Ooops! My mistake. I do remember something about him commenting about losing control of a stick or something during the commentary section. Guess it was in the main performance. I can't check though because my copy was lost (stolen) when I moved.

I just picked up the double CD set, thankfully jewel case and no sucky shitty cardboard sleeve this time :) First impressions are good, great sound, Geoff sounds good. I dunno about the order of the songs, bunching them together from the same album is a good idea, but maybe they should have mixed up the crap from the last 2 piles of turds in with some of the classics. Maybe that way they might sound half decent finally...

Soundwise, it beats LSfNY easily. The production is full and mix very clear and crisp.

To tell the truth, the album highlights just how sad QR are these days for me, listening to those great old songs and remembering the horror of the last 2 albums. For which I'll never forgive them, but this goes a long way to helping me forget.

Now what would be cool, an official release of the 'Visions Of Another Time' bootleg (L'Amours NY 13-02-87), that is a killer set list and band performance.

I agree 100% Graham!! I thought the first cd especially kicked much arse! I can't really see myself playing the second cd very often. I think the Promosed Land/Empire stuff is still good but the later 2 albums should not have even made it onto the set! The sound and production is awesome, the packaging is great and I cant' wait to see the DVD!

BTW Graham... I recieved my copy of LSFNY today from Utopia records, thanks again for the tip!

    Paul.

I see the track listing is slighly different to the DVD, surely they didn't play the actual show in this order ? Well the turd songs actally are almost decent in the live setting, I did say almost :)

I went in today and they are ALL gone and they had a shit load of them last week. Maybe they took them all off the shelf when I told them that the album was pulled in the USA :) ?

BTW you should check out the new Evergrey 'In Search Of Truth', it's perhaps my album of the year, great progmetal.

That is a slightly altered account of the events that derek posted on his own website: http://www.dereksherinian.com/whatsnew.html In his site, he doesnt mention anything about the crowd chanting "osama"...

Yeah, I saw the doctored email where someone added the "osama" chants... but there was a guy from Brazil who said that on their own DT mailing list, people who were at the show reported hearing the chants.... So I don't know what the truth is, if they did chant that, it's a good thing the band didn't hear it...

I read this on the Derek Sherinian web site. Apparently, Derek was playing with Yngwie Malmsteen in Brazil when Yngwie was booed for playing the star spangled banner! READ THE REST!! You can view the article at http://www.dereksherinian.com/whatsnew.html

    03-01 Inacceptable ...

First of all, I would like to preface this letter by saying that I am not a fan of one using their musical status to promote religious or political beliefs. I am also not one to post on message boards, but something happened to me on stage last night that I feel compelled to write this letter.

I am currently the only American in Yngwie Malmsteen's touring band.

What happened at last night's gig in Porte Allegre, Brazil was shocking.

Midway through the set, Yngwie finished his guitar solo spot with the "Star Spangled Banner." The crowd of about 1500 people started immediately booing very loudly, and throwing shit on stage.

To see the Anti-American rallies on CNN is bad enough, but to be in the middle of one is scary beyond words.

So after Yngwie's solo we had about 5 more songs to play. All of my spirit was gone. I finished the set disgusted, and without looking at the crowd for the rest of the show.

After the final song, the band went to the dressing room. I told Yngwie, " I refuse to go out for the encore under any circumstances, FUCK THESE PEOPLE."

Yngwie went back on stage by himself and played the "Star Spangled Banner " again to a choir of loud boos. He then said on the microphone, "God Bless America, and FUCK YOU ALL" and walked off stage.

The crowd went into a riot and started throwing shit on stage. We immediately were rushed back to our hotel. I have no idea of the status of our gear.

I want to thank Yngwie for taking my back, and for standing up for the USA.

To the people in Porte Allegre, you should be ashamed of yourselves. I don't give a fuck if I ever play your peasant infested third world city again.

    God bless America, Derek Sherinian
