided, dual layered. They could have done a double sided disc, or so on.Im happy that this is even happeneing. THink about it How many bands do this:

Studio album IAW ===Live EP ===home video Studio ALbum Awake ===Special EP made possible by us ACOS Studio album FII ===Home video ===double live album Studio album SFAM ===Live DVD/Home video

It seems that after aevery studio album, we get something very special.

THe good news is its not gonna stop. Mike said that *if* sales go well on hte dvd, the label is considereing releaseing LIT and 5YIALY on 1 dvd with bonus stuff. So everyone BUY BUY BUY!

Plus dont forget about the bootleg thing he wants to do out of the DT store.

Or Metallica's Cunning Stunts! Wow, the 5.1 on that one ROCKS!

I am greatful of any DT material they make for the fans. But let's face it 5.1 is the standard and we have been moaning about it since they first mentioned that they were doing a show to record for a later DVD release.

Everyone has a problem with a certain DVD released, whether it is missing a certain feature or whatnot. Just because we bitch doesn't mean we are ungrateful, it means that we want the best DVD money can buy. I haven't been reading the other posts but hopefully there some secret bonus material that will make up for the sound.

Hey guys and gals: I have created a new and, I feel, interesting poll over at the Infinity Minus One yahoo group site. The topic is "Which of these bands do you think deserves to go farther than they already have." and there is a list of 10 bands that I have chosen to include. You can pick more than one due to the fact that one may feel that several of the bands named deserve more success than they already have. The catch is (and there always is one, isn't there ;) ), that you have to join the Infinity Minus One mailing list to vote. So you can call this listener research AND a membership drive all wrapped up into one neat little package. :) Let the voting commence!

Wow. I'm really digging the new Ice Age CD "Liberation". The singer sounds very much like Dennis DeYoung of STYX. Styx was my first favorite band growing up, and I'll always love them. Picture Dennis DeYoung fronting for a progressive metal band....that's what this sounds like! Very tasty stuff. Pick this CD up !

He did actually, they were called Styx, listen to some of those mid to late 70's albums from Styx they are quite progressive. The band seemed to be remembered for the ballads like 'Babe', not the great songs on the albums that were way better.

As for Liberation, it was very disappointing and not a patch on the greatness of the their first album.
