Hey Carlos, I was just teasing. After MP posted that 'refrain from posting the MP3' email a few days back, I was just acquiescing to his wishes, and forming a personal state of deniability and uncertainy. I guess it worked, lol.

< This was the West touring troupe, with only Johnny Middleton
reprahzentin' for Savatage, but the Savatage fans in the audience --
and they were legion, comprising perhaps a third of the crowd -- gave
him a warm welcome indeed. Some of the on-stage vocal talent was, if
anything, BETTER than that on the CDs. Great show. >
Hey Paul, great to see your still alive. Al Pitrelli is with the West group this year, he kicks ass. BTW Im 90% sure Im coming up to Atlanta for the Stuck Mojo New years eve show.

Hi all! There is a King Crimson concert coming to my area. Do you have any imput as to what the concert would be like? In other words is it worth $35-$40 for seeing this perfomance?
Also, I am looking for new music. I am interested in more instrumental pieces. Something more in the mood of liquid tension experiment. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Eli

I haven't seen them live ever, and I'm considering if I should spring for it this year. I've heard only good stuff about it (and mp3s :)) and I am a big 'Tage fan so I think it would work out. I have yet to look up dates for NYC though.
>ps is anyone still on the list besides Graham B. and >myself? :)
Hey, be fair. :) After basically lurking for almost seven years I finally start talking, so cut me some slack!
I did chat with Graham about My Dying Bride, too. *keeping fingers crossed she has the right Graham!*

Yes! See King Crimson! Not much more I can add to that. As far as an instrumental prog metal band in the vein of say LTE, I HIGHLY recommend a Canadian band called "Grey Matter". They are AMAZING! They sound alot like DT without any vocals. Imagine if after Images & Words that James left and Kevin stayed...you have what Grey Matter sounds like. This is their homepage:
http://www.multimania/greymatter
Check em out!!!!!! Anyone else heard them???

It is a bit pricey, but you should definitely go. KC is a prog legend and they don't disappoint live (unless you're expecting them to sound like they did in 1969, 1974, etc -- they change their sound completely every few years). Additionally, their opener on this tour is Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones with his solo band (a drummer and a Stick-player), who are worth seeing in their own right.

absolutely!!! DO NOT pass up the chance to see them. if you're a fan of prog, in pretty much any form, then you'll find something in KC's music that will hit you right between the eyes. i say this because there isn't a progressive act out there that hasn't in some way been influenced by King Crimson (or by a band that was). they are one of the most creative acts around too, as their sound can't seem to be confined to one particular progressive genre for more than a few years at a time, but regardless of the genre, they are at the top of it's form, rest assured. also, you mentioned that you were a fan of instrumental music in the vein of LTE. well, i don't know how close a comparison i would draw between the two (depends on KC's style this year), but i can say that no band that i've ever seen live is so in sync with each other & the musical atmosphere when it comes to improv than these guys. anyhow, enough rambling on. elisa, go & see these guys. satisfaction guaranteed!!!
