hm AFAIK the only deep purple cover DT does is perfect strangers
and yeah they have played it with bruce dikinson on vocals (kick ass
rendition)
but i dont know about smoke on the water and done in the style of yes...

everything, but this is just too much... the SFAM stuff is on the DVD,
and all the other songs already exist in some live format already, so
I really don't see the point.
I'll probably buy it, and listen to it once or twice before filing it
away at the bottom of my CD pile.

Yeah, I think it's a bit of overkill, but, Elektra is showing huge support
for the band which can only be a good thing. I guess they finally realized
DT will always bring in some $ back to the table. Plus, those of us who were
at the Roseland show will have yet another (official) memento of the night

All I have to say here is Thank God. I wanted this show so bad it hurt me. 
The bootlegs weren't enough, I can't justify a DVD for myself since I can't 
see it and I wanted this so bad, since I was there and I thought it was the 
best DT concert I ever saw. And now, not only do we get the live CD, but 
apparently the whole show? I am in love. Thank you God. I bet MP had 
something to do with this, and if that is the case, Mike, you just made one 
blind guy unbelieveably happy. Thank you Dream Theater, thank you.

Since this place is dead as dead I thought I'd tell you some metal humor.  
There's this service I use called LimeWire...its kinda like Napster but I 
can search for old Megadeth and Slayer videos and Beavis & Butthead episodes 
on it.  So I enter "Angra" into the search engine and I get all these 
matches for GANG RAPE porn videos....get it?  ANGRA = gANG RApe??????   I 
thought it was funny.  :)

Hey Rob,
I saw your post on Ytsejam and was just curious as to how you were 
recording the DVD to CD. Were you using some of the DVD ripping to AVI to 
MPEG software that I've seen at www.divx-digest.com ?
That method sounded liek it would work, but looked a little cumbersome. I'd 
love to be able to rip some audio off of a few of the DVDs I own so I can 
listen to them in the car...

A friend of mine conected his dvd players digital out to the computer's sound
card and did his like that, but the volume came out VERY LOW, and then if he
turned up the gain a bit the highs would become distorted....were still playing
with that....
I just hope that the live cd has better mix/production than the DVD... the high
freq's lack definition... :(
