<apologies for the two timing, not sure why that
happened.....but anyway, QR LIVECRIME? Am i missing
something here? is that being re-issued or something? >

Yeah, it was released the same day as Live evolution. Supposedly it has been completely rerecorded off the masters, with thicker and better sound, and has 2 bonus tracks (Roads to Madness and Lady Wore black.) the DVD of that comes out in November. LIve evol DVD comes out in august.

Hello all, I have been out of time for a while. I bought my copy a couple of months ago as a preorder from Amazon. I just got home from school the other day and there it was waiting for me. When I opened it, I found in it on CD and two Invoices One is mine, but the other one is not... I would really like to find the guy to let him know that Amazon screwed him over. Here is his info, I hope he is out there somewhere on the Jam: Edward A Keefe II Chambersburge PA My next step is to call Amazon to let them know what I know. Have a good one everyone. Joe

and what a wonderful 2.5 hour set that was. i was at the 1st show of the 2nd american leg, in philly. anyone else??? not only was it an incredible show, but it was unique in the sense that we had absolutely NO clue whatsoever about what the setlist was going to be. and what did we wind up getting?? the full & complete A Change Of Seasons, then a hard-on. what a show. i don't give a shit if they are up there playing nursery songs, ala "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" & "Mary Had a Little Lamb" put to progressive arrangements. i'll be there either way, with bells on.

    peace, eric

You've got the 3rd of their 4 "best" albums; the other three goodies are "If I Could Do It All Over Again, I'd Do It All Over You", "In the Land of Grey and Pink", and "For Girls Who Grow Plump in the Night." Most (all?) of the Caravan catalog got the remastering treatment this year, so the albums are reasonably easy to find.

I've got the first two, as well as a 2-disc 'best of' from a few years back. So, I'd say if you like WL you'll like the other three. You might like "Caravan and the New Symphonia" too, if you like the rock-band-playing-versions-of-their-tunes-with-an-orchestra gig.

In a similar vein (the so-called "Canterbury" style), I'd recommend National Health's "Complete", which is a two-disc set containing all three of their studio albums. If you like that, try Hatfield And The North, or, for a more recent (not-70s) example, try Volare'. Soft Machine is supposedly a classic of the genre, too, but they've never really clicked with me. Since you mentioned Camel & Focus above, I'll add Happy The Man too... similar laid-back, jazzier stuff.

I'm sorry to say that the LSfNY has to be the worst album packaging I've ever seen for a CD. Out of nearly 2000 cd's that I own, this is the most awkward and pain in the ass album to get the cd's out.

Either you pull the disc itself and get finger marks over it, or you hafta squeeze the cardboard and hope the discs drop out. Whatever, the sleeve isn't going to last very long at all. So the answer is of course to remove the discs and put them in jewel cases. But how easy is it to get a 3CD jewel case these days ?

Besides you shouldn't have to to this sort of thing.

hey there folks, this question goes out to all those on the list that are familiar with unix-based email. i'm probably going to have to leave my server soon, & i was wondering if there were any unix servers (accessible through Telnet) that provide free email accounts, comparable to, say, Hotmail on the Web. same idea, only it's freemail unix-style through Telnet. let me know any and all input regarding this, and you're more than welcome to respond privately so as not to clutter up the jam with all of it. thanks in advance. peace, eric

    Graeme...

Where did you get your copy from?? What is available through a local importer or did you buy through the net?? JB Hi Fi here in Melbourne had it on order and it was due to be shipped the day after it was pulled so they are now not getting it in until the re-issue arrives!

BTW... the new Queensryche Live Evolution cd rocks!! Can't wait for the DVD of that one!

    Paul.

anyone hear small violins playing?? but yeah, i was surprised of the cardboard packaging too. don't know why they decided to do that. but i got one of the pre-recall albums so i can't complain at all. what a kick ass cd though. especially metropolis I, damn, i just keep playing that song. i was surprised they didn't include that on the dvd. and even more suprised after hearing it! I keep listening to the pre-sfam stuff. the sfam songs just got old. i didn't think that could happen with dt songs. guess i'm wrong. i'm completely ready for the next album. any band that can make a 40 minute piece of rock music...you just gotta give em props. rock on. keep the jam alive! -tim

Just released a major update to the song book, should be all caught up on all of the lyrics (with lots of interesting tidbits on the samples and such).

Also, I am introducing an online, searchable version of the song book in addition to the downloadable text verion.
