Paul, I think we need to arrange a mass wedding where you can marry all the members of Ozric Tentacles, and maybe Godhead :P That having been said, can I stay at your house if these bands never hit the east coast? How bout you, Phil? Never heard Nevermore but I'm definitely into Opeth and CoB and I think I'd be willing to go across country to see them.

ChromaKey: Mark Zonder kicks ass, plain and simple. If you like nothing else, his cymbal work and the beautiful piano introduction to "On the Page" make the first disc, at least, worth buying. I have yet to hear the second.

Wow just when you thought Korgx3 was multitalented enough...

I was talking to my GF the other day and was telling her about some of my
musical endeavors and happened to mention "Chuck from Burley."

Her: Chuck? I bet I know him.
    Me: Whatever.
Her: Yea does he have long hair and wears a hat all the time?
    Me: uh yeaaa...
Her: And he's kinda big and wears Iron Maiden shirts?
    Me: Bah! Lucky guesses all!
Her: And he's into drafting and stuff?
Me: Ack! Maybe you do know him. How's that?
Her: Oh we dated a couple times a while back.
    Me: <sob>

Oy vey. What are the odds?

So napster is soon to be no more. I'd just like to know why musicians think
they are somehow better than authors. I don't hear any writers whining
about their books being put into libraries.

In all fairness, I think a lot of people signed up only for that "bonus". I'm not sure what the details are, but isn't it supposed to be included in the price? If they don't intend to release it at christmas time, I don't think it's a big deal, but stop calling it a christmas CD. it's screwin' with people's expectations.

I think the fact that ChromaKey is Kevmo does indeed lead people into listening to it as well it should. Of course, I've read enough posts from people who thought CK was a pile of shit to disprove your theory. :) Personally, KevMo's stuff hit big on me even pre-CK. I got his MMtBH demos and thought they were the shit back then. hehehe. I've still yet to pick up You Go Now, though. I've heard that one's a bit iffy so I've been putting it off.

WOW i cant belive you herd this is an iffy album! this is top noch not a bad track!!if you like KevMO then you have nothing to worry about!!!!!!! wow

I thought Joey Vera played bass on DAFR... or did he simply play lines that Kev wrote? BTW, for anyone expressing doubts about You Go Now... I've heard bits and pieces of the album, and I like it... it's a lot more of the ambient stuff from DAFR (Camera 4, Hell Mary, etc), which is bad in the sense that Kevin is, imo, at his best in lyrical songwriting mode, but it's definitely not terrible. At least give a listen to "Another Permanent Address", that song rocks.

I have been listening, over the last couple of weeks, to the new Nevermore album, Dead Heart In A Dead World.

It's one of the best metal albums I've heard for a *long* time. If you can get used to Warrel Dane's rather unique vocal style, that is.

There are a couple of really incredible songs on this album. Please buy it.

I'm pretty sure Kev didn't play any bass on that album. Or any real bass, anyway. It was Joey Vera of Fates Warning who was the bassist on Dead Air for Radios. Joey Vera's and Mark Zonder's playing on the album was one of the things I loved (and still love) on it. =)

Libaries pay for their copies, and do not make them available to anyone with an internet connection.

But anyway, there has certainly been 'whining' about online distribution. ISTR some case a while back where some entity acquired rights for news stories (I think it even was for some internal library use) and then subsequently tried to sell access to that database over the internet.

There's also Stephen King's very recent experience.

Oh and by the way, it seems Napster Inc. lost the other day, didn't it? Breaks my heart. ;)

The are couple of very good metal shops to spend your cash, in Sydney and Melbourne. If you do come to Sydney I'd glady show you around and have a beer or 2 with you.
