    LOL

I never thought of that one.... :)

I always thought floyd's The Wall was heavily disco-themed. If you
listen to Another Brick In The Wall, the baseline is totally disco. And
the line "Hey! Teacher! Leave those kids alone". I always see john
travolta going into that pointing pose, right on the "Hey" and again on
"Teacher". and right after that line there's those three chords - "bowm,
    bowm, bowmbidabowm".

Listen up buddy, I got all those 30 songs in the last 3 days from now.

If you paid more attention you would notice that it was just 3 jams
earlier that that first guy mentioned Freak Kitchen on the Ytsejam.
AFTER that mentioning I checked one URL and read that Vai comment, which
made me go with Napster and check out the band. I got the mp3s in the
last 2 days. Got that? It means yesterday and before yesterday!
PHYSICALLY I have NO WAY of buying any Freak Kitchen CD even if I have 2
    more days to live.

But why do I even try to justify myself?

    > I don't know the whole situation, and I'm not attacking you
    > personally, but when people abuse mp3's like that, I'm
    > almost inclined to side with Mr. Ulrich in the mp3 debate.

You are not someone who can judge wether it's abuse or not. You don't
    even know me.

MANY people said they use Napster to check out some cool new music and
then probably buy it. I belong in the same category. I don't really care
if someone thinks even this is bad. That's their problem.

I am perfectly calm with what I do, and I claim to use Napster as nuts
    AND buy CDs as nuts.

Rasputin's on Bascom Avenue in Campbell is better. They have not only a
"Prog" section, but a "prog metal" section with mini-reviews of about 30%

G'day to all Freak Kitchen fans ... So glad that finally this great band is mentioned in a reverent tone. FK is truly one of Sweden's greatest contribution to the music world in the 90's ... (Which comes as no surprise at all, since they also have Pain Of Salvation ..) All of their albums are worth collecting. Please check out also Mattias Eklundh's solo CD, Freak Guitar. Think Ron Thal. Then double, no, triple the craziness. You're almost there. Where else can you hear Detroit Rock City played in a jazzy nylon-acoustic arrangement ? :) BTW, we in Indonesia are very lucky because FK's albums are domestically released.

Sigit funny, I just planned to have an FK special on my metal radio show !

Just to add my comments about fates. Disconnected is one of my least favorite fates cds, although it's not bad. But I think it pales in comparison with APSOG, Parallels, Perfect Symmetry, etc. Disconnected I think is the only prog album I've heard that does not include any kind of solo in the music. I don't need to have solos flying everywhere, but a tasteful solo like on some sections of APSOG would have been a big plus. Also, Disconnected is very short and the last song is as boring as they come. And, in relation to old fates (Arch era), I really don't consider them to sound like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest (I'm actually talking about the albums The Spectre Within and Awaken the Guardian, since I've never heard Night on Brocken). Old fates is more complex than these other two bands (BTW, I LOVE Maiden). ATG is actually one of my favorite fates albums. Spectacular vocals and music. Very different from present fates, but still awesome. Alright, that's it.

You might wanna rethink spewing your bullshit. Stereotyping an entire board because they disagree with your OPINION is both immature and closeminded. As a member of both the Jam and Perpetual Motion I could also offer an opinion as to the closemindedness of the members of these prog music resources.

But I shant. Alas, you have proven beyond a doubt that the Ytsejam houses at least one very closeminded and rude son of a bitch. I see no need to point any more fingers.

Hmmm... I would like to think that most people here aren't juvenile enough to stoop to the assinine mentality of "Oooh... AJ's on this album! I must get it and it's going to be good as long as it has pictures of him in it!!!"

I think the fact that ChromaKey is Kevmo does indeed lead people into listening to it as well it should. Of course, I've read enough posts from people who thought CK was a pile of shit to disprove your theory. :) Personally, KevMo's stuff hit big on me even pre-CK. I got his MMtBH demos and thought they were the shit back then. hehehe. I've still yet to pick up You Go Now, though. I've heard that one's a bit iffy so I've been putting it off. -- KorgX3 doesn't think Kevin Moore is God, yet he may have the potential to become so.

Wait a second here. You're bitching about something that you get as a BONUS? There's nothing that says that you're gonna get a Christmas CD at all, and yet you're here complaining because it hasn't arrived on time. This is exactly what I hate about certain types of DT fans. There is NOTHING that says that the band or the fan club has to do this for the fans and I, for one, am just glad that we GET this kind of thing, let alone WHEN.

I'll spew as much bullshit as I want, but you know, the only bullshit that hurts is the truth, and I've hit a home run on this one it seems. Go back to your cave and bang your head. Exactly, But do get You go now..i used to think it wasnt up to par with with DAFR, but it is one of those albums that keeps growing on you, until it "clicks"... Yes, the music is a bit more experimental, there is no real drums or bass (no mark zonder or vera) so it may be a little hard to get into (if youre not into electronic music at all) it has the usual wierd beat/sample/wierdo talking type songs too :) For me, Kevin moore is now an artist...a single artist and i love his music... i DO wish he wouldve stayed with DT, but if that wouldve meant that we wouldve never had DAFR and YGN to listen to, then im glad he left when he did ..

Me too :) I urge everyone who bought disconnected to listen to it again and again until it clicks :) believe me, it will... When i first got it i was like hey nice cd..ho-hum..la la .. then i started listening to it every day at work (mainly because it was heavy enough to keep me upbeat, and "mellow" enough to listen to it at any audible level at work) and boy do i love this cd... specially something from nothing and still remains wow!

Alexis: shutup youre a wank lover :)

brian, thanks for the info. i appreciate it. there *does* seem to be a lot of hype around symph x but i have a real urge to hear something that everyone is describing. plus, i believe micheal romeo is in the band, no? i thought his work on the working man cd was the shit (as was billy sheehans and james murphys). out, jon

Go fuck yourself asswipe and keep jerking off to those Wille Nelson albums that you adore so much.

Listen to some real music like Pain Of Salvation.

    Hi!

    >BTW, Bernd, what's the status of the new album, anyway? Good to see you're >still around, too, bro. :) Well, we have just recorded a demo for the record companies. The demo contains the first 8 songs. We have planned to have 12 songs on the CD this time. 12 songs and a lot of musical and spoken parts inbetween because, as you might know, it's gonna be a concept album... The story has taken a few steps forward too and we have planned to be done with the story board in about 7 - 8 weeks. We will have a lot of sound effects and spoken parts on the CD. We try to make it as movie-like as possible.

    >how 'bout some samples???? You will get some samples on our homepage soon. I have recorded 5 clips from the demo and I will put them there in the next few days. I will post a message here when they are up.

For anyone who would like to get more and steady information, I can only tell you to go on our homepage and sign up for the Superior newsletter I send out every few months. There is a lot of information about the band status in the newsletter and I plan to send it out more often in the future.

    Greetings

    Bernd
