I am sure it wasn't totally his decision... I bet the label set a
budget for the whole project and it just wasn't enough $$$ to get the extra
mix done. You can pretty much get what you want if you wave enough bills at
the right people. ;)

I figure they'll sweeten it up with an exclusive fanclub t-shirt or some
other DT swag, like they do in most other fan clubs. There's nearly always
"something" aside from the standard fanzines. Of course, I think it would
be wise of the fanclub(s) to publicize exactly what this is before
everybody's subscriptions start running out.
Personally, I like this year's fan club CD. It's exactly what it says it
is: live outtakes, and many of them are pretty funny. Sure, it's not the
sort of thing you can listen to repeatedly, but it is exclusive stuff you
can't find anywhere else (legitimately). We can't expect them to release
another b-sides album, 'cause there aren't any more. Well, aside from the
"Metropolis 2" demo with Derek...

1. I love DT's music.
2. If they sell CD's, DVD's, etc., they make money, the label makes money
AND this allows OFB to make -MORE- NEW music.
I am very much looking forward to buying the new live CD and REALLY excited
about a new CD with more new DT music. I already have the DVD which I think
is awesome and I will buy everything DT sells until such time as no longer
get enjoyment from the new music they put out.
I must have ALL of DT's CDs! (That was awesome! I agree 100%!)
My own take is this: I have not seen any show where SfaM was performed in
its entirety. I love the DVD. I don't own a player though, am watching at my
room mate. I will by the 3CD set. I also bought all the other stuff. Heck I
even bought the video while I was waiting for the DVD. The fact that they're
releasing this new set just shows me that they are obviously marketable and
thus economics will not be a reason for splitting. Am I listening everyday
to OiaLt, or LatM? No, and I am not listening to DT everyday. Who has the
time to listen to a 3CD set in its entirety more than once a month anyway. I
guess I just love the opportunity to tune in to a song that's special to me
and see how it has progressed live over the years.
But I love them just the same. I am not spoiled, I sweat for their music
myself.
cheers,
sab

I don't follow. He doesn't need to sing louder to compete with the other instruments, he'd surely be singing at an identical volume if there were NO stage volume?? So I don't understand?

If you'd go to MP.com FAQ you'll see that MP states there that they had
enough room in the DVD for 5.1, but Kevin Shirley chose to do a Stereo mix.
Why did he do that? There could be several reasons. The fact is that that is
the reason...
As for the 3cds release:
I say, be happy!!! You're getting just more DT cds. If I were you, I
wouldn't complain about it.
As for the 3cds and DVD box, I think it's ludicrous because a big portion of
the people this release is aimed towards are people who don't have a DVD
player, hence will have to settle for a CD recording...
PS: way to go, Georgie!!!!

Well, as good as The Perfect Element I is.... I definitely think it's the
weakest of the three albums. Entropia (the debut album) is definitely much
more chaotic, heavier, and also less linear than TPE. They even incorporate
(small) bits of funk and jazz, usually right in the middle of the heaviest
songs! Also (IMO) Entropia is one of the most deeply emotional discs of all
time. One Hour By the Concrete Lake could probably be best described as
being the middle ground between Entropia and TPE1.
I heartily recommend both Entropia, and One Hour....

Speaking of QR, did anyone in Seattle see Geoff Tate's solo show last

I would've been there, but I was sipping margaritas in Puerto Vallarta. :)
Anyone know if he is doing a solo CD or if QR is dead?

Over 12 MILLION of the VERY BEST e-mail addresses available!!
The "Millions" Volume-16 Address List CD, is the ABSOLUTE BEST
e-mail address list available anywhere today.
We've even outdone ourselves with this volume.
The "Millions" Volume-16 E-Mail Address List CD is comprised of
over 12 MILLION PREMIUM & SUPER clean email addresses - you can
start mailing as soon as you receive the CD! Each file contains
up to 20,000 email addresses. All addresses sorted by Internet
domain (they cannot be sorted by any other criteria).
NO "duplicate" addresses. ALL "dupes" filtered out.
HERE'S HOW WE GET THE CLEANEST E-MAIL
ADDRESSES AVAILABLE ANYWHERE!!
1. 200+ million lines of e-mail addresses were filtered and
duplicates eliminated.
2. A filter list of 400+ words/phrases reduced the lists even
more. No addresses with profane or inappropriate wording
survived.
3. A special filter was used to eliminate most of the "web
poisoned" e-mail addresses from our lists. Our EXCLUSIVE system
reduced these "bogus" addresses to zero.
4. Next we used an exclusive database of anti-internet
advertising extremists to clean our lists of every
hacker/terrorist we could identify.
5. In addition, we maintain an updated database of those who
have asked to be removed from our mailing lists.
THE MAJOR DIFFERENCE IS . . . .
. . our lists are thoroughly cleaned & free of all the "bogus"
addresses used by some to add inflated numbers to their lists. We
perform hundreds of hours in production and spend thousands on
the latest software in order to offer you the cleanest and PUREST
list of quality e-mail addresses to be found ANYWHERE!
Your "Millions" Volume-16 E-Mail Address List WILL RESULT IN:
Higher response ratios
Higher sales ratios
More receptive prospects; less flames & non-buyers

Hi all,
I've been gone for a while (a long while) but I'm back.
I live in the Chicagoland area and listen to a radio station out of Joliet (96.7). Every morning, during breaks from regular programming (news, traffic, weather, whenever they aren't playing other music or commercials) they play LTE's Acid Rain and 914, sometimes, depending on how long the break is, a good portion of the songs. It's interesting because I've heard a couple times when listeners have called in asking what the music they're playing is. One time they actually talked about LTE for a minute or so and how cool the morning guy and the listener thought it was. Anyway, I thought this was pretty cool.

I'd just about be plenty satisfied with ONE fanzine and one CD for the money. But drop the CD, and you are right, there will be a big drop-off in the fanclub subscriptions.
